K-Nine Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 Following discussions regarding the addition of features to the console range, one important question has arisen. Is it acceptable for certain advanced features to *require* the use of an external monitor ? Quote K-Nine : Technically Advanced Roving Dog In Space Bran Media | Myspace
Pipo Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 why not? You can't show everything on that little display! Quote Den Pipo Pro Light Design
GLX Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 Yea go for the monitor, would make programming a wee bit less head wrecking. THE BIGGER THE BETTER. Quote
Angelic Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 I don't know what advanced features you may have in mind, but the monitor is quite possibly one of the best features for me - especially with naming the scenes, navigating with my keyboard and then pressing the Go button - it's much easier than writing down what all of your cues are, especially for live/impromptu shows! I say keep the monitor, and the more features for it the better, but as Pipo said - it may come to a time when you've got so many features some will just have to be unique to the monitor for space reasons! Jersey Arts Centre Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 I can't stand to Op using just the little window, give me a nice big monitor any day I'm sure that when touring it is great not to have to lug a monitor about, but seeing all in one view far outways the dissadvantages as far I I can see. Mars Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 What about those slick 7 - 14" flat screens? They're flat (hmm), relatively small, not very heavy and almost not at all fitting in the flight case. And extremely expensive. But I think we're talking of a GUI by now. Angelos Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 I always use the monitor. Very handy. (If only those arrow keys ... ;-) Quote
lxkev Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 i used to use a sirus500. all i can say is "i wish the frog monitor output was as good", please!!! the sirus had alot of advanced features through the monitor - it was great!! please improve the output!!!! Quote I need a new job
Pipo Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 The sirius was based on DOS and according to me it did crash to much. The output on the frog however can be better so you have a better overview. But haven't got any problems so far with it. Quote Den Pipo Pro Light Design
Haytech Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 Hello, since we bought the desk I used a aditional monitor for each gig its a question of membering the memories and all the sub´s. However my brain loves the monitor especialy at two o clock in the morning. lxkev Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 "i wish the frog output was as good as the sirus" yes the sirus500 crashed, but for most of the time it was the most user freindly desk interface i've used. I'm sure anyone who used a sirus500/250 would agree!!?!! The layout of the bullfrog is still very much like the sirus500, please make the software look the same!! Bring on the advanced features - most other desk manufactures uses a monitor - dont fall behind the times zero88!!!! Kev Quote I need a new job
K-Nine Posted September 24, 2003 Author Report Posted September 24, 2003 any1 having probs with desk default's? for some reason my mem number1 does not default to what i set i.e. snap Which desk default are you referring to - Colour, Beamshape or Position Action - each can be independently set to snap or fade. if the default is set to fade, then the memory will use the LTP Fade Time when it is triggered. Andy128 Posted October 23, 2003 Report Posted October 23, 2003 The screen seems a must, shows a lot more info than the desk veiws, also a keyboard seems a worth while thing to carry with the desk. Quote
