pierotec Posted December 16, 2023 Report Posted December 16, 2023 Hi, I have a problem with a flx s48. After startup it asks to insert a memory stick, saves the file but the console does not start. How do I fix this, I have an upcoming show.
kgallen Posted December 16, 2023 Report Posted December 16, 2023 Does it look like the OS is corrupt? Is it asking for a bootable stick with the OS on it? If you’re at a crunch now: +44 (0)1633 838088
pierotec Posted December 16, 2023 Author Report Posted December 16, 2023 asks to insert usb stick to save file to send to Zero88 support
pierotec Posted December 16, 2023 Author Report Posted December 16, 2023 …then tries to reboot again but to no avail. I read in the manual that it is possible with an external keyboard by pressing F1 to enter a service menu. I'll try this procedure tomorrow morning.
kgallen Posted December 17, 2023 Report Posted December 17, 2023 Sounds like the OS is corrupt. There is a way to make a bootable USB stick. Keith @KWR88 can provide instructions.
pierotec Posted December 17, 2023 Author Report Posted December 17, 2023 solved with Startup Tool. Thank you P.
kgallen Posted December 17, 2023 Report Posted December 17, 2023 Oh, well done!!! I ought to have such a thing available as a backup...!
kgallen Posted December 17, 2023 Report Posted December 17, 2023 Ah here it is: https://www.zero88.com/manuals/zeros/trouble-shooting/zeros-startup-tool (I searched "startup tool" in the online manual. This was the LAST entry returned. Search really is.... &*^%$^£&%)

Keith @KWR88 can provide instructions. It is extremely unlikely for the OS to have corrupted. My guess is that the show file that was on the console had corrupted. As a side note, FLX S consoles cannot be recovered using a bootable USB drive. FLX S consoles must use the start-up tool for recovery.
