  1. I do not have the serial number of my jester for the moment. I have to look it up tonight... But the we bought the jester new around September 2007. We use it in combination with 4 rack6 dimpacks. The dongle is a tool I made myself. It is arduino controller connected over the Ethernet to pc. The controller sends a complete 512 channel DMX signal about 40 times a second. I wrote my own software to have control via ipad and android phone of all the channels (easy for testing channels when setting up the system without running every time to your control desk). And the control works fine until we store scene on the desk. When we go to the next scene it will start from the previous one. And there we encounter the problem. With the sliders on the desk we can grab the signal by sliding until we reach the previous value, but with the channels not assigned to the sliders this does not work. The only thing we can do is increase the output of these channels but we don't get it down. And this is where the copying comes in. Copying a scene with the channels values set to 0 enables us to change the value again to the setting we want.
  2. Since we are starting to use LED lights in our theater show the jester 12/24 becomes very limited in number of channels to use. Since it has been a very reliable and small table were looking how to add more channels. We hook up a usb-dmx dongle to the desk DMX IN and this seems to work great until we started programming. Once a level of a channel, above the 24 channels we have, is programmed on a value e.g. 55, there is no way to get it down anymore in a next scene... Increasing the value is no problem. This means that next scene you can set it to 100 but not to 0. The only way to get rid of it is to copy a scene on which this channel is set to 0. We do not have an issue with the channels assigned to the faders of the desk. It is only a case for the channels that are not assigned to a fader... We had the issue on 3.4 and it is still there on the latest 4.0 release. This is really a hot issue. Has someone already seen this problem or is there another work around?
  3. Hello, I am now using the jester 12/24 for a few days in theater and I have following suggestion: When you set the jester in two preset operation mode, the go button is disabled. So I would suggest to use this go button to copy a scene from memory to the preset from which the preset master is set to 0. After the copying you can see the LED in the flash button blink of the channels that are active. It would be interesting to be able to fetch these fader levels and adjust them or add other faders to the particular scene. (actually the same way as you have in program mode) Once the scene is copied the next scene number is incremented. The up and down buttons can be used to decrement and increment the next scene number. And the clear button could be used to reset all faders of the not used preset. This will help me to find a way to manually fade between two stored scenes. And could be helpful if the number of scenes exceeds my 24 submasters. Thanks for your understanding, Pieter
  4. Ok thanks for the explanation. I think I will be able to reduce the number of scenes to 24n and use the submasters. But I still think it would be interesting to be able to cross fade between two stored scenes (eg in preset mode) with the A and B master as I used to do on the good old Sirius 24. (And having the preset available to add some extra light that has been forgotten since the light settings can change in theater from one show to another....)
  5. We have the jester12/24. This means that we could program 24 submasters. But if I am not mistaken you can only access the submasters on the B-faders. So how do I crossfade between submaster 12 and submaster 13? The only way I can think of is copying scene 12 in submaster 12 and 13 in the same scene, then first set submaster 12, then set submaster 13 and then fade out 12 and then I am ready to crossfade between 13 and 14. Or is it possible to copy a scene into a memory in RUN MODE?
  6. We just bought a jester to be used for small theater productions. I saved about 25 scenes in memory but i want to fade manually between these scenes. I didn't find anything in the manual related to this, so is there a way to fade manually between two stored scenes? And is there a way to speed-up or slow down an auto fade?
  7. Ok I will give this a try. But can you mail me the IC numbers (and types)of the Ram and the address decoders (I do not have the schematics)? But thanks already for the quick reply.
  8. Hello, We had a complete power cut and when the power was fixed again i got the message flashing "SLAVE LOST" on my sirius 24. And all the channels give maximum output although all the faders are in zero position. The desk was never used in slave mode. Even trying to go to "super user" mode is not possible. When switching the desk ON it say first "SLAVE ONLY" (very shortly) and then continues flashing "SLAVE LOST". The desk does not react on any button push, switch change or fader change. Please help asap (even electronic issues I can handle). I repaired the desk already twice but I can not figure out this problem. Is there a way to reset the software (go to default factory settings)? We need the desk operational by tuesday!!!
