  1. All desks are supplied with a floppy disk which contains the software version installed when the desk was shipped. We don't make old versions available for general download from the website since we don't usually want people getting tangled up in problems that are now resolved. See the release notes for 10.4 to see what you'd be missing out on going back to 9.8. But if you're sure that all the new stuff in 10.4 is not worth learning the new button usage for...
  2. No it is not possible to return to the old WheelGroup function (except by reinstalling the original version of software before 10.x). The button has had to change function to support the new parameter level programming features.
  3. I've put the old spec sheets which have this sort of data on the Website, CLICK HERE. The Sirius48 is 610 x 1070 x 120mm.
  4. The memory storage format is very different between the Sirius and Jester so unfortunately it is not possible to transfer the show file as a whole. What you could do however is use the DMX input on the Jester to grab the DMX output from the Sirius, and one memory at a time, transfer the show between the two desks. To answer your questions... 1. Yes you can insert a chase into a cue stack. 2. No, there are currently no Auto-triggers or Dwell times on the Jester (feature request JES-2220). 3. Highly unlikely, not many people would be looking for a multi-universe 24/48 channel desk :-)
  5. Hi Bob, We will be looking at the issue of the timing discrepancy between Run mode and Program mode that you highlight. In the meantime, there are a couple of other things you could try: 1. Set the chase to Manual drive (speed pot clicked off), and assign the remote input socket to the Step button (for chases on the memory stack, the Insert button is used for this). You can then step the chase by external control, to give you the more accurate timing you need. 2. Program the different steps of the chase as submasters, and then you can control these from MIDI. In Run-mode, if you set the Next memory to be the same as the Current memory, then the Preview area on the monitor will show you the current and next step numbers in the chase. N-shot chases, Auto triggers and Dwell times (JES-2220) are all features found on the Frog series consoles. We have to decide if it makes commercial sense to give away these features on the Jester - that's one to get on to your Zero88 sales contact about. Hope this helps, Paul.
  6. From version 9 software onwards, the fade times on submasters can be programmed to whatever you like, regardless of whether the sub contains a transferred memory or channel data. For LTP parameters, it is the 'LTP Fade Time' that you need to adjust. You also need to make sure the action for the appropriate attribute (colour/beamshape/position) is set to 'Fade'. When the submaster fader is raised above the 'LTP Trigger Level', the fade is started. Full details of tagging individual parameters are given in the Software Release Notes for version 10 software.
  7. The sound-to-light hardware is the same in the Illusion and Frog desks. Try searching for equalizer to see other users experiences with filtering the input for a better response.
  8. You can make up your own switch panels to control the Illusion using the 8-pin DIN connector. Wiring details are in the back of the manual. Price lists can be found HERE.
  9. The connector is input only. Unfortunately the software is unable to change the electronics that are installed in your desk :-) If you need to control non-DMX devices, you need a Demux.

In version 10 software, playing a memory/submaster/SX/palette will auto-tag the channels recorded therein. This is to make it easier to change something and re-record it. However some people don't like it, so... Frog Reference 5583 - Option to disable, add-to, or replace tags when when replaying Memories, Submasters & SXs. Tags are automatically cleared by the desk when you hit Program, so you're starting with a clean sheet on the next thing you record. The easiest way to see what's tagged is to use the Fixture Outputs Screen. Hold down F1, and press a fixture selection button. To see the tags rather than the output values, press the WheelGroup button. In version 10.4 software you can lock the display on the tag mode by holding down F1 when you press the WheelGroup button. F and S on the memories screen stand for Fade and Snap.
  11. The 8-pin DIN connector on the Illusion is input-only. The action of each of the 6 inputs on it can be configured on the desk. The connector cannot however be used for output. Output from the desk is DMX only. The Auxiliary control functions can be assigned to DMX channels only.
  12. Would you look what just came up on ebay.... SPARE POWER SUPPLY FOR ZERO 88 LINEBACKER.
  13. Moderation: post removed. Whilst it would be fair to relate personal experiences with particular equipment, this forum is not the place to make sweeping generalisations about other manufacturers or their product quality.
  14. Imagine you had the following palettes programmed (taking the numbers from Morn's example): C B P 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3 4 4 4 5 5 5 6 6 6 7 7 7 8 8 8 9 9 9 10 10 10 11 11 11 12 12 12 13 13 13 14 -- 14 15 -- 15 16 -- 16 17 17 17 18 18 18 19 19 19 20 20 20 21 -- 21 22 22 22 23 23 23 24 24 24 Then the bug would cause the names of position palettes 14, 15, 16 & 21 to be lost. To correct it, you need to program the missing beamshape palettes (any old data), then re-enter the names for the corresponding position palettes.
  15. Frog Reference 5546 - On the memories screen, the autorepeat on the +/- buttons continues after the button is released. (fixed in version 10.10)
  16. The latest software is available from the Zero88 support centre, CLICK HERE. If the file you downloaded opens OK in Winzip then you have downloaded it successfully. There is no need to use any previous versions in performing the upgrade. If you are unable to format any disks (have you tried another box / brand?) in the desk, then it sounds like the drive in your desk is bad. May be best to get the desk back to a dealer or to us to have the problem resolved. I have seen floppy disks sometimes completely trashed so they will not reformat in a desk or in a PC, so it might be worth investing in a box of new disks before you write off the drive completely.
  17. The "utility disk" software is now available on the website on the Sirius 250/500 support page.

There isn't one I'm afraid. Try writing your post in Word or something, then once you've spell checked it, copy and paste the text into the forum.
  19. Don't tell anyone, but the DMX DeBUG is actually a badged version of the Artistic Licence Micro-Scope 3. You might find more information on Mic-Edit in that manual
  20. Moderation: Post moved into this thread.
  21. Hi Chris, If I understand you correctly, then what you're asking for is "tracking", where the desk will output the tracked value when you play a cue, regardless of the order that you play back the cues in. This is a feature which we are working on now for inclusion in a future software update. If I have misunderstood your question, then please can you give a bit more detail on what you're trying to do. Thanks, Paul.
  22. No, you cannot control LTP parameters using the submaster faders.
  23. The details for setting the DMX start address in the Rack6 are covered in the operating manual, download here. If you are having problems with the dimmer not behaving as expected, it would be worth doing a reset from Super User to get the dimmer back to the factory default state first. Again details are in the operating manual. I'm slightly confused about why you mention the MAC500 in the same posting. I really hope you're not powering the MAC500 through the Rack6...
  24. The Diablo is designed and manufactured by Zero 88. However it is also sold by Chauvet as the Tiger.
  25. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Another successful year for Zero 88 is coming to a close. This is the most successful year we have had so a big thank you to all of you for your continuing business. Also many thanks to all the forum contributors who have provided us with valuable feedback on our products, helping to make them what they are today. Looking back over the past year, 2005 has again been a busy year for us. We have introduced several new products including the Jester and Juggler desks, and the Chilli Pro Contactor 1210 and Switch6 switchpacks. Jester has followed in the footsteps of the Frogs, Sirius 24 and Betapacks as a product that has exceeded all our predictions, selling nearly double the volume we had expected. Frog2 has seen software release 2, and Frog1 has continued to grow with the powerful new features in release 10. We have also had Bryan and Nathalie join the team, and have welcomed back Lorna. The Zero 88 offices will be closing over the Christmas period, from 5.00pm on Friday 23rd December 2005 until 9.00am on Tuesday 3rd January 2006. During this time, the support website will continue to be monitored. We hope that you have a peaceful and enjoyable time over the break, and look forward to 2006 together. On behalf of all the staff at Zero 88, thank you!
