  1. Over the years I've had the pleasure of popping to Cwmbran for various training events, a couple of factory tours and occasional casual visits when I was passing by as well as visiting trade shows; it was always good to see KWR88 about, happy to help and advise. You knew the consoles inside out but you were also personable and I enjoyed catching up with how our kids had been growing up Many thanks for all your help over the years Hope you and your family are well and wish you all the best in your future endeavours
  2. Hi Jon With your announcement of changes to the FLXs, are there any plans to provide the FLXs with more functionality in the form of editing of effects? I look forward to reading ZerOS 7.15 release notes to see what new features the consoles will then have... Is the Solution really 12 years old Unlike most modern electronic devices, the Solution XL I use is still going strong

    OSC

@davidmk I don't have any fixtures attached to the DMX output of the FLX but watching the output screen, the intensities increase/decrease as per the OSC script. Also, moving the fader within TouchOSC varies the intensity of the associated playback as expected

    OSC

Hi David This is what I tried to create "Go next" for a playback; The value is the playback number
  5. Thanks Jon I had some info to post regarding TouchOSC and FLXs24 but wouldn't let me replies or create a new thread - I've changed the attachment format to jpg rather than png and have posted Ok
  6. I received the same error when replying to a thread in the General Section today too - have emailed you Ed with details
  7. Hi Edward Was storing to MFK just like I would a cue. Selected "merge" when attempting to add the changes (effect with intensity or dimmer) I wanted. Mike
  8. Hi Am running 2.12 on an in-house Soulution and with a couple of LED battens created effect using the in-built effects (green sparkle) then saved it to a MFK. I then created a second effect for a couple of LED Pars, again using the in-built effects. I then recorded the second effect onto the same MFK. I changed the colour time to 0 seconds and when the fader was raised, only the second effect was output. I then deleted everything on the MFK, created the two effects together and saved them on the MFK. This worked but I felt I wanted to add some facelight so took a dimmer fader to a level then selected record and merge but once again my effects had gone. Is it me? Regards Mike
  9. The only way I know of would be to factory reset the console and reload your custom fixtures - not an ideal way but it works Regards
  10. Hi You mention this build fixes a couple of bugs in 7.9.2. Will 7.9.2.50 be uploaded into the Legacy folder? If not, what is stable build prior to 7.9.3 that is recommended? Regards Mike
  11. Hiya Just to let you know that although the associated 7.9.3 apps install on an iPhone running 11.2, they cannot be installed on iPads which are running the latest apple 10.3.3 release Regards Mike
  12. Hi I knew in the older builds how to create a topset for dimmers and also how to software swap pan/tilt but where are these features in the 7.9.n builds on a Solution? Many thanks Mike
  13. Hi There is a setting that allows you to do this. Try Settings, System Settings then Page Holdover to Disabled Regards Mike
  14. Hi Jon Am sending a couple of debug files from a Solution console to you via email. The first is from after a desk lock-up due to a power blip. The second is from a process problem during a programming session; I was viewing the Output screen on Desktop 4 Pressed Setup and changed Topset of a couple of channels Pressed Setup to return to normal view Pressed Delete Submaster 1 Console stopped responding to fader/key press/mouse Hope they are of use Regards Mike
  15. Hi The Install Creator should be built in to the executable in the zip file - Have a blank USB drive - Extract the executable from the zip file and run it from a PC (needs Windows 7 or earlier). This will format the USB as bootable and install the console upgrade on it - Plug USB drive in console - Power-up console and install the new OS When installed, future software upgrades will be simpler; - Unzip the new OS and put it in the root folder of a USB drive - Boot the console - Press Setup - Select Load file - Select the new OS executable file and the click Load Hope this helps Regards Mike
  16. JamesBH There are two ways to load the new OS - the method would depend on the current version of software on the console. The latest method for more recent console releases is the easiest; - Unzip the new OS and put it in the root folder of a USB drive - Boot the console - Press Setup - Select Load file - Select the new OS file and the click Load If you console is pre 7.9 then you may need to; - Have a blank USB drive - Extract and run the executable from a PC (needs Windows 7 or earlier) to format/install the USB as a bootable with installation on it - Plug USB drive in console - Power-up console and install the new OS Hope this helps Regards Mike
  17. A new release is available - I updated my devices last night
  18. I saw this a while back with some LED lights I had. It could be that in the first step, tagged values at 0 do not get recorded into the step. To check, Load 1 MFF and see what is tagged there. Set the lights that are on in the last step of the chase to 0 (and tagged if you are set to record individual colours). Then Update the step. It worked for me Mike
  19. Hi Simon It is a known bug which, I believe, is set to be fixed in a soon to be released console release Regards
  20. The DMX control from computer during console failure was where my understanding lacked. After speaking to Zero88, the DMX output from a computer would need either artnet or sacn interfaces. Artnet interfaces are available in 1, 2 or more universes. Mike
  21. Hi Sven My understanding is that the computer is connected to the same switch/hub as the console. The computer is put into "backup" mode then if the console fails the control of the show is taken over by the computer - no artnet required. I need to understand the definition of "console fail" as the backup computer would need to use the physical console universes? [see page 71 of the Solution User Manual] Jon et-al: Is there a way I can play to further understand this? Mike
  22. Hi I may be mis-reading the thread but it sounds like you have already defined Gobo 1, Gobo 2, etc so therefore each one already exists when you select "Insert". Try selecting each gobo from the table itself, change the image then select "Replace". When finished, save the file and import as normal. Hope that helps Mike
  23. Hi Steve I have had a play with my Solution and IOS 8.2 with ZerOS remote 2.0 on my iPad and can connect Ok. Following an upgrade it is worth checking that the network settings on the console haven't been returned to a default? Regards Mike
  24. Hi I also have SCS (Professional) and having looked at the SCS online comparisons it looks like you'd need SCS Professional Plus for DMX working - that said, sending of MIDI/RS232 from SCS is permitted in SCS Professional. The manual [ http://www.showcuesystems.com/scs11help/topics/prod-cc-dmx.htm ], also seems to read that the SCS software only works as DMX in; i.e. DMX sent from a console - " For DMX Control you need an Enttec 'DMX USB PRO'. (Note that the cheaper Enttec 'Open DMX USB' is not suitable as this only supports DMX Send, not DMX Receive.)" [ http://www.showcuesystems.com/scs11help/topics/scs-features.htm ] [ http://www.showcuesystems.com/scs11help/topics/prod-cc-dmx.htm ]. The last thing I found was "SCS also has the ability to activate cues from MIDI, RS232, DMX and Telnet input messages (provided you have the appropriate license level)" - note that DMX is striked out which reads that SCS is not able to send DMX Midi would seem an option but you would need the console upgrade kit fitted? I welcome any clarification on this Regards Mike
  25. Hi Like many of the better fixtures, the Robe Robin has different "modes", each utitilising a number of DMX channels. For example, Mode 1 may use one DMX channel for pan and one DMX channel for tilt and a single colour output of each LED colour whilst another mode will use two DMX channels for pan and two DMX channels for tilt which allows for more precise positioning and the ability to have two or three separate banks of LED colour. Mode 5 is normally the all-inclusive full function mode which will require the most DMX channels assigned. The latest fixture release (Release 28) has; Robin 300 LEDWash : Mode 1, Robin 300 LEDWash : Mode 2, Robin 300 LEDWash : Mode 3, Robin 300 LEDWash : Mode 4 and Robin 300 LEDWash : Mode 5 Which mode are your fixtures set to? Regards Mike
