  1. Hi Glen, The desks I,ve used before where Strand last one being a series 300. On the leap frog I'am currently running 108 dimmer channels,6 Clay Pakey Tiger Scans,6 colour scrollers and 2 Mac 250s. The reason I say its not bad is because I've always used strands been lighting for 28 years,so I was comfortable with using them, then my tech manager purchased the leap frog so I was forced to come out of my comfort zone. But just this last week I lit an amateur production of The Pirates of Penzance and managed to get the production (120 cues)programmed in the desk it took about 12 hours, but then I do make hard work for myself ,and I am very self critical and like every cue to be spot on. In the end the production looked great I was well pleased. So you could say I've probabley mastered the leap frog I also do a lot of shows on the fly which it handles quite well when you got the desk set up so yopu can find what you want when you want it.Hope this is helpfull. 2. Hi Glenn, I have been a using leap frog 48 in our theatre, for about 12 months.Once you get use to it its not bad. Brian Eades
  3. Hi Peter, I think I discussed this with you before. When a touring company come to our venue, and get round to putting say 80 memories in the desk.We set the stage, record as cue 1,then say cue 8,cue15 etc. Then set up another state record as cue 2 cue 10 cue 19 etc.so on until 80 cues are progammed into the desk. Problem is each block of cues with the same state after the first cue no times are recorded and you cannot put the times in after(unles there is a way. I have found a way round this problem set up each batch with a dimmer(not being used)in or out this recordes the default time. I understand the fact that because the perameters have not moved no time will appear.Thats why I fool it by inputting a phantom dimmer. Is there a way around this. Another feature you might consider is a notification of time set on the manual overide Knob Many Thanks, Brian
  4. You will find you have four opions Auto,Manual,Bass and Beat.I use personally use Bass,if Iam near our sound desk, mind you there has to be a bass beat If not I use Auto.Hope this helps.
  5. Thanks for that Peter I am not due back to the theatre until 14th Jan so I'll give this a try,I think I know what you are saying. Look forward to meeting you in Feb. Brian
  6. Hi Peter, Thanks for that, tried that but chase still chases with step one locked. My technical manager and myself had a go but some how got a build chase going. This is what we did disabled smart tag,set up first step record to a submaster, press clear program screen empty, set up step two record to same sub chose to record as a chase, press clear, repeated for step three record to same sub.Put sub result step one static other two chase.by the way my tech manager is going to arrange a training course in our venue,he should be in touch.
  7. Is it possible to edit memory blind (say Q.23) when another memory is has been played back(say Q.25)live.If so as I have tried this the blind screen does not inform you what memory you are about to edit blind. Look forward to any replies thanks. Brian
  8. Is it possible to inhibit a generic fixture if it is not doing what you want it to do,ie colour burns out or gets knocked out of focus. It could then be ihibited from the other memories until end of show when you can then put the lamp right.
  9. Hi, Have the latest version installed, but I cannot programme a chase with 4 steps.I can go through the motions i.e.Set up a state, record to a submaster, set up a second state record to the same sub (turn into a chase)set up a third chase saved this step, set up fourth the same way. On playback chase works but step one stays on through out.Any suggestions.
  10. this has happened to myself during our pantomine I updated a cue to add 4 parcans ,the next cue was a black out these same 4 pars stayed in the black out.In the end I had to overwrite the cue.
  11. Hi Everyone I'm new to this so be gentle. When I record cues some cues have a blank time instead of default time, as a result cue playes back as a snap, unless you use the override knob. You cannot even edit the times. Brian Eades
