PeteF Posted March 29, 2005 Report Posted March 29, 2005 Hi We've recently had a fat frog installed at our church. We've used it successfully for the past 6 or so weeks with few problems (I've pretty much mastered the basics of it, and have started to get adventurous with the moving heads - creating chases etc....) Last Sunday however, the board threw a wobbly. random text appeared on the screen in places during an edit. When I came out of edit mode, I realised that when I selected a scene or memory to either edit or view, the index for the selected item was not labelled with a number - instead it was labeled with "......" also if I tried to edit any of the attributes for that item I would have the same problem. The "....."text would appear both on the RGB output as well as the LCD screen on the board. The text would flash back temporarily to what it should be when changin a parameter but this would only last while a button was pressed. I tried power cylcing the board a few times and that didn't help either. I'm going to reflash the system with the firmware supplied with the desk (I'm sorry I don't have the version to hand) to see if this will cure it...... any ideas what might have caused this otherwise cuz I really can't have this happening again 20 mins before a service. I'll post more info once I'm back in front of the desk and reflashing it. Laters Pete Fernando Quote
Laubfrosch Posted March 29, 2005 Report Posted March 29, 2005 Hi Peter, are you the only operator of the desk? Probably somebodey switched the desk from "Full"- to "Partial" mode or vice versa. Hopefully you have saved your show before that happened...Otherwise you´ll have a slight problem  Please check your OS release. The newest is OS Rel. 9.8 Best regards Quote Sven Paulsen Klangfarbe Vienna
PeteF Posted March 30, 2005 Author Report Posted March 30, 2005 Hi Well at the time I was creating a show from scratch for a new cue sheet I'd been provided with for the songs that were being played that night. I've tried to keep copies of each week's setup on disk since the start. Currently I am the only operator of the desk. But I think there are one or two sound guys who like to 'try their hand' at using the desk when I'm not there. Because our install isn't completed yet, I can't really offer anyone training as yet. In two weeks time I should be able to tho..... we're going to be putting the board on a key operated switch soon anyway, so that should stop prying hands. I'll check the software version tommorrow. We're receiving training from our supplier on our new sound desk so I'll get the frog board sorted at the same time. Cheers for the help! Kind Regards Pete Quote
