Hi Alex, From what you have described I am sorry to say that the desk will need to be looked at by the dealer.
-
That sounds like a problem with communication between the main, slave and DMX card. It could be a problem with the grey loom with the red and black wire, that connects the PCB's together having a poor connection. It could also be a fault with one of the components; would be more inclined to look at the DMX card as the cause. What you could try and do is run the desk as an analogue only version. e-mail me on keith.rogers@cooperindustries.com to continue with this.

Which version of the dimmer have you got? If you are not sure there should be a serial number on the rear panel. Please e-mail me on keith.rogers@cooperindustries.com to continue with this.

I think I spoke to you about this and the problem has been solved. If not please contact me on keith.rogers@cooperindustries.com

First you are correct the dimmers are 4U. If you only have three of them in the rack then you should not need to worry about forced cooling with fans. All the heat sync is at the rear if the dimmer you will need to leave the back of the dimmer rack clear of blank plates. The rack I have built up are in the format below. Splitter 1Uvent Dimmer 1 Dimmer 2 Dimmer 3 Distro.

I have seen this before on early desk that have not had the firmware updated. It is worth doing a full update, from a bootable pen drive, and do the other updates as well as the OS update. Please e-mail krogers@zero88.com if you need any more help.

Lightmaster XL - green LEDs are dead!!
KWR88 replied to 04s2lao's topic in Other Discontinued Products
The green LED are take direct from the analogue outputs. It would indicate a problem with those as well as there are few faults that would stop the LED from working but leave the anaolgue output operating. Please e-mail me on krogers@zero88.com to continue as it will be quicker. -
Can you give me a call on +44 1633 833 101, or email me on krogers@zero88.com. I think it will be easier and quicker to deal with this off the forum.

From your post it sounds like there is a problem with the selector switches on the second preset PCB. Please e-mail me so we can discuss this further.

Reply copied from THIS TOPIC on The Blue Room... From what you have described with the LED simply blinking on and off it does sound like it is having problems initialising the processor. There are a couple of reasons that this could be due to a problem with the That could be to do with the supply level not being quite enough to power everything up fully. It may also be a problem with the actual processor or associated circuits, crystal ETC. How cold did it get in the hall over night, and was there any chance of condensation build up. If the desk has got a little damp this could also cause contact problem on some of the components, especially IC, connections.

I have only just got my internet access back so sorry for the delay in replying to you. We have now exchanged a couple of e-mails about this problem so it will be easier to continue doing that. Note that the Chilli 0410i is a single phase only dimmer. We did have someone once try to remove the single phase linking bar from the breakers and wire it up three phase instead. Not only is this potentially dangerous, but it will result in some channels not dimming correctly.
-
From what you have described there are a few possibilities that spring to mind about the cause of the problem. The main one is that the first 6 channels are on a seperate PCB it is possible that there is a poor connection to the main PCB. It could also be the multiplexer IC on the fader card having failed or even become loose. It could also be a problem with the faders on the desk as well, but for so many to fail it normally takes something being dropped on the desk to do it. The master fader problem does however look like a faulty fader or possibly gunk in the fader.

Hi, I will help with this problem when you contact me about the flightcase.
-
Hi, Can you e-mail me directly to krogers@zero88.com with who you purchased the desk from, and the desk serial number. As far as I know we ship the desk and flight case separate and the flight case is wrapped in bubble wrap to help protect it.

Please can you give me the dimmers software versions. This can be found when you power the dimmer on is will say Chilli 24 VerX.X As far as I know we have never had any reported problems with the dimmer laws on these dimmers and testing the ones that I have here shows no obvious problems with the law settings. Please e-mail me on krogers@zero88.com as this will be quicker to reply to you.

Please try the attached file. Could you let me know if it is ok. JBLED.ift

Hi, Think that you e-mailed me direct and have given you the name of a dealer who will be able to help you.

Sounds like the internal battery may be starting to fail. It is also worth checking the recovery mode has been set to on as well. For further information please e-mail me on krogers@zero88.com

My best guess is a fault with the low voltage rail being dragged around and causing the ref rails to be pulled down as well. this could be a problem with the output of the transformer or possibly the 470uF smoothing capacitors on the low voltage supply rail.
-
I think that I have already spoken to you about this then. My best guess is that an output connection has been swapped. Possibly from the triac to the actual socket/terminal block.
-
Hi Pedro, Please can you e-mail me on krogers@zero88.com the desk serial number and what the desk is showing when you boot it. Even if it is the same as michael desk just to confirm.

Can you pm me with contact number and I will give you a call and talk to you about this.

Hi Robin, The fader caps and knobs can be carefully removed and cleaned with a brush and soapy water. Note the over ride and speed knobs are the collet type so you have to pop the cap off the top and undo the nut to remove them. Button are a little more difficult as the PCB needs to be removed form the desk remove the cap. If you do this be carefull as depending on age there is a very small spring in there that is very, very easy to lose. If you do remove the PCB then again soapy water should bring the buttons up ok. If you leave the PCB in place then a soft tooth brush and a little foam cleaner applied gently should be ok. The actual front panel should clean up ok with any antistatic foam cleaner. I reccomend you spray onto the cloth not onto the desk front panel if you have not removed the PCB's so it does not get into faders etc. If there are any sticky residue from masking tape etc, that the cleaner does not remove then something like isopropanol or electosolve should be ok again apply to the cloth regardless of if the PCB are present. The surrond of the desk is a little more difficult to clean, again the antistatic foam cleaner should be ok with small soft brush or lint free cloth. If you are looking to clean the PCB then a can of compressed air is a good way to go to blast the loose dust off and a small soft brush for anythign harder. Again be carefull of the buttons on the desk as they can be knocked off.

I have still not had any contact from you regarding circuit diagrams. I assume thet you have managed to obtain them from our French distributer. If not please e-mail direct if you still need to obtain them.

Please can you confirm if you have managed to solve your problem with the Betapack 3 as I have not had any reply to my PM.
