It's not too complicated once you do it, it takes a couple of seconds max, but it gives you MANY more options and flexibility - you can easily reuse chases for example, or run multiple chases at the same time. Have a play with it, if you think there's a simpler and quicker way of doing this, whilst keeping the flexibility and speed, please let me know - we're always open to ideas! My name is on that list too :-) Thank you for the kind words :-) We're working at being ever more transparent and open with our development roadmap for you too.

Hi Ray, It's worth telling everyone that you are running Beta software, and you were warned about the network issue you mentioned below before you installed beta code. As we discussed last week on the phone, you had all my personal contact details if you had any problems over the bank holiday weekend, but I haven't heard from you at all. I'll try and answer all your points below: I'm still waiting to hear from you what the model of touch screen you are using, so we can look into this for you? What can't you do within an External Monitor? Everything that's on the external monitor is available on the internal monitor, and is actually much more convenient, easier and quicker on the interal monitor! Just press "Enter" to cancel, as it says on the monitor during calibration: No Zero 88 console has every had a shut down procedure - we put a lot of time (and expense!) into ensuring you can always power down (or loose power!) at any time without loosing data. We do detect if a monitor is attached. We talked about this last week on the phone. If you press "Name" and then choose something to name, an onscreen keyboard appears on the internal monitor. You found one place within Setup where this didn't happen, and as I mentioned on the phone we've added a report about this to fix it. We of course completely agree - there's nowhere in the software where you have to restart to get out of a menu system, as mentioned above. Ray, I gave you my personal details and specifically mentioned you could contact me at any time this bank holiday weekend, but I haven't heard from you at all. On top of that, we have a support number and email which was monitored all weekend, and you didn't use these either.

Hi Lufferov Almost everything you've asked about can be doen already, and I've tried to answer them individually below. There's one or two which are coming soon! Thanks for letting me know - this is why we go through Beta Testing before public release :-) Capture has been working fine for us, and we've used it at Trade Shows etc, but I will add an issue to ensure this is checked in the latest Beta for you. Create the chase on a separate playback first, and then you can trigger / release it from any cue within your "main" playback. In the cue you wish to trigger the chase, select the "Cue Settings" column and press Enter, choose "Macros" and then choose "Add" next to "Trigger Cue Stacks". You can now choose which playback to trigger. You can then do the same in a following cue to release that playback (the advantage of this method is the chase can be running across multiple cues). Yes - if you hold down RECORD, you'll get a record window appear, and in here you can choose "Cue Only". Yes - if you press SHIFT + RECORD together, this will take a "snapshot", which will block the tracking. There's also a "snapshot" button in the Record Window (see previous question). You can change this behaviour if you wish. Go into one of the Playback Settings (hold SETUP + press the playback flash button), go to "Trigger" and then set "Release on lower" to "no". We're going to add much better timing syntax into a future release - currently scheduled as ZerOS 7.8.5. We're planning to show you what our plan is for the next couple of software releases to be as transparent and open as we can be, but we just need to confirm a few things internally first! If you're in non-tracking, you can just go into the cue you wish to copy and then record it to the new cue. In tracking mode, you'll need to enable "Smart Tag" or "Snapshot" in the Record Window (by pressing and holding Record). We'll be releasing copy syntax shortly which'll mean you aren't required to go into the cue to record it. Not currently. However, we have had other requests for this, and so I have added your comment to it too. Reference: ZOS-4952 "12 @ 70 Enter Update Enter" should work fine and update this cue. Please can you try again? I know in the beta you are using there's a little bug occasionally regarding ENTER sometimes not completing the syntax - and we'll have a fix for that in the next couple of days, and it is only occasionally - not always. Hope this all helps, Jon

We are! New software will be released shortly, and we have two more releases of software that we've started on for after that, bringing additional features such as a blind mode, additional chase options etc
-
Hi Ray, Sorry - not sure why this post got missed, we were completing our list of requested fixtures today. I'll work on these tomorrow for you. Regards Jon P.S. By the way, if you ever require a very urgent fixture, there are tools available here to create your own too.
-
Hi Ray, I'm sorry to hear you've faced problems... please could you drop me a personal message with your contact details and when would be convenient to call you tomorrow, and we'll go through the problems you've been having. We can update the software for you at the same time. Until then, here are a few replies to specific comments: Which fixtures do you require? Who have you requested them from? I've been making fixture files today and have finished all the outstanding requests as far as I'm aware. We can easily make the fixture files you need for you, or there's free software for you to make them yourself. Found your post on the forum now - sorry, not sure why that one got missed. We'll work on it tomorrow morning. The app works as a remote monitor for the console, so unless we included the whole of ZerOS within the app, there wouldn't be a way of doing this. All the best, Jon

submaster - on FLX, this is just a playback with a single cue. We've brought our sub settings over to playbacks. cue/preset - yes group - see below chase - yes, when you record a second state, you can choose to record a second cue, or create a chase effect - effects ("wave based") can be included directly within any cue sequence - I think this is what we just call a cue stack, so yes - multiple cues can be put on any playback dimmer - yes, the fader function button allows you to switch the 24 faders between playbacks and channels pallet - not currently. Out of interest, what functionality would the fader do in this situation? We have group submasters available on ORB XF. I've added an issue to pull similar functionality into FLX, and add that the function button should act as a select button for that group. Yes definitely, all 241 playbacks can have a single cue (equivalent of a "submaster"), or multiple cues (and the flash button works as a GO button), or be turned into a chase (flash button can be BMP speed etc). Any cue can contain any effect directly. ("chases" = step based, "effects" = wave based).

Here you go Jamie, Lanta Orion Link v2 7ch.ift

Hi CTLX, Please find attached the fixture file for the Inno Spot LED. Inno Spot LED.ift Save the file on to a USB stick (don't hide it within any folders), plug it into the console, go into SETUP > Files > "Load User Fixtures". Choose the file, and click OK. This will then load them into the main library (you should get a popup saying "1 fixture type loaded") ready for you to patch them in the normal way.

Hi jw-lighting, If you drop me an email, I can send you a later version of software which we're currently testing and close to releasing. Regards Jon
-
Hi Ziglight, Terminology is different between manufactures. We've removed the idea of our old "submasters" from FLX, and given you 241 "playbacks" (aka Cue Stacks). A cuestack can have a whole state, or you can be very specific with what's recorded onto them, so if you want just a colour palette's information, you can record a "cue" with just that colour information, which references back to the colour palette. Effects can be required directly into a cue too, and a playback can be turned into a chase very easily. If there's a specific function you would like to know about, let me know what you'd like to achieve, and I'll let you know if it's possible.

PresetMixMode gets stuck and woun't change
Jon Hole replied to ziglight's topic in Solution & Solution XL
What version of software you are running? This seems to be working fine for me... -
Hi Ziglight, You can export to a CSV file (comma separated values, which can then be imported into a spreadsheet application such as Excel etc). We can also import ASCII Showfiles. Currently, we don't export ASCII or import CSV but it's on the to-do list!

They are called "ZerOS Unlock Dongle" and the Zero 88 part number is 00-887-00. They are available through all our Zero 88 distributors, and you'd need to talk to your local distributor for pricing.
-
We're calling it "ZerOS Wing" and it has 24 faders. It works on all ZerOS consoles, including Phantom ZerOS. (A software update will have to be released to other consoles before they support ZerOS Wing).
-
just the playback wing
-
The Solution has a single playback (called a memory stack on Solution). Submasters are very limited in what they can be - they can each have a single state, whereas FLX can have 241 playbacks, each with multiple cues present. This makes programming for both theatre and busking much more flexible and easier.
-
Currently they can be Select (Channels), GO (playbacks) or BMP (chases). Flash, Solo etc will be coming soon - it's currently set to one of the highest priorities to release. If you're in tracking mode this should work without an issue, as long as you tag the correct parameters (you can tag and untag by tapping the parameter on the LCD above the wheel, or holding CLEAR whilst moving the wheel). In the next software updating (currently testing) there's a record window available that will allow you to filter specific attributes. Not currently - the external monitor if fixed for now. Yes. Record the macro first, and then using the syntax RECORD MACRO x {UDK}, where 'x' is the number of the Macro you've recorded.
-
You could do this using MIDI Show Control (MSC). More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIDI_Show_Control

Yes, ZeroWire was a very old wireless system we used to manufacture, which can be configured within ZerOS. It's not the same as our current ZeroWire CRMX system. Enttec Playback Wings are supported within ZerOS, and on FLX. Cucolino - what requires rebooting? The Enttec Wing, or the console?
-
Hi All, Sorry for my delay in replying to these comments. Looks like you've solved the main problem regarding offsetting effects, which is great - you're right that the LCD only shows the first fixture, so when using "fan first", it appears the first one isn't changing. We're looking at bringing this feature back over to FLX in time. (regarding views). As you've correctly mentioned, ZerOS on FLX is considerably different to ZerOS on other consoles. For starters, it's been rewritten for an ARM processor. Over time, we'll release more and more features, but we're not going to simply port over exactly the same interface as on an ORB, as that wouldn't be the right thing to do for the FLX console or the user base we've aimed the console at. FLX is aimed at saving the user time and being super intuitive, whilst also having a large feature set, including functions not seen before. Having to setup displays and navigate through windows doesn't achieve that aim, so we're working on a better way to get to things like cue previews and DMX windows.
