Guest fromy Posted March 4, 2003 Report Posted March 4, 2003 Is there a way to start, stop and reset, movingheads from the fatfrog console? Quote
richard Posted March 4, 2003 Report Posted March 4, 2003 You need to look in the manual and find out which channel is the 'reset' channel, then find that in the wheel groups, and set it to the channel specified in the manual for Reset. Quote
K-Nine Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 Currently, there is no reset information stored in the fixture personality data for the Frog series desks; they only define the fixture parameters (brightness, colour, gobo, pan, tilt etc.), which channel they are on and their default value (ie the value sent out by the desk when you 'home' the fixture). If it was simply a case of sending out a specific DMX value on a particular channel to reset a fixture, then this could be implemented relatively easily. However, it would appear that every manufacturer seems to have their own different way of 'resetting' their fixtures which may involve setting dipswitches on the fixture, setting several channels at different levels and/or holding levels for a period of time etc. This subject has cropped up on numerous occasions in the past but as yet we have no simple solution to the problem Quote K-Nine : Technically Advanced Roving Dog In Space Bran Media | Myspace
richard Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Could you not add something like the hogs macro language into the personality file, so, say that the unit needed reseting by sending channel 5 level 128 for 3 seconds and then returning to 0 (it should also start at 0) the line would read: RESET: 5@0, 5@128, W:3, 5@0; Obviously this would only work if the fixture has been set up in a standard way, but as this is usually in the mode settings for the most used fixtures it should be OK. It would be of a massive use!! Richard Quote
GLX Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Why not program that your self, record as a cue, dump it to a sub on page 12, & remember to jump over it in the memory stack incase of accential trigering during show time. Quote
Laubfrosch Posted March 7, 2003 Report Posted March 7, 2003 Hi All, to follow GLX. What about creating a short cuelist, i.e. at cue 900- 902 (depends on the fixtures) for an reset. The first cue with all nessecary reset data for a requested period triggered as "go". And a second cue which sets the fixture(s) back to save values. That´s a kind of general working to all fixtures programmed in this cuelist. Especially for the High Ends What about working with preprogrammed Palettes. Shutter closed, Control channel to Reset level and so on. It works, you still have to do it manually. best regards Sven Quote Sven Paulsen Klangfarbe Vienna
