FAT FROG - Help Creating Fixture Profile
Jon Hole replied to RCRLIGHTING's topic in General Discussion
You're right - all consoles will auto-allocate the encoders if they aren't defined. The wheel groups just give you more control (one of the main reasons I use them is to have the same parameter on multiple pages - for example focus) -
In the next beta of ZerOS (7.9.1.3) this has been fixed, which a new item in the menu to take you back to the Command Syntax We'll have a think about a quicker way of jumping to a particular page. However, I think we have to accept that there are some things which are just always going to be quicker and easier on the console itself - recording 304 playbacks might be one of them

Hi Simonkbike, The Chilli 4 is a "HF" rack - that means it has 4 x relays and also 4 x 0-10v dimming, which combined are used when dimming fluorescents and the like. It sounds like your installation has used this just to provide 4 relay channels, and they're just ignoring the 0 - 10v, which is quite common. Therefore, you should be able to go into manual, like you say, and turn them to full to turn them on. I don't see a logical reason why that wouldn't work, so I'd first suggest you try that again on the 4 channel unit. Another option would be to simply record those 4 channels onto a submaster, and leave that submaster at full. The only things that could then affect those channels would be the 4 channel faders (maybe tape over them?) and the grandmaster (other submasters / cues wouldn't be able to affect them). An even better option would be to patch 4 "video" channels (there is a video channel fixture in the patch library under "standard fixtures") to those 4 addresses, and record that those at full onto a submaster. Although it sounds strange, because video channels are beamshape parameters rather than intensities, they aren't affected by the grandmaster / blackout button, and because they'd be a fixture, it's far harder to select them and wheel the parameter up/down by accident compared to just touching one of the faders. Hope this makes sense?

Hi, I don't think the manual was ever released in Portuguese or Spanish I'm afraid. The manual in English is available here: http://zero88.com/support/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/281/

Keith charges in Fruit Pastilles. Ian charges in sticky buns. Based on that, you can decide who to go to -
LED colour change times on solution
Jon Hole replied to phil at hayling's topic in Solution & Solution XL
Ed's correct - you need to change the Colour fade time. On Solution, we show the fade time of whichever attribute is currently selected (Colour, Beamshape or Position) so press "Colour" and you'll see the colour fadetimes appear in the Cue List. -
You'll be able to press RECORD, go to the Playbacks page, and press the flash button of the playback - just like you do on a real console
-
In ZerOS 7.9.1 (ORB Series) and ZerOS 7.9.2 (Solution Series & FROG2) we remove Submasters and everything becomes a Playback. FLX is already like this. Everything is progressing to that point, unfortunately at different speeds, but that's the end goal in the next month or two.

Thank you - done :-)

Hi JonB13, Which one of the two above have you downloaded? Jon
-
Hi jonnip, If you send us what you've done, we can take a look and let you know where you've gone wrong - so you know for next time.
-
Hi Joe, I've just added you to Test Flight, to try the new app. Apple should email you with instructions on how to do this. Please give it a go and let me know your feedback. All the best, Jon
-
Yes, you're correct. Glad it's working - thanks Kevin!

Hi Sven, If you press SHIFT + a UDK together, the MFF window will open. We'll get the Fader Function button working again for the next release (reference ZOS-7427) Jon

As part of our aim to improve fixture support across the Zero 88 range, there's a new, single way of requesting fixture profiles from Eaton. However, first, please ensure we don't already support the fixture you require: Please ensure you've updated to the latest fixture library, which can be downloaded from this link: http://zero88.com/software/library A full list of the currently supported fixtures can be found here: http://zero88.com/support/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/581/ The Zero 88 Fixture Tools also allow you to create a custom profile yourself, and load it into your console: http://zero88.com/support/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/49/ If the above options are not suitable, a new email address has been setup for requesting profiles: FixtureSupport@Zero88.com Please ensure you supply full details of the fixture (Make, Model, Mode etc) and a download link to the Operating Manual.

That's true, sorry. I've added a link to the manual in the software release post I made on Friday: zero88.com/forum/topic/7781-zeros-791-flx-released/

We released ZerOS 7.9.1 on the website on Friday, along with the manual. However, we're trying to stagger the downloads - so we'll do some posts about it this week
-
Ah ok, on the current effects engine, as you play around with individual parameters, changing the size and the speed, they can become out of sync with each other. To solve this, either record it somewhere and play it back, or enter and exit blind mode, which re-syncs everything

Hi Jan, I've been partly waiting to see if other people will reply to this (sadly they haven't) and partly waiting until I had enough time to look into this in more detail. I 100% agree with everything you say. However, we've got a vision to take this much further, implementing something that covers everything you mention above but makes it even easier, simpler and more visual. I'll try and get some mockups over the next few weeks, but before that, I'd be interested to see what others (and yourself) would suggest if we scrapped the effects engine completely and started again!

Hi Joe, which console are you using, and which version of ZerOS software is running on it?
-
Yep, it is. Phantom ZerOS allows you to pick any of the IP addresses your computer has assigned (wired, wireless etc). If you want to change one of the IPs, you need to change it on the computer itself, rather than through Phantom ZerOS. However, I think you're running Phantom ZerOS on a Mac through WINE... in which case, I'm not so sure if it'll work or not.

The current plan is the first release, but sometimes we decide to split features out so we can do more regular releases. For example, instead of waiting 12 months for 4 features, it would mean you're only waiting 12 months for one of the features as the others have already been released (although usually that means we get complaints that the last three features are late, rather than the truth which is that the first three features are early!)
