  1. I may have come across a solution; since each pack is in an individual flight case, a prepared panel loaded with 16 amp sockets can be purchased from CPC (and other suppliers) and fitted at the rear of the flight case. All it needs then is a carefully prepared loom that will travel through the spare unused power inlet at the back of the pack to the rear of the existing 15 amp sockets. Another blank panel can be used to close off the back of the flight case to prevent fingers reaching the rear of the 16 amp sockets. At least this method leaves the pack intact and not even a soldering iron or drill is needed. An additional earth point from the new panel to the earthing bus inside the pack will maintain the integrity of the unit.
  2. I am considering conversion of some of our Betapacks to a 16Amp socket format but am having trouble finding a suitable chassis socket. Those I have looked at have the correct size cut-out but are too big externally. Has anyone attempted a job like this and can you give any advice? Is it possible to purchase a punched front panel designed for 16Amp sockets? Another possibility is to sacrifice one of the existing 15Amp sockets and fit a Socapex connector wired to all six outputs, any thoughts here? Anticipating the question, we are all electrically fit and qualified and have equipment to retest once the job is done! Bob
