Brightness of Tagged fixtures

By tagging fixtures you're selecting the fixtures you want to program. So if you want to program the brightness of those fixtures, just alter it to the desired level.

Brightness is an HTP parameter, and therefore always programmed in every scene or chase. If you want to black out fixtures, just turn it to zero, or use the shutter for that purpose (don't know why you would though...)

As it says in the manual: always use the playback X fader at 0% while programming....!

But only the selected fixture's parameter is recored into a scene or chase right ? Or are ALL fixtures recorded ?

Depends on how your console is set up. If programming mode is "full" then everything is always recorded. When it's set to "partial" only tagged (not selected!) fixtures are programmed. For more info; rtfm!

Then, when I mix 2 chases, the 2nd one blacks the 1st one out.

Because in the 2nd one the 1st one's brightness is set to 0

Desk is brandnew... so I need to figure some things out...

Nope, when you want to black out chase 1, just pull down the fader. The brightness channels als HTP: Highest Takes Percendance, so whatever output on whatever fader or wheel is the highest the console will output. If you really want to black out you should use the shutter parameters, since that one's LTP (Latest Takes Percedance). Once more; check the manual, it's all in there (the manual doesn't care how brand new your console is I guess :) )

To go back to the original question ...

Is it possible to record ONLY the brightness parameters of the fixtures that are tagged ? Now every fixture's brightness parameter is recorded into the memory...

Or is there a workaround about this ?

Firstly, as mentioned above, fixture brightness channels are ALWAYS recorded into memories, submasters and SX buttons (Mambo) regardless of the tagged state of the fixtures.

To record ONLY the brightness of certain fixtures .... set the brightness levels of those fixtues to the required values, ensure that the brightness values of any other unwanted fixtures or generic channels is at ZERO and then record the data.

See Frog Series Manual (Issue 6) - Page 4-7, 5-3 :)

Frog Reference 5539 - Ability to tag brightness and tracking for the memory stack.
