If it is a fog machine with only one DMX channel (I did not found a manual - but it looks like it is a "normal" one channel machine) take a generic one channel fixture (e.g. dimmer)and patch it to the machines address.
-
Did you opened the shutter and/or set the the Dimmer channel to 100%? Please check - the fader assigned to the fixture - the "red" preset A fader - the "master" fader - if the shutter is open and the dimmer activated (beam shape) Please set all those faders to 100% and - depending on the fixture - check if you have to open the shutter to activate the dimmer functionality on a separate channel.

Yes, disable the "smart tag" function. Should work, but don't ask me why.

Hi Peter, I used some "LED bars" and 24 conventional dimmer channels. For those LED bars I assigned something about 60 "self made 4 channel RGB" fixtures with virtual intensity plus some additional control fixtures for general functions. I think the virtual intensity could be the cause of the issue, but I have no time at the moment to run any tests. Next weekend I will get back to this topic, then I could also send you the fixture files if needed. regards Christian

Hello, Version 5.2.2 Really nice - good job. Everything seems now to be as excepted. After the update smart Tag was enabled and I forgot to switch it off. So I started programming, first the Submaster memories with simple htp one channel generic fixtures. All intensity parameters were stored. The next step - programming the ltp Fixtures (Mfk buttons and some on the presets) all parameters were stored - excepted the intensity. I was not able to figure out why, because the intensity of the ltp fixtures was stored in the "normal" memories, but not in the submaster memories. The generic htp intensities are stored in the submaster as well as in the memories. Disabling the smart tag function was the solution. So my question is - what did I wrong? This is not a urgent issue, I don't like the smart tag function so I normally do not use it, but I spend 30 min. to figure out what the cause of this is issue is... ;-) Thanks in advance regards Christian

Hi Peter, Can I easily downgrade to the Version before using the old Software on the usb stick until the new software is released? Or are there any issues or procedures I have to take care of during the downgrading process? I'm used to "play the light live". That means I have some programmed pallets and subs I work with and not a preprogrammed "timeline show". In this case - and especially at some events with less time for programing, no reliable schedule or set list and more than 100 fixtures (especially the led stuff) I need a proper working group function. Of course Gobo pictures and colorful screen designs are "nice to have" but the group function is more or less a thing you have to have. Kind regards Christian

Hi Peter, Thanks for the reply, do you know when the problems with the group mfks will be fixed? Mid of June I would like to use the desk in a show with some LED fixtures and therefor I have to patch something about hundred 3 channel RGB+ one virtual intensity fixtures. Without the group function the programming of those fixtures makes absolute no fun. Of course, sorry for the bad explanation. The close button don't close the window and nothing happens, no "press the button animation" by clicking on it. I use a ELO 15" Touch Screen I think this should be the model or order code: ET1515L-8CEC-1-GY-G Next time I will be in front of the desk I will connect a mouse to test if it is the monitor or the software. I do not think it's a calibration issue - I calibrated the monitor three times and during the test after the calibration it worked fine, also in the corners of the screen and most of the time the button works fine. regards Christian

Hello, Just arrived at home from the first (very small) show with the new Software. The bigger close buttons are great, the color and gobo "preview" in the MFK section is nice, also the improvements in the other parts of the Software. It was good that I tried this new software release at a show where a JesterML would be the right size of desk, therefor the failure of the group function was not so bad. It was impossible to use the groups. Recording to a MFK seems to be fine, but no chance to select fixtures using the group mfks. Is this a bug or is there a new way to program groups? As usual I selected the Fixtures using the Submaster Flash and MFK Buttons. After that I pressed and hold the MFK Group button for a while until the mfk showed a tag. The second issue is a small one: The "Chase speed" label from the submaster properties dialog on the display over the wheels is at a wrong place. The function to change the speed is on the first wheel, the caption over the second. The third one could also be a problem with my touchscreen (ELO) I'm not shure about that, but sometimes the close button does not work as it is intended to. The last two issues are small ones, but the issue with the group function makes it very hard to operate the Desk. Is there a solution for that?´Thanks in advance regards Christian

Try this: If necessary update to Version 4 and use the "Release" Feature in the Submaster Setup (Setup+Submaster Flash button). If you enable this then use the submaster once - the Submaster is now present on every page until you press clear + Sub.Flashbutton, even if its position is zero.

Hello, I'm playing with some cheap led tubes (Eurolite - not the best at all but it was special offer and a very good price) The problem: I program an effect and save it to a MFK. The Effect works well. After power down and up - the Effect is stored in the MFK but is "empty". Before power down: Function Red E15(Mark on) Green E15(Mark on) Blue E15(Ramp) After Power down/up: Function Red E15() Green E15() Blue E15() Size is also always E15() Offset seems to be ok, E15(33) Now it's getting crazy - after saving the show to a usb stick and a new power cycle some of the effects (E11 up to E20 without E16) are ok like before, others not. (E1,2,3,5) Why? And why are they "empty"? Attached please find the showfile. It is not a real File, its only a simple test. Desk Software (all parts) are "up to date". Kind regards Christian LED_test.isf

Hi Click here for DMX Chart in German Click here for DMX Chart in English Unfortunately there is no Fixture File for the ypoc250Pro in the Zero88 FixtureLib ver. 20.0. But you can download the Fixture Type Editor here and create a User Fixture File. Import this File into the desk. Its a lot of typing to add all the channel values and descriptions, but it's quite easy and very comfortable.

Hello, I tried to create some effects with the "new" effect engine window, but there is something that's a little bit confusing to me. Maybe you can tell me what I'm doing wrong... So I'm able to add a Offset to every parameter in the effect windows - but not a clearly defined "Phase" or "Angel" between the different Fixtures. One Example: a row of Movinglight, I select all pan or tilt and enter "sine" as effect. Now all Heads moving up and down. To create a "wave" I choose a fanning like "Fan first" and move the wheel for Offset. That works. Now I choose another row of heads and I want them to do the same Wave with the same "Phase shifting" angle like sin(Phi). Thats something impossible - because the Display shows any (random?) Numbers but not a useful information to set the same "shifted" Offset as in the row before.. A additional column in the effect Window "Angle" could be the solution. Of course I know that I can select the "+90;+180 effects...)- but this needs a lot of time to do this for every Head in the row. At the moment I try to figure out how to program effects on some led bars, each of them is controlled via 7 different rgb Fixtures with a virtual intensity. The problem is to create an effect that does the same on all bars "synchronous", like a chaser from one segment of the bar to the next one and so on. Therefore I need a fixed "angle" for the "offset-fanning", because I have to create one effect for each bar if I want them to do the same kind of effect, but I don't know how to do it. Thanks for reading. Best regards Christian

Hi Peter, Thanks for the reply. I'll take a look on both, especially the new Arkaos MediaMaster Version. The Arkaos DMX Version looks also suitable. Fortunately there are free demo versions of both Arkaos versions, so I can try the basics before I spend any money.

Hello, I don't know if this is the right board to post such a topic - if it's not please move or delete. I want to add some media stuff like videos, animated pictures or live cameras to a light show, so I'm looking for a program for "VJs". The Screens are on stage, the video projectors too. We are talking about small shows, like cover bands up to 48 Dimmerchannels and 8-16 Movinglights, so there is no huge budget and no need for the "real big professional" Media Engines as they were used in television or on huge stages. The Computer ("Media Server") should be placed on stage - so that the signal cabels are as short as possible. Therefore I want to remote control the Server with the leapfrog48, for playing back some videos or fade in a live camera. For "maintenance" there is a remote desktop connection like VNC to the Stage. The program should be able to receive Artnet and it should be possible to integrate it into or connect it with LighConverse (Zero88 Edition) for pre-programing. More than one video out (secondary graphic card) is not necessary but would be a nice option. Operating System: doesn't matter. Any proposals or ideas how to to this? Thanks in advance PS: My actual favorite is Arkaos.

Did you tag the fixtures and parameters you want to program? Is the SmartTag Function enabled or disabled?
-
-
Yes. Load the Fixture file (or a copy from the original Library) into the Fixture Editor and take a look at "Parameters". Maybe there is no "macro channel" in the List yet or its named different. To assign a wheel to that channel, create a new Parameter and choose channel 4 and the Section, like Beamshape or Color. After that go to "3 Wheel Group" and select the Wheel you want to assign to that Parameter. (double click the Color, Beamshape or Position Tag) Safe the file and transfer it to the desk.

Hello, From time to time I have to use some Moving Mirrors from Futurelight, called PSC-575. A typical low cost Scanner produced somewhere in Asia... However - they seem to be very rare, I have to add them to every desk I used. So I created a Fixture file for the LeapFrog48 and therefore for all other Zero88 Desks, which can import this format. Kind regards Christian PS: You can also use it for the older Sirius250/500. Export it to the Sirius250 Format using the Fixture Type Editor. PSC_575.ift

The Fixture you are looking for is Eurolite LED Par 64, included in the Fixture Lib. version 20 and as far as I know in some of the Libs before... You have to differ between "Parameter" and DMX "Channel". So the Intensity can be Parameter #1 but the channel can be 4,5 or whatever the fixtures manufacturer defined. Kind regards Christian PS: Take a look at the Fixture Type Editor - to create such a small Fixture like a LED RGB Parcan with 5 Channels you need a couple of minutes - not more.
-
You can use the mfks. First create your position, beamshape [...] presets. Then program a Macro which selects the presets you want to be enabled. (The result is almost like the Focus Submasters at the S250) Otherwise you can program a submaster. To enable the program by pressing one button, press setup + the submasters flash button and choose go or latch in the "Flash button action".

Hi Peter, I'm not a fan of these new, modern and fancy USB Desk Lamps, and sorry to say that - the "desk lamp" shipped with the desk is useless unless you can use the desk with closed eyes. So I miss my old cozy incandescent lights, the two simple rugged and dimmable Desklamps with the small bulbs. At the back of the LeapFrog48 are two "spare holes" - so my question is if there is an down/upgrade Kit for conventional dimmable Desk Lamps? Kind regards Christian PS: The new Software looks great!

@DaveP Thank you for this topic! @Peter This sounds good. I don't know if we're talking about the same Problem, but i had the same error last week. At this time I don't know exactly what happened I changed the name of a Submaster and I think it is possible that I pressed ctrl instead of Shift. Funny: after pressing some keys (ESC?) I saw a command line with a shell.

Your fixtures are still tagged in the program Windows. That's the reason why the submaster values are "ignored". When you press clear, the channels (including the intensity) are untagged and you can use the submaster fader. My first thought was to hold the clear button an move the wheel - this should untag the channel and you can use the submaster fader. But your Problem still exists. Is this intended by the developers or a bug? I think the best solution in any way is to program your other lights to memories or other submaster fader, then you can press clear as often you want... Best regards Christian

Hi, I don't understand what exactly you mean - because I tried it on my Desk and it worked. Step by step tutorial: 0. press clear twice 1. select the fixtures using the MFKs 2. select the parcans with the channel flashbuttons 3. Change the value of the color wheels and the level of the channel faders 4. Go to the submaster screen 5. Select the submaster you want to program 6. Press program To test: - press clear twice - move the submaster fader - play any effect after selecting the fixtures Desk: Smart Tag - OFF, Cues only OFF, Preset mix mode - LTP (better for programing - for the show I switch to HTP)
