SimonH Posted Friday at 10:17 AM Report Posted Friday at 10:17 AM Hi, can someone explain how the info gets from manufacturer of fixtures to the desk manufacturers please? Is there a central store where this info is posted for all to use? Chauvet seem to have very limited numbers of fixtures that contain RDM data (2 of the 3 I have) and Zeros doesn't create usable fixture files when it finds them which is very anoying. Thanks, Simon Quote
SimonH Posted Friday at 12:41 PM Author Report Posted Friday at 12:41 PM Seem to have found the Carallon database. Now just to find out why Chauvet haven't uploaded the RDM data for most of their fixtures! Quote
Jon Hole Posted Friday at 04:55 PM Report Posted Friday at 04:55 PM Yes, there's a range of options. On ZerOS, we're focusing on GDTF now - which is a standard where luminaire manufactures make a file for each of their fixtures, which you can then load into any lighting console (so long as they support GDTF). The core library within ZerOS is based on the Carallon database. Jon Quote Jon Hole Global Product Manager, Systems and Control
SimonH Posted 22 hours ago Author Report Posted 22 hours ago Thanks Jon. It's a shame that one of the highlights of Rigsync is that it should find a fixture and even if it doesn't have an RDM fixture file for it , the software should build a basic one and make it work which unfortunately hasn't worked for any of the Chauvet fixtures we have. Cheers, Simon Quote
Jon Hole Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago Yes, unfortunately it requires the fixture to provide somewhat useful information back to the console, so ZerOS can have a good guess at how to control it well. Quote Jon Hole Global Product Manager, Systems and Control
