I read in the manual that it is possible with an external keyboard by pressing F1 to enter a service menu. I'll try this procedure tomorrow morning.

It is extremely unlikely for the OS to have corrupted. My guess is that the show file that was on the console had corrupted. As a side note, FLX S consoles cannot be recovered using a bootable USB drive. FLX S consoles must use the start-up tool for recovery.

Thanks @Edward Z88 my bad. Out of interest, does the full FLX have the start-up recovery tool?
