No. Parameters are programmed (or not) for the entire chase. I'm struggling to reproduce this. When you say "I choose: no.", do you mean you set P<No> and then click [Yes], or you leave P<Yes> and then click {No} ? Either way, I can't get the desk to behave the way you say it does :? One odd thing I do see though, is that when you hold the Memory Type button to change an unprogrammed Scene to a Chase, for some reason it seems to tag all the movement effects. Not sure that should happen...

 Yes, this is a bug. Frog Reference 5530 - Editing chases and removing attributes - does not update on monitor. Additionally, when editing chases or scenes, and removing attributes, the new setting is lost after power-cycling the desk.

Irritating background refresh issue with front panel
Paul replied to jclark2906's topic in Frog Range MK1
Frog Reference 5481 - Phantom Frog backgrounds do not always refresh correctly when moving windows. -
I've added Sirius-Off-Stage to the Product Downloads section of the main website, you should be able to download it from there now.

Moderation: Tracking discussion split from THIS TOPIC. Tracking is a function for the cue stack (Playback X). It basically means in each cue, you only record the changes, not the entire state. When you play back the cue stack, even if you jump around it, the desk will output the full tracked state each time. K-Nine's description for the Illusion (here) might give you a bit more detail. The implementation for the Frog will no doubt be similar in some ways :-)

This is where the fixture outputs screen (hold F1 and press a fixture selection button) becomes extremely useful. If you hold down Wheelgroup, it shows you exactly what will be programmed. Our sales guys tell us that nearly all Frog users now use the monitor, and I would contend that if you're into parameter level programming; you already are, or really should be, using a monitor. There really aren't enough buttons/LEDs on the panel to rely on the panel alone, which was always one of our reservations about doing it on the Frog series at all. The C/B/P buttons are already heavily overloaded with functions, I think adding more will only add confusion, not clarity.
-
Did you have multiple fixtures of different types selected? The time could be changed easily enough, if there was a general consensus on this Wheelgroup + Attribute is already used to tag/un-tag that attribute for the selected fixtures (if held for 1s). You're right, 5529 was not included in the last release! Neither were a lot of other suggestions. If we did every suggestion ever made, you wouldn't have 10.0 yet, we'd still be working on it! Don't worry, it's not forgotten, it just wasn't on the list of must-haves for 10.0.

Visualisation (and getting DMX out of Phantom Frog)
Paul replied to alcrooks's topic in Frog Range MK1
We too keep dreaming of a free visualisation package, but alas no-one will give us a one  The problem of the Phantom Frog redraw is still there I'm afraid (Frog Reference 5481) - it is logged to be fixed. -
Hi Robert, Welcome to the forums! You only need to adjust the speed control to the value that it was programmed at, and then it will pick-up, and become active. Alternatively, have you tried the beat function? Make sure both the "Bass" and "Man" lights next to the Drive button are on, then just press the Step button twice to set the speed. Hope this helps, Paul.

Frog Reference 5528 - Copying data from a fixture outputting a palette - should take the data from the source fixture's palette.
-
Ah, well, now you put it like that, I can see what you're talking about When palette lock was first suggested (Frog Reference 5397, CLICK HERE), it was just that, Palette Lock. If on the other hand the original request had been for Palette Lock and Group Lock, things might have turned out differently As it is, I can see how it could be confusing, so unless there are any major objections from anyone, it will go on the features list... Frog Reference 5529 - Flash/SX buttons to perform Group functions when monitor is locked on Groups screen.
-
Correct. :? err, what do you mean by "release info" ?? When I press the Group button, nothing at all happens on the monitor. Nope, for me, the monitor is still showing the palette screen. Again, the monitor is showing the palettes, so the buttons select palettes. I'm kind of confused, since what you're describing is not at all what I see on the desk! You are running 9.8 aren't you?

Styling is always a contentious issue, difficult to please all of the people all of the time. The monitor screen on the Jester will be a text based screen like the Frog series, as providing a full graphical screen would have added significant cost to the Jester. We hope you'll like what we've done with the layout though, memories / submasters / outputs / preview all on the one screen.

Hi Chris, What is displayed on the external monitor display while the desk is frozen, and when the software installation disk is in the drive? Regards, Paul.

The scratch looks superficial on the solder resist only, doesn't look from the picture like any of the tracks are cut. I'm not sure whether I dare pass on your comments to the lovely ladies that assemble the Frogs 8) Actually they use air tools in the factory, but I've never failed myself to disassemble a Frog using a good hand screwdriver. Maybe some of the muck you were cleaning out of the desk also got in and stuck the screws good and tight. Even if you fitted the buttons, the software would not read them since it's not expecting them to be there. All the cables in the desk are made custom for Zero88 by a subcontractor. I guess the one you point out could be a little shorter, but we'd need to check where else it's used and whether a shorter length would be adequate all round. Common parts can sometimes be preferable to minimal parts when factories are concerned. I think the official Zero88 position on this would be that by undertaking this sort of work yourself on a desk, you are voiding the warranty on the product. Nice pictures though ice, maybe we should get you to write service manuals for us

Some thoughts... You've not got a long fade time set on the submasters have you? The default is currently 3s, which sometimes causes confusion/annoyance. Are you changing submaster pages, hence the faders may be active on a different page to the one displayed (page overlay)? Is it always the same submasters, or always on the same submaster page? Does the loss of submasters occur after a power down of the desk? Finally, and I know this is probably a silly question, but it's not the Grand Master or Blackout is it?

You would with a moving mirror fixture, but not necessarily with pan on a moving head. Like Haytech says, set the tilt value so the fixture is not pointing straight up. It depends on which way up your fixtures are rigged and which way they are pointing, but it can be done. It's all tied up with the same movement maths that makes a circle effect on a moving head come out as a figure of 8.

It's unlikely we'd ever do a specific port for Mac. This would indeed be a significant amount of work. Phantom Frog grew out of the development environment that the Frog series software began it's life in, before any hardware even existed. It was never really intended to be released atall, but then one day a nosey salesman was wandering through R&D and spotted it... the rest is history

The new forum has been a bit delayed from the original plan, but it is being worked on and should be with us soon. The trick when searching is to try different words for the same thing. Users sometimes use terminology which they are familiar with from other products but which may be named differently on the Frogs. The regular forum contributors will often help you out here and find the link for you if you get really stuck! Frog Reference numbers are another good way of finding related topics once you've come across a thread with one in. However beware that some older posts with these numbers in don't come up in the search. We try to fix these where and when we find them, so let K-Nine know if you spot one. The other oddity I've sometimes seen is the search not recognising words with less than 4 letters as being proper words. But that might just be me! If all else fails, use google with the /site tag. e.g. palette /site:support.zero88.com Although beware that google's index of the site might be a bit out of date. edit: fixed links

The Phantom Frog is a full simulation of the desk software, including the DMX calculation. That's how you get to see it in the outputs screens There is no mechanism however to output the resultant DMX universe to any hardware; Ethernet, USB or otherwise. If we added this, well you'd have any of the Frog desks for virtually nothing, wouldn't you? We've ended up back at THIS TOPIC again haven't we? edit: fixed link -
I'd presumed originally that "two red stripes on the display" referred to the submaster page display, not the main LCD. But now I'm very confused :?
-
Hi Wim, The date on the operating system is that of version 6.2. If it's stuck at this point, one possible reason is that the software stored on the desk has somehow become corrupted and needs reinstalling. 6.2 is quite an old version now. It would be worth downloading the latest from our website (CLICK HERE) and installing it on the desk. Instructions HERE. If that doesn't sort the problem out, then most likely a fault has developed with the desk. If this is the case, act quickly, since you only have a few weeks left on your 3 year warranty! Get the desk back to your dealer or give Keith in our service department a call to arrange a repair. Is anything displayed on the LCD on the desk by the way? Regards, Paul. edit: fixed links

The 2 outputs are not quite in parallel. They each have their own RS485 transceiver. Sounds very much like there may be a problem in one of the transceiver circuits. Get the board back to your dealer, they should be able to sort it out.

I'm sure your local dealer would be able to sort you out with a spare bulb. Try the handy dealer-finder on our website... http://www.zero88.com/en/distributors edit: fixed link
