  1. Hi guys How do i make plans like the ones in this thread? Do i need some special software? If so where do I get it? Thanks
  2. Hi Guys I'm looking for tips on the best way to light a cyc.... Basically we use lots of Pars with scrollers, or Mac 300's when we can afford to hire them in :-D I'm just after some advice on how to get a nice, even spread on the cyc.... It's only 4m High and 9m Wide, but I can never get a nice, even spread :-( Any pics would help too! Moderation: Moved to Venues and Events forum.
  3. this is about the only decent pic I can find :-( It was Anything Goes, the school production last February....
  4. thanks for that, still sounds confusing, but as I said, think it will be easier when I have the real thing in front of me operating real lights!! If only i could 'borrow' one for a week or so lol! Thanks
  5. ah i see, i think that makes sense... Is there any kind of tutorials about, similar to the guide done by Sam Henderson on the Frog range? Just as I get my head around one desk, we need to upgrade to a completely different one!! Also do Zero88 do the free training courses on the Frog 2? I've managed to use Phantom Frog2 to program a few memories, and all seems fine.... How do i, however, make (example) cue 3, fade into cue 4 over 6 seconds? Do i just change the fade time on every fixture to 6.0? Also, i'm still not sure about this chase thing..... if i've got cues 1 to 10 on memory stack one, but want a chase to occur at cue 5, do i programme the chase in a different stack, then tell cue 5 in memory stack one to jump over to the other cue in memory stack 2? Argh, confusing!!!
  6. hmmm, still very confused, but sure it will be easier once I have the desk here.... So in theory i could just use the cues the way I would if on a Fat Frog? The desk is for a production of Jesus Christ Superstar, so there will be a few chases etc, bit worried about how to programme these in? Whats the Macro idea all about? Say i had a scene set of generic channels, and i have 8 Mac 205's which I want to kind of 'chase' continuously, and change colour at the same time? how would I go about programming this? thanks for all the help - it's much appreciated!
  7. right, think we've found somewhere to hire the desk.... Could you just elaborate on how cues are stored on the Frog 2. With the Fat Frog, i'm used to having them numbers, so for example, my last show was just cues 1 to 124... whats all this cue stcking business? Does it all work the same (ie. just keep pressing GO to the next cue?) Sorry for all the stupid questions, but I want to get on top of this so I kind of know what i'm doing when the desk arrives!! Thanks
  8. excellent, sounds fine then :-D Hopefully the hire comapny can supply the Frog 2, so far they have only offered the Avol Pearl 2004 - now I imagine that's a whole new world!!!! :-( Thanks K nine.
  9. i've got the quick start guide.... Programming fixtures etc seems fine, but how about the generic stuff? Do i just choose the dimmer pack i need and then just use the faders for each channels? Amazingly it seems the simplest functions are the ones worrying me!!! Thanks K-Nine.
  10. Please help guys! we are hiring in a Frog 2 for our Production in July. We currently use a Fat Frog, and I will only have 4 days or so to get used to, and programme up the Frog 2. I'll be using about 72 Generic channels, 12 moving heads, 12 colour scrollers, 2 haze, and 2 smoke machines. my question is, am I being stupid? Will i need more time than this to get used to it and programme it up? I'm very confident with programming the Fat Frog, but I'd imagine the Frog 2 is a whole new ball game.... Please advise!!!! Thanks
  11. ignore that... done it :-D
  12. I still cant manage to get the superuser menu up... I right click on + and - to make them red, then click enter, nothing happens? I do the same, then right click again on + and - to take the red dot away, and nothing - getting confused! Thanks
  13. hi mate any news on this? need to get something sorted for our next production!

    USB

Is there any way I can do this? I want to swap the floppy drive for a USB one.... surely someone has bodged one in!
  15. Thanks K-Nine Just done both (tried 10 times in a row) and reformatted twice on PC, and twice on desk, still no joy :-(
  16. Tried to upgrade mine this morning, but it's having none of it. Formatted the disc in the Frog, copied the files from PC onto it, power off, put in disc, power on, does a little pre-loader to 100%, then just carrys on with normal start up. I've checked the OS on the Frog, it's still 8. something. Where have I gone wrong!? Thanks
  17. i've managed to use the Fixture Type Editor thanks, very impressive ;-)
  18. of course they don't sit and wait for something to happen, it would be useful though, and a bit of luck if there is a tech support person there to help!
  19. Just like MSN and the like, it would be so useful when you need a quick reply!
  20. cheers, i'll have a go. So does the percentage of the sub memory determine the brightness, or the speed of the chase? Can this be changed? I wish their was a real-time chat thing on this forum! (hint hint!)
  21. I know it may be a bit optimistic, but maybe there should be some sort of trade-in scheme. We bought a Fat Frog a few years back, but now need something bigger. A trade in would be ideal, but as usual, the local suppliers aren't interested :-( All I want is a Frog 2
  22. I asked this on the old forum but can't find it now... I need my generics and macs to do random (FROG) things in time with a music input. I also want this on a submaster (this bit relates to my previous post a few minutes ago) so the 100% on the sub turns the chase on in time with the audio input, and 0% obviously turns it off Any help much appreciated! thanks
  23. are you saying the macs are effectivley being 'dimmed' everytime you turn the master up or down??? I'd suggest getting proper power to them - these things don't like the power being dimmed!!!!
