Do you have the latest software on the desk? sp
-
ah yeah found it now lol sp
-
Yeah go into Super User (Hold + and -), then select Illumination. You can adjust Brightness and Contrast for each screen from there. sp
-
Well if that's easily sorted then I'd say definitely yes. I don't think you'd ever want such a painful strobe, would you?... sp
-
Well there isn't any real need to hold blackout is there? If you want to be able to hold down a button to produce a blackout, u could program a sub with a blackout then solo it when needed. sp

Exactly the same situation I just happened to re-read your post, Steph, and you really are in an identical situation to us - our Strand GLX is also not as good as it was, and has just been sent off for repair! sp

That's really one great thing about the frogs to seriously consider when comparing desks; if you ever need any help, there's an excellent and very quick-responding support forum ready to answer your questions. sp
-
That's my point, is there any chance in the future of being able to 'transfer' from one cue to another? sp
-
The frogs are certainly very easy to get started with - most people can just have very basic instruction of the desk and away they go. The software is so easy to use that it's quite hard to do things wrong really, and the manuals are excellent too. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Highly recommended. What sort of equipment are you intending to use with the desk? sp

Yeah I may well end up using the scenes on submasters instead. I'd love to use pallettes but I didn't realise they could be used with HTP values. Can they? If so, how? sp
-
I know it's possible to transfer memories to submasters, so that any changes to the memory change all the submasters. But, is it possible to do this from memory to memory? My reason for asking is I've got a show coming up with many small plays. I'm receiving cue sheets, most of which just need 'basic cover' and a couple of variations. I can't rig for a couple of weeks though, so can I program all my cues in any way, but link them to say, memories 1 and 2. So when I do rig, I can just program memories 1 and 2 as I like, and all the cues will adjust accordingly. I don't think this is possible but maybe I'm wrong... Not in time for my show obviously, but could it be implemented easily, like transfer to sub, but transfer to memory? sp

That's a great idea, I reckon the on-board fixture editing tool is worth time developing. sp
-
It's not ideal but it has been suggested before to have a laptop beside the desk, so you could use the phantom frog to show a particular screen. Obviously any changes would have to be updated on the phantom, but you could show your cues on there and just click the on-screen Go button when pressing the real one, not ideal as I say, but just a suggestion... sp

(as above) Cheers to all the really helpful guys on the forums. sp

Yeah I think X-Terminator is right, being able to map LTP to a submaster I don't think is possible currently, but it has certainly been discussed in length detail on the forums - have a search. sp
-
Haytech's right you should at least try having your macs seperate. Put them each on their own fixture and turn on the FROG function, I'm sure it would look great. sp

Found it now. - In this instance I was asking about submasters... So for generics you could just use the preset A and B faders, but if you're using intelligents as well then I don't think there is a way. sp
-
This would be a brilliant feature that I would use endlessly - I've asked about it before on the forum (can't find the link just now) and I seem to remember the answer was no. sp
-
Just a thought. There's one problem I could see with simply locking the entire desk: If any of the faders were fiddled with while the desk is locked, although the lighting state wouldn't change immediately, it would do as soon as you unlock the desk. My suggestion would be to have an outputs screen, where any faders that are moved whilst the desk is locked are shown up as a bright flashing channel on the screen, along with the value they were before the lock. This way, you could just tweak the faders to ensure that they are how they were before the lock, so your lighting state doesn't change when you unlock. Hope this makes sense, sp
-
Definitely 'b' - an entire lock of the desk would eliminate many worries sp
-
I know this lock problem remains an issue - can anything be done about it? I was running a show this evening and found that not only could any names be changed, but fade times too >> not good. Imagine what problems you could encounter without correct fade times or names? Could very easily ruin your show. And while I'm on the subject, why is it that when a submaster or cue is reprogrammed, it remembers its name (which is great ) but resets its fade times? The number of subs I've knocked straight up to 100% thinking a fade time was set, when it had actually been reset to 0 - very annoying, and quite baffling since the names are remembered. sp

What about typing in a channel value when editing (like i said above)? Have I read that somewhere or dreamt it up? sp
-
Ive always done it like that, never had any problems either. When you use the edit mode to reduce a channel, I read somewhere that you can select a channel and type in its value on the external keyboard - I can never get this to work though. sp

How much are they approximately? sp
