  1. Thanks for the pics. Who were the group by the way ?
  2. No, this is not correct - Whether generating fixture movement using the effects engine or using a position chase the desk calculates the final dmx values for the pan and tilt parameters of the relevant fixture(s) and sends out the data on the DMX as normal. What is different about mode 2 of the fixture ? - Please explain. The FX engine, as I said purely calculates the DMX values; The MAC 250+ fixture will respond depending on how it has been setup which is independent of the desk. I don't know enough about this individual fixture type to comment on what effect this may have on the pan/tilt movement - however, I do know that the default value for the Pan/Tilt Speed is set to zero in modes 3 and 4. According to the Martin data I have this equates to 'tracking'.
  3. The selection of the movement effect using the thumb wheel does appear to be a bug. Frog Reference No 5451 - Cannot select movement effect using the thumb wheel on the Phantom Frog. As to resizing of the front panel and monitor screen windows - I have passed that on to our software guru who will hopefully explain all
  4. For the preset B faders to control generic channels 25-48 check that you have wide mode selected. The Wide button is above the Grand master fader and the red light should be on if the desk is in Wide mode.
  5. Programming a palette, as with programming a memory or submaster can only be done down to the attribute level That is, when you program a colour palette, all the colour parameters for the tagged fixtures will be recorded into the palette. It is not possible to program down to individual fixture parameter (eg gobo wheel, iris) level in the current software.
  6. This subject has been raised by others, and is slightly more involved than you may first think  Check the following link for further discussions http://support.zero88.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3377
  7. Frog Reference 5355 - Position palettes should contain movement effect parameters, if defined, rather than just take the instantaneous pan/tilt values.
  8. The parameter details (red, gobo1 etc.) which are present for some, but by no means all, of the 650+ fixtures in our fixture library are there because the Frog Fixture Library was converted from the old Sirius 250/500 fixture library. The parameter details were left in because we knew that they could be utilised on the Illusion 500 with moving light software (currently in development). The Frog software does not read the parameter details from the fixture personality data. The wheel LCD display was also designed to show the DMX values of the fixture parameters. There are some fundamental differences between chases and palettes on the frog desks: A chase is a type of memory and as such not only has a number of steps, which can contain brightness, colour, beamshape and position data, it also has a number of modifiers which describe how it is output. A palette is simply a single set of stored colour, beamshape or position values for a number of fixtures. The simplest way to 'busk' easily would be to program your colour, beamshape, position chases as memories and then transfer them onto submasters. This is one of the functions we are planning to add in the next updates package. Frog Reference 5158.
  9. The monitor option and all the new monitor screens were added in Software Version 3 which was released approx. 2 years ago 8O
  10. Which desk default are you referring to - Colour, Beamshape or Position Action - each can be independently set to snap or fade. if the default is set to fade, then the memory will use the LTP Fade Time when it is triggered.
  11. Yes, you can have a brightness chase on a submaster. Record the chase memory and then transfer it onto a submaster. Note - that fixture brightness is HTP mixed from all sources which include the virtual faders, submasters and playback X.
  12. The generic fixtures are stored in the main fixture library which is on the upgrade disk which comes with the desk, or can be downloaded from this website. They are contained under a manufacturer name of <CONVENTIONALS> and include fresnel, parcan, flood, etc. All of these fixture types consist of a single brightness parameter.
  13. The Release Notes for version 8.1 and earlier versions of the frog series software can be found in the Software Releases forum.
  14. If you don't want to record colour and beamshape parameters when programming submasters, I would suggest the following: Ensure that the desk is in Partial Mode. Ensure that only the fixtures you want to record are tagged. Press and hold the POSITION button Press the PROGRAM button. Only the position parameters of the tagged fixtures will be recorded together with the current output levels of the generic channels and fixture brightness parameters (which are recorded by default).

Down load the latest Illusion software onto your PC Unzip the file. Copy the Illusion.osf file onto a clean formatted floppy disk. Power off the Illusion desk, insert the floppy disk and switch on. Follow the instructions on the monitor screen. When the upgrade has completed, remove the floppy disk, and switch the desk off and back on.
  16. Each generic channel on the frog series desks may be patched to a maximum of ten different DMX addresses. The additional instance of a generic channel is called a duplicate. Duplicates are patched via the manual patch screen which can be found in Super User under Desk Setup - Patch Functions - Manual Patch. See the frog series operating manual - page 6-7 for further details.

Hi, The Illusion 120 desk can generate a number of reports on channel usage, desk setup, memories, submasters etc. You need to go into Setup - Reports and generate the report you wish; you can then either print the report via a printer connected to the parallel port on the back of the desk, or save the report onto floppy disk, so that it can viewed or printed via a PC. See Operating Manual Page 3-6 for further details. Regards, K-Nine.
  18. There is a fault in the Phantom Frog software which means that the software version is incorrectly displayed as 0.0 8O Frog Reference No 5452 - If we update the Phantom Frog software, it should reflect which version of the actual Frog Series desk software it is equivalent to. The Phantom Frog is actually equivalent to version 8 of the Frog Series Software and should contain the same functionality as version 8 software on the real desks. Any updates made to the frog series software since version 8 will not appear in the Phantom Frog. When the new updates package is released, the Phantom Frog software will also be updated to match the new Frog Series software.
  19. When you have selected which frog series desk you want and displayed the front panel and monitor screens - you need to click on RUN in the Frog Offline window to start the desk software running in the simulator. You then use the mouse on the front panel to simulate what you would do on the real desk, eg move faders, press buttons etc. To get into Super User you need to Right click on the + and - keys so they both have a red dot in them; then click on the ENTER button. Right click on the + and - again to deselect them. You can then navigate through the Super User options in the same way as you would on the desk.
  20. A little paper bag was feeling unwell, so he took himself off to the doctors. "Doctor, I don't feel too good," said the little paper bag. "Hmm, you look OK to me," said the Doctor, "but I'll do a blood test and see what that shows, come back and see me in a couple of days." The little paper bag felt no better when he got back for the results. "What's wrong with me?" asked the little paper bag. "I'm afraid you are HIV positive!" said the doctor. "No, I can't be - I'm just a little paper bag!" said the little paper bag. "Have you been having unprotected sex?" asked the doctor. "NO, I can't do things like that - I'm just a little paper bag!" "Well have you been sharing needles with other intravenous drug users?" asked the doctor. "NO, I can't do things like that - I'm just a little paper bag!" "Perhaps you've been abroad recently and required a jab or a blood transfusion?" queried the doctor. "NO, I don't have a passport - I'm just a little paper bag!" "Well", said the doctor, "are you in a homosexual relationship?" "NO! I told you I can't do things like that, I'm just a little paper bag!" "Then there can be only one explanation." said the doctor ... Wait for it..... "Your mother must have been a carrier"
  21. OK, here goes .... The Fade Up and Fade Down times relate to the generic (dimmer) channels and fixture brightness channels only. If a channel is going from a lower value to a higher value - it will use the fade up time. If a channel is going from a higher value to a lower value - it will use the fade down time. The fixture colour, beamshape and position parameter outputs behave according to their corresponding colour, beamshape and position actions. If the action is snap, they will snap to their new values on pressing the Go button; if the action is fade, they will fade to their new values in the LTP fade time. Hope that makes things clearer ....
  22. The desk itself only holds the 20 common fixture types plus any additional fixture types that you may have assigned for the current show on the desk. The main fixture library (which contains approx 650 different fixture types) is normally held on a floppy disk. You can download the latest fixture library from the Zero 88 website and then copy it onto a floppy. To assign a fixture to a fixture type on the floppy disk follow the instructions on Page 6-5 of the user manual. It is also possible to change the set of common fixture types stored on the desk. For this you will need one of the fixture editing tools which can be downloaded from the Zero 88 website. This tool allows you to create your own common fixture type file containing up to 20 fixture types. Thsi file (called a CFT file) is then copied onto a floppy disk and can be loaded onto your desk via the Floppy Disk functions - see page 6-11 of the User manual for further details.
  23. With chases, the Position Action modifer determines how the outputs change between steps of the chase; either snap or fade. The modifier applies to all steps of the chase, therefore you can either snap between steps 1 and 2, and 2 and 1, or fade between them. It is not possible to snap between some steps and fade between others. There may be other ways of achieving the effect you want; I will have a think and let you know if I come up with any ideas
  24. Check that the Position action for the memory is set to Snap. This should ensure that the fixture moves as quickly as possible to the position in step 1 of the chase when you hit the GO button to output the memory. If it still takes a while to move to the initial position then this may be due to how the MAC itself is set up.
  25. The first thing you need to do is to put the desk into Partial Mode. This can be found in Super User - Desk Setup - Program Mode. When recording fixture data into memories or directly onto submasters, ensure that only the fixture(s) you want recorded are 'tagged'. This is indicated by the yellow light in the fixture selection button flashing. You can also record down to attribute level (eg colour, beamshape or position), by holding down the required button when you press Program. Note that the tagging only applies to the LTP parametere of the fixture; brightness is always recorded, so if you don't want a fixture on in a memory or submaster, ensure you turn it's brightness down before you press record.
