It's about time for the next update on ZerOS development

The other option would be a piece of show control software, such as QLab (although that’s macOS only) which can play the Thunder sound effect and automatically trigger the Lightning lighting effect over OSC. -

For now, it's our intention to receive OSC, not transmit. This aligns with our other triggering protocols such as MIDI and Vision.Net. -

It's led me to think about our Macro's window, along with the size of the soft buttons in that window, too. -
If ZerOS was outputting the values we expected, but the fixture wasn't responding correctly, that would be helpful... however, in this situation, ZerOS isn't outputting the values we'd expect when you select a Colour Filter so, at this stage, we don't need the manual - but thank you.

Hi @Davidmk - would be interested to hear what you have planned with OSC. What would you like to achieve? What other tools / software will you be using with FLX over OSC? -
Thanks for sharing Thierry. Sorry you're seeing this issue. There's nothing I can see that's causing an issue, so I've passed this onto the software team to review (reference ZOS-11458). Jon

This thread is from November 2019, it's not recent and it was pre-merger with Vari-Lite.

We'll take a look, but this showfile has gone from ZerOS 7.9.4 to ZerOS 7.13, so a LOT has changed - nine software updates across almost 5 years! It's almost certainly related to the major changes to SETUP in ZerOS 7.9.5. The release notes had the following text:
-
Hi Thierry, Can you share your showfile please so we can take a look? Jon
-
Showfiles saved in ZerOS had the filetype .isf right up to ZerOS 7.9.8 when it changed to .zos

Using DMXking eDMX4 PRO Interface with FLX S48
Jon Hole replied to DALX's topic in FLX S24 & FLX S48
You can't have two IP addresses the same on the network... you need two unique IP addresses, but that are within the same subnet. So, for example 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2 -
Hi Gray, The blue bar is the command line, not a scroll bar. To scroll, just use your cursor as if it’s your finger - click-and-hold on the buttons and drag left/right. You’re viewing the LCD window, which is emulating the internal built-in screen on the console - therefor it’s fixed at a specific resolution and cannot be changed.

The two platforms are vastly different in many ways, both from a user's perspective and a development perspective (written in different languages, compiled for different operating systems, etc). Now that we're all one team we regularly compare and contrast the two platforms and share ideas. There's plenty that ZerOS can learn from Neo and there's plenty that Neo can learn from ZerOS. That said, the two systems fulfil significantly different purposes - a benefit which we're keen not to loose - which means Neo has some features that will never come to ZerOS, and ZerOS has some features that will never come to Neo. Not in the UK, but in the Commonwealth 🙂 Interestingly, the software that Neo was originally based on was exclusively sold by Zero 88 and actually used the old Zero 88 Library, so there's been a full circle! Vari-Lite now own both code sets and employ all the relevant developers! -
Added a comment to ZOS-8756 which is related to various updates to the Edit DMX Address window... but it won't be for ZerOS 7.14, sorry.
-
This is deliberately blank to indicate that the DMX Start Address is not going to be changed unless you enter a number (for situations like you describe, where you want to change the universe but not the start address). We can think about if we can make this more clear. Maybe if all the selected fixtures are addressed sequentially, in order, with no gaps, we could show the address (as in this scenario there would be no difference if we did or didn't renumber them), but all other situations they remain blank. This is pre-populated and selected for me - not for you? Actually, I'd say this is "wrong" currently, as if I select two fixtures on two different universes, I'm only shown the first universe number.

Our domain wizards have made a few more changes... seems to have fixed things. Would be interested to know if you can edit your posts now?

You’ll need to wait until the first beta release for those, sorry! -
What have we been working on? Unsurprisingly... ZerOS 7.14. We’ve had a two year period of massive updates - five software releases which have introduced the all-new ZerOS Library, built in Fixture Creator & Editor, improved Fixture Search & Fixture Filtering, GDTF support, multicell support, multiple colour emitter support, colour temperature control, referencing colour filters and support for KiNet, Vision.Net & Philips Hue. There have also been improvements such as Move-on-Dark per cue, Phantom ZerOS improvements, Move functionality, increase / decrease syntax and tweaks to how Home works. Therefore, ZerOS 7.14 is a “spring clean”, focused on simplicity, consistency, performance and stability. There will be over 130 improvements and enhancements. However, that doesn’t mean there won’t be new features. Expect to see OSC (Open Sound Control), DMX and Vision.Net input (over RS485) and a new Fixture Macros interface. No timeframe for release yet, but we hope to start beta testing within the next month. If you’re not part of our beta test group, and would like to be, do drop us an email! We’re also excited to announce that this will be the last significant release of ZerOS 7. The next major release of ZerOS will be ZerOS 8 (but more on that another day…).

OK, thanks, I'll look into this. Editing time is set to "unlimited" for all registered users, so not sure why that would be.

No, you can go straight to ZerOS 7.13

Once you've made a Playback "Programmer Time", the flash button will turn Programmer time On/Off. You can see this turning on/off the "MFF Window": -
Yes, it's been logged as ZOS-11074 and we've now fixed the issue. The fix will be included within our next release - targeting the next month or two.

Hi Ian, There’s no difference in the record window. Just press record and tap an empty group.
