  1. Hi Tom, Simplest option is to just output Art-Net or streaming ACN from the ORB XF straight into WYSIWYG. This can't be done from Phantom ZerOS unless you purchase the "Phantom ZerOS Unlock Dongle". If you don't need to use WYSIWYG, and can use Capture instead, we have demo showfiles (for both your laptop and the ORB XF), along with PDF instructions, available to download here: http://eatonfilesharing.box.com/Zero88. You can use Phantom ZerOS free of charge using CITP. Let us know the setup and we can give you more specific information. Jon
  2. Zero 88 are pleased to announce the launch of ZerOS version 7.9.3 software - a new software release for ORB Series, Solution Series, FLX & FLXS, SCD Server (& Pro) and Leap Frog 48 & 96. More information can be found at zero88.com/software/zeros If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at the office. Our contact details are: email: support@zero88.com phone: 01633 838088 Best Regards,
  3. There are multiple physical processors in all our consoles. For Solution, if we can reduce the load on the Co-Processor which powers the LCDs (by moving functionality away from MFKs, and onto the main processor which has plenty of head room) then this would hopefully help. We ship triple figure Solution consoles every year, and have only received a very small handful of complaints about performance from high-end users who really push the console's functionality... every release we're simplifying and optimising the software to improve the performance.
  4. Thanks for the replies so far. The MFKs are not a particularly intuitive way of navigating menus (especially SETUP etc). Therefor, if we concentrated our development on using a mouse & monitor, and removed the limitation of using MFKs this could (a) make the user interface more intuitive, and (b) potentially help speed up the refresh of the LCDs as we wouldn't be using them (and hence changing them) so regularly. Would you be happy if you HAD to use a mouse and monitor (or touchscreen) for areas like SETUP, Playback Settings etc?
  5. Hi Veit, What device are you using to output MIDI from the computer? Jon
  6. Fair point - I've updated the question to "How do you (usually) use your Solution?" - realistically we'll only get a handful of responses, and so more descriptive answers in the comments is more helpful than the closed answers from the poll
  7. We're interested in how you use your Solution. Specifically, wether you use a mouse and/or touchscreen. Our aim has always been to allow Solution to work "stand alone" (ie, no monitor or mouse required). As ZerOS evolves, and we place more significance on graphical elements and multi-touch user interfaces, keeping Solution "stand alone" is becoming more and more difficult to achieve. Understanding how you use Solution will help us best develop for your needs.
  8. There's a "red step on" and "red step off" effect - those sound like what you want to do :-)
  9. Hi Oliver, Currently, FLX S supports subfixtures (or "compound fixtures") via direct control on the encoder wheels only (so, for example, you could manually create a step-based chase onto a Playback). However - we're currently implementing true support for compound fixtures into ZerOS, which we're expecting to release in Q1 or Q2 of 2018. On FLX S, this will give you some further control on linear fixtures such as Sunstrips and LED battens. Jon
  10. On Friday we're launching our FLX hints & tips Advent Calendar - 25 videos & Knowledge Base articles showing how to get the most out of your FLX console. These will be distributed on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. We'll post them below too, but this will be manually rather than automatically, so there maybe some delay (especially over weekends and towards the Christmas Holiday).
  11. Definitely sounds like a DMX compliance issue on the fixtures. FLX S has two outputs - a 3pin and a 5pin. If you have a 1 Universe FLX S, by default both ports will output the same DMX data, but the 5pin will include RDM and the 3pin won't include RDM. This behavior can be changed in SETUP > Inputs & Outputs. Another useful trick is addressing the fixture into the higher numbers. Usually above address 32 helps, but if not above address 257 should definitely help.
  12. My what?! Everything's saved on the cloud* now Ian! *(by "saved", I mean "searched". And by "cloud", I mean "Google").
  13. Most (possibly all?) Apple keyboards have a built in USB hub, which might be causing it not work.
  14. Thanks, marketing will get this updated :-) Kevin's correct :-)

Hi Pip, There's more information on ZerOS & FROG2 here: http://zero88.com/forum/topic/7970-frog2-zeros/ Jon
  16. Hi Kevin, go to SETUP then: - on FLX S and/or beta software - in the Fixture Schedule tap the fixture type which takes you to “Add Fixtures” and allows you to change the fixture - on release software of all other consoles - in Patch Overview, go to the “type” column and tap “change”. This takes you to the Patch Wizard where you can change the mode or press “back” to change the fixture type This is slightly different if patched via RigSync. In this situation, when the new fixture is discovered, renumber it to the same number as the original fixture and choose “merge”
  17. Hi Jon, On FLX S, we streamlined the patching process to make it much quicker and simpler than other ZerOS consoles. We're about to expand this even further by adding Search, Offsets and Universe overviews in the next software release. The change in name from "Patch Wizard" to "Add Fixtures" was a relatively last minute change based on user feedback, as they saw this phrase to be much more clear to novice users. The manuals, videos, Guidance etc all point to using SETUP > Add Fixtures. However, you're right - within the Z button is an option that we missed when doing that last minute change to improve the console, and we have fixed that in the latest beta. Hope this makes sense, Jon
  18. We just need as much information as possible please. For example, a screenshot of that prompt ?
  19. I've not encountered this problem on Win7 or Win10. Please can you explain exactly what's not getting copied across?
  20. Welcome to the new Zero 88 Community Support Forum! We have a fresh appearance, clean layout, many new features and a fully "responsive" design for use on mobiles & tablets. Previous users - you used to have a "Username" and a "Display Name" (many users had the same for both). This new forum only uses the "Display Name", so you must login using either your Display Name or your email address. For example, my old username was "jonhole", but my display name was "Jon Hole". I now log in using "Jon Hole" (including the space). This is the second stage of upgrades to our website, having launched our new Knowledgebase last month - support.zero88.com We hope you like the changes!
  21. The transfer has now been complete. Thank you for your patience and understanding, and sorry for the inconvenience caused!
  22. Dear all, We are expecting to take our forum offline for a couple of days whilst we backup our databases and transfer over to a new web server. This is preparation for upgrading our forum software - the next stage of improvements to the Zero 88 website, which started last month with a new Knowledgebase. At present, we're unsure of the exact timings - but we'll endeavor to minimize our time offline. All the best, Jon
