Just a standard 1.44MB DOS floppy, that's all. If you're having trouble saving, try formatting the disk in the desk itself, that sometimes helps.
-
I think if you connect a mouse or trackball to the desk light socket, what you actually get is a smoke effect...
-
You can't change the patch on a Frog Box, and you can't make a direct cable connection to Phantom Frog either, sorry. The answer is to find a PC with a floppy drive, or an actual desk.

Yes you can set Chilli or Install6 dimmers to a Switch Law, but it's not recommended to use this to power moving lights (see THIS POST). Have a look at the 'Chilli Pro 1210 Switch' (spec sheet HERE) for powering your moving lights. Just like a normal Chilli dimmer, but instead of triacs, you get heavy duty relays. Controllable from Chillinet or DMX like every other Chilli dimmer.

I've seen the cards come up on ebay occasionally, would be worth setting up a search there and having it email you when something comes up. As to making a card, I imagine the mechanics of the connector arrangement would prove a bigger obstacle than the electronics. Just to dig a couple of part numbers out of our system that may help start you on your quest... MF364A-M6DAP01 MF3128MMDAP MELCARD datasheet: CLICK HERE. Best of luck! If you do find a source, open a shop, there's no doubt plenty of people looking for these things!

Please post any additional comments in THE FROG VS JESTER TOPIC.
-
Apart from those you've already mentioned, Frog currently has the following plusses over Jester: - Selectable triggers on memories (Go button, Automatic or Real Time). - N-shot chases. - Jumps in the memory stack. - Edit Blind function. - Individually programmable fade times on submasters. - Bigger panel with more controls, so more things are readily accessible. - 6 remote inputs. - Desk Lamp socket. If none of these matter to you, and things like the smaller physical footprint, 12/24 Auxiliaries, USB memory storage, DMX-IN and MIDI are more important, then the Jester may well be a better choice for you. Just one other thing to throw into the mix - if you think you might one day want to upgrade to a moving lights desk, then that may favour the Frog, since then upgrading to a Fat Frog would be less of a learning curve. Although you should find a lot of the fundamental operating principles of the Frog and the Jester are quite similar. Well, why reinvent the wheel...

Currently this would only be possible with a pen and paper! It's a good idea though for a future update. It would be quite nice to extend the functionality of the COPY/PASTE function, so that you could copy a look in Run Mode, then go into Program Mode and paste that look into a Memory/Submaster. Edit: this has now been implemented in software version 1.8.

Err, we don't have a policy on this at the moment. To be honest I can't remember seeing any images in signatures yet that would require us to regulate this in any way. If we were to introduce some rules in the future, they'd probably be pretty similar to those that The Blue Room use. For now, yes you can have images, but they shouldn't be so large to download that they spoil the experience for the poor souls on dialup, or make for too much of a distraction when reading a topic. Also don't put anything offensive in the images, or do anything naughty like use off-site image links to track visitors to the forum. This is something we're happy to listen to members views on, so if anyone feels strongly one way or the other, speak up.

You should be able to control these particular fixtures using just the generic channel outputs from the Diablo. The Diablo has 18 of these. Make sure that the DMX address you have set on your fixture corresponds to how the generic channels on the Diablo have been patched (Assign/Patch->Generics menu). In the View/Preview->DMX menu on the Diablo, you can see exactly what the Diablo is sending on each DMX channel to confirm you have set up the desk correctly. The generic channels on the Diablo are always linear output so you do not need to worry about that.

Yes this is possible. Everything you need to know is in the release notes for version 10.4 - download HERE.

Hi Garry, Can you post your showfile here (use the Add Attachment function) so we can take a look at it? Thanks, Paul.

Similar linking ideas have been discussed a couple of times before (HERE and HERE). Have a read of those topics, see if they give you any inspiration!

Jester Operating Software version 1.7 has been released, and is available for download from the Zero 88 support website. CLICK HERE. This contains the following change from version 1.6: * When in Program Mode, after a program operation, the desk will now only automatically increment the memory number if the next memory is unprogrammed. This avoids unwanted output changes when changing from Run Mode to Program Mode to make edits. To update the desk: 1. Download the zip file, and extract the contents to a USB memory stick. This will be a file with the extension .jos. It is important that you only have one .jos file on the USB memory stick at any one time. 2. Plug the USB memory stick into the desk. 3. Switch on the desk with the Left and Right cursor keys held down. The Jester Upgrade Menu will appear on the LCD and monitor screen. The monitor screen is quite distinctive - it looks like a red and yellow circus tent. 4. Wait for the USB memory stick to be recognised by the desk. This is usually indicated by the LED on the memory stick flickering for a short time, and then returning to a steady flash. 5. With the cursors flashing on <OK>, press the Enter button. When the desk displays the name of the upgrade file found, ensure <OK> is selected and press Enter again to begin the upgrade. 6. The desk will now perform the upgrade. Do not switch off while this is happening. 7. When the upgrade is complete, press Enter to start the desk, there is no need to switch off and reboot.

The answer to all 3 of your questions is no I'm afraid. To search for related topics, just type the Frog Reference number into the Search above. You'll also find these reference numbers in the release notes that accompany each software update, detailing new or modified functionality.
-
I think there are two issues here... Firstly, Frog Reference 5422 - Movement Effects and FROG outputs should stop when the submaster fader is brought down to zero. Secondly, the issue of controlling LTP parameters with the position of the submaster fader. See THIS TOPIC for further discussion and links to related topics. What do you mean by by 'merge movements' ?

At the moment, there are no print options from the Phantom Frog. You could always use the Windows screen-dump feature (shift->print screen) to dump the Phantom Frog's monitor view to the clipboard. Then paste this into any graphics application (e.g. Paint) and print it from that.

Page 2-4 of the Chilli Dimmer Manual (Issue 6) - DMX Connection - this should be what you're looking for.
-
See page 8-2 of the manual HERE for the pinout detail of the connector. Page 6-10 tells you how to then configure the switches in Super User to do something useful. In the latest software you can simulate the effect of the 6 remote switches by plugging in a keyboard, holding CTRL and pressing F1-F6. This might prove useful in diagnosing any problems. Best of luck!
-
If you load an old show which has the default time set at 3s, then you get 3s. To change this, go into Super User -> Desk Setup -> Desk Defaults -> Submaster.

Hi Brian, The download on the website has been updated to version 2.0.0.1 (OK the link still says 2.0!) which should solve this problem. There was an issue with the height of the subfixture and manufacturer windows which was causing them to sometimes not repaint correctly. Let us know if you see any more problems. Regards, Paul.
