Hi The way that I would be tempted to use the bars would be to treat them as 4 separate fixtures (not the cleanest way but I think the best for selecting colours) so fixture one - would control the first 6 channels (function, dimmer, strobe and RGB for par 1) fixture two - would control the RGB of par 2 (channels 7,8,9) Fixture three - would control the RGB of par 3 (channels 10,11,12) Fixture four _ would control the RGB of par 4 (Channels 13,14,15) If you do want to use this method I have created a partial fixture file containing the parameters for Par 1 and a separate fixture for Pare 2,3, and 4 Regarding recording over colour fixtures I have a feeling this is possible for the auto generated colours, I am not in front of my desk to check but to be safe I would back up your show, record your pallets then test, if it goes wrong just restore your saved show file. kamcustom.ift

What version have you updated to? Are you able to select a fixture but unable to use home? (The home option only works on selected fixtues.) If you cant select fixtues have you tried using the comand line syntax to select the fixtues? (The comand line options are found on page 2 of the special keys.) I asume you have loaded some fixtues back into your show file, as the desk will wipe this out when you upgraid.

thats great new Jon, thanks for the clarification.

Once outsourced to a 3rd party, will the fixture editor/creator still be available for users to create there own custom fixtures? I create a lot of custom bespoke fixtures based on different shows needs and need to constantly make fixture profiles to accommodate this, i would never ask Zero 88 to build the profiles as they are bespoke to the show/venue so would never benefit your user base.

Hi Jon I was just thinking about this thread and wondered if you had made and further progress with its development. would love to use my zeros desks for pixel mapping soon. its a bit of a pain using two desks when working with pixels.

just in case: to change the desk so it works in HTP, press [setup] to enter the setup screens, select [desk setup] at the bottom of the screen, then [behavior] at the top of the screen, here you will see an option called 'preset mix mode' change this to HTP (i suspect it will be on the default of LTP) HTP will always take the highest intensity value as the priority eliminating the problem of your preset catching the memory value. although this can present its own problems.
-
You need to lower the fader first before pressing clear. Or change your desk behaviour to htp rather than ltp
-
Press clear twice once you have lowered the preset fader.

I know you addressed this to Jon but the answer is yes the PC can control fixtures using Phantom Zeros through Artnet. you will need a "ZerOS Unlock Dongle" the Zero 88 part number is 00-887-00. They are available through a Zero 88 distributor,

Hi I use 'show cue systems' for windows, if you buy the pro version this does support MSC and is far more superior to multiplay giving a better quality of sound (one of the reasons I use it over multiplay)

Solution XL presets randomly stop working
keredyelesob replied to Fireball40k's topic in Solution & Solution XL
I had exactly the same behavior Fireball40K describes and i used to end up doing a software reset to fix the issue. Keith from Zero 88 came out to visit my site for a completely different reason but while he was there a showed him the problem and he explained the exact thing Jon has mentioned above and this fixed the problems i was getting. although i had no idea i had changed the preset control (I had no reason to) this was the cause of me problem. -
Hi Not sure if this is a bug or just intentional, but; say you have a chase recorded in cue stack 1 and then your show in cue stack 0, you have some cues in CS0 that trigger and release your chase in CS1. If i then delete my chase in CS1 all of the references for the triggers and releases are left behind, should this not delete all references to CS1? I can see advantages and disadvantage of leaving references, for instance; an advantage would be if you where deleting the chase to replace with a new one, you may want the triggers to remain in place, however a disadvantage would be if you are deleting the chase in CS1 to replace with a manually operated scene, in this case you would want all triggers to CS1 to be deleted with the stack to avaid accidentally running the scene In a similar scenario are the macros, however this works on the principle if you delete the macro all reference to that macro are deleted with it. Again i see the same advantages and disadvantage with macros and i do with cue stacks. Anyhow like i say not sure if its a bug or not, just thought i would ask.

Hi Fixture file attached. the fixture is called Performer HEX as the name field was not long enough to put the full name of 'Performer 18 HEX' and thought if i just call it Performer 18 it will conflict with the existing fixtures that are also called that name. LEDJPHEX.ift

I think I like the idea of locking the console from recording functions as described by Central Theatre but I also like the lock method that the solution and orb adopt, where the whole console is locked down stopping all controls and screens from working whilst still outputting the current state, My reason for this is because when running shows is venues where the desk can be accessed by public (small community halls for instance) i feel better being able to lock the console during the interval (or any time i leave it unattended) safe in the knowledge no one is messing and when i come back to the desk, nothing will have changed or progressed on stage. Maybe we could have to levels of 'lock' where by: disable recording - 'show mode', disable all input - 'lock'

I am not sure if you have already, but i would ask your local zero88 distributor as i am sure they will be able to supply a replacement cover. You can find your local distributor by following this link http://zero88.com/distributors/index.shtml

Hi There are several ways to find the version of software your solution console is running depending on the version, try method one and if the fails you are on an older version so try method two. 1) load the 'output' window (click the 'output' button on the console) at the top left of this screen you will see an option 'other windows' click this, you will see a list of other windows that you can load, within this list you will see 'System info' click this option, you will be presented with a screen containing the software version, along with other desk info. 2) for older version of Zeros you will need to click the 'setup' button on the console and then click 'files' at the bottom of the screen, you should see an option for 'desk information' click this and you will be presented with a screen containing the software version, along with other desk info. (option two is from memory you may need to search a little within setup for this info) Also with the solution desk the software version is displayed on the external monitor during boot up. Personally i would recommend updating your operating system to the latest stable version as this will contain a lot of bug fixes and even more features. well worth the effort. latest version can be downloaded here Did the desk ask you to save a error report? if it did and you have saved the error report I would email it to Jon, he will pass it onto the software engineers who will advise you what went wrong. if you didn't get an error report i would try to replicate the error by doing what you did when the console froze, then email Jon the steps to replicate it. Jon's email is JonHole@Eaton.com

Fixture profile attached based on this manual that i googled, If the fixture doesn't work let me know, but can you also attach the manual The profile has two fixtures one with a virtual master dimmer (this will control the RGB elements together to act as an overall dimmer whilst keeping the RGB elements separate), the other just treats the RGB as separate colour elements. keredyelesob replied to playbackenterprise's topic in General Discussion
It all looks good to me, All I have added is detail on the colour wheel so now the colours will show within auto pallets and in the detail on the desk, this makes is easier when selecting a colour, also for completeness a picture of the fixture Followspot75ST.ift -
Hi if you are not using an effect to flash the intencity it should be posible using tracking with smart tag off. Record your effect movement. Then clear programmer and record only the intencity making sure the only thing tagged is intencity. (In the parameter lcd you will see what is taged by inverted text) hope this helps you. Let me know if not.

Not sure if this will help but i asume you have tried updating a standard fixture did you change the name slightly. It is just a thought but the desk may still be picking up the standard fixture over your new custome one.if you change the name you can be sure you are using your new fixture. When i have made fixture profiles with gobo images they have worked but i always rename them if modifying a profile. I cant remember if the images only show in the pallets when the fixture is selected but i assume you have already done this 😊
