Morn Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 Interesting thing came to my mind recently...How do I program a half circle movement in the fixture section... I was first thinking about a 2 step chase with the circle effect but how do I exactly get the timing for my half circle and what is, when I have to adjust for example speed parameter or so live, because it's necessary for the show...Or is there maybe another solution except of the "chase" one....???? Haytech Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 Hi Morn, try when using "moving head´s " the ellipse effect is your friend, give your fixtures a tilt value above 128-128 set effect size X to 50 and speed to 5 / 8 voilá your fixtures follow a half circle. another solution is to use the triangle effect value with little more speed then the scans can´t reach all three points regulary... Morn Posted July 11, 2005 Author Report Posted July 11, 2005 Don't you just get a simple line, when you set one X/Y Parameter to Zero? Quote So, if you don't start drinking...I'm gonna leave!!!
Paul Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 Don't you just get a simple line, when you set one X/Y Parameter to Zero? You would with a moving mirror fixture, but not necessarily with pan on a moving head. Like Haytech says, set the tilt value so the fixture is not pointing straight up. It depends on which way up your fixtures are rigged and which way they are pointing, but it can be done. It's all tied up with the same movement maths that makes a circle effect on a moving head come out as a figure of 8. Quote
Morn Posted July 12, 2005 Author Report Posted July 12, 2005 I'm using Technobeam Iris Moving Mirrors.... :? Quote So, if you don't start drinking...I'm gonna leave!!!
Haytech Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 As I remember the Technobeams have a Movement Speed function when programming a tri effect i.e. X=50 Y=25 Speed=8 MovSpeed=25 by playing around with these values you should get a half circle. The mirror moves that slow, that it cant reach the 3points of the triangle. maybe this works for you. Quote Sebastian H.
