  2. I believe that when you are programming memories etc. on the desk, the data is stored in NVR first and then when that is full, the data is backed up onto flash. Maybe in my recent tests I have not programmed enough new data for the show to be backed to flash. As you have observed there also appears to be a problem when power cycling the desk, which results in the show file being reloaded from the flash memory. I'm sure our software guy will correct me if I'm wrong, but reloading the show from flash or floppy should be the same. I was just saying that in my recent tests, I could only reproduce the bug when reloading from floppy disk. Frog Reference No 5482 - Movement effects appear on memories after reloading show file from floppy or power cycling the desk - To be investigated. This problem is being looked into at the moment. We hope to have it fixed and a new version of software available by the end of this week (or early next week due to the Bank Holidays). As soon as the new software is available it will be announced in the Software Releases forum.
  3. Well done, Enrique, I think you've just remembered the important factor I have just tried it on a fat frog here, and the small rogue movement effects appear on the memories which were referencing static position palettes previously ... after you reload the show from floppy disk ! When I turned the desk off/on and effectively reloaded the show from flash, it looked OK. I will pass this information on to our software guy for further investigation.
  4. Like this one, for example:
  5. This bug has been fixed in Moving Light Software Release 1.4.
  6. .. or maybe it was those dodgy mushrooms that people used to eat (allegedly) in those days, that produced the psychedelic colours
  7. Illusion 500 Moving Light Software Release 1.4 This new version of software contains the following bug fix(es): Illusion Reference No 4720 - Desk locks up or crashes after editing as a result of mouse operation outside the Save As ... Window. To download the new software CLICK HERE Download the zip file onto your PC, unzip the file, copy the illusion.osf file onto a new or freshly formatted floppy disk, then upgrade your desk in the normal way.
  8. Do you notice these rogue movement effects after power cycling the desk or reloading a saved show from floppy ? I was wondering if it was the reloading of the show file from flash (after a power cycle) or from floppy that may somehow be corrupting the position palettes that you have recorded
  9. Even if you didn't put a movement effect (shape) into a position palette, were you referencing position palettes from your memories ? It's just that one of the changes in Release 9.0 was to allow movement effects to be recorded in position palettes, whereas previously it would just snapshot the pan/tilt output values. There were a few bugs in the beta software in this functionality and I was wondering whether this current problem may be related :?:
  10. If the wheel groups are not specifically set up in the fixture type data file, the desk will automatically assign the fixture parameters to their respective wheel groups in the order that they appear in the fixture file. Therefore, if I create a new fixture type which has for example, a colour wheel and Cyan, Magenta and Yellow parameters, I will always enter Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and colour wheel parameters in that order (regardless of which DMX channel they may be on). When the fixture type is loaded onto the desk - Colour wheel group 1 will be Cyan, Magenta and Yellow; wheel group 2 will contain the colour wheel. The exception is the Position parameters, where Pan and Tilt are always assigned to the thumb wheel and first finger wheel respectively in Position wheel group 1. So, basically, that would be a YES
  11. Most things (within reason) are possible, but it is up to the management to decide where best to spend our resources, both in time and effort. We have to divide our time between supporting and improving existing products and developing new ones, and currently most of the effort is going on the latter
  12. Very close Sam, anyone would think you've actually read the manual or been doing some training on the Frogs Your explanation is correct except for the fact that memory 20 will be output for 40 seconds , and the bit about the fade down. At the end of the dwell of memory 20, memory 21 will automatically start. brightness channels which are higher in memory 21 will fade up in the fade up time (of memory 21), channels which are lower in memory 21 will fade down in the fade down time (of memory 21). Hope that makes it even clearer
  13. Have you tried asking those nice people in the BLUE ROOM ?
  14. The fan function is based on the fixture numbers of the selected fixtures, not their DMX addresses. The idea is that if you are going to use the fan function especially in conjunction with the movement effect generator, then you would number your fixtures according to how they are setup in the rig. The DMX addresses that the fixtures is irrelevant as far as the fan function goes. An FX generator on the other attributes would have to be designed differently to the movement effect generator, as it is specifically designed to operate on Pan and Tilt parameters. Please explain what you would expect the 'highlight' and 'next fixture' buttons to do. The main problem is that there are no 'spare' buttons available on the desks as far as I remember - so having combinations of buttons is feasible but the interface then starts becoming complicated and non-intuitive.
  15. Apparently, when the program was first broadcast in colour in 1970, the TARDIS did appear to be green 8O Extract from: http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/doctorwho/featur...wee_years.shtml For a start, the series looked much better than it had done when Troughton played the Doctor. For the first time, Doctor Who was in colour. Even the production staff took a while to get used to this - for instance the old TARDIS console prop is used at first. The old TARDIS looked fine in the black and white episodes, but in colour it is revealed to be green! As in many programmes at that time, colour was such a novelty that it was somewhat overused, meaning the clothes and sets used now look rather garish. As well as being in colour, Spearhead was shot entirely on film (the only Doctor Who story which was), giving the whole programme a big budget feel.
  16. You cannot open the Zero fixture library file directly using the Fixture Type Editor, but you can extract fixture types from the Zero 88 Fixture Library File, as follows: Start the Fixture Type Editor Select the Creating a new (empty) fixture type file. Select File and then select the Import Fixture Type option from the menu. Select the Zero 88 fixture library file. You should then be able to extract the fixture(s) you require from the library into the Fixture Type Editor. You can then modify them as required and save the new fixture data to a new user fixture type file.
  17. If possible could you send us a copy of your show file and some information on which scenes/memories have these rogue movement effects on them. We can then set up a desk here and investigate further. Were the scenes referencing position palettes at all ?
  18. I think you'll find it's a blue Police phone box
  19. The effects generator was specifically designed as a MOVEMENT effect generator, and consequently applies the additional parameters, effect, sizes, offset, rotation and speed to the Pan and Tilt parameters of the moving light fixtures. Note than pan and tilt are different to other parameters; they have to be defined as such, they are always processed internally as 16 bit values, and the movement effects operate on them as a pair.
  20. In Version 9 of the frog software, we changed several things with submasters - one was that if you program them directly, you can now adjust the times, as required, whereas previously, submasters programmed with channel data were always manual fades.
  21. Download the latest Frog Series software from the Zero 88 website and then follow the instructions in THIS POST
  22. The Leap Frog (24 fixtures) and Mambo Frog (96 fixtures) also have a Group button.
  23. I have just received news that the character of the Master will return in the new "Doctor Who" series and that former pop singer Rick Astley has been cast in the part. According to a BBC spokesman, Mr I.M. Kiddin, Rick Astley has always wanted to break into acting and this is the ideal role to stretch his talents. With the new series of Doctor Who being filmed in Wales, several Welsh singers were auditioned for the part but sadly neither Tom Jones, Shakin' Stevens or Aled Jones were suitable, hence the Mancunian Astley was approached. There are also rumours that Catherine Zeta Jones will appear as the Rani and a Welsh Corgi will take on the role of K-Nine
  24. Not quite sure I follow the terminology here, what do you mean by "roll it out" with a control wheel :?
  25. Assuming you have got a copy of the latest frog series software, then follow the instructions in this post CLICK HERE
