  1. Thanks Jon (and Edward) 🙂 I think I got it (for now 🙂 ). I can see where it can go wrong if I don't think about the recording options when inserting and updating cues. And one more time: Phantom ZerOs is great! It is so handy when at home working with the fundamentals of the software, thank you very much for it! Kind Regards droiddk
  2. Hi Edward I see the same behaviour when Smart Tag is not enabled. Like this: "Snapshot" and "Smart Tag" with blue line (disabled) and "Cue Only" with red line. Six cues recorded. First cue was recorded with one fixture intensity at 100% and the other 5 cues I just recorded right after without taking the intensity fader down. Intensity at 100% (blue text in output) when raising the playback fader and when pressing the button the next cue is triggered and now 100% output is show with purple text. I do see where Smart Tag and Tracking used together or on their own can be very handy when recording into existing cue-stacks or updating cues but I'm not 100% sure about if i can "lock" myself out (from using Tracking) if I don't enable Tracking in the beginning when recording a cue-stack. Do I need to care about tracking-options when I start recording a cue-stack from scratch? From my "reseach" I have found that using Tracking when recording into existing cue-stacks or updating a cue is always possible even when the current cue or cue-stack was recorded with "cue only" and Snapshot and Smart Tag disabled. Playing around I think I do get the point about tracking and cue only: Tracking will keep the value through the cue-stack until another value "is found". Cue Only will actually not just touch the just recorded cue (into an existing cue-stack) or an updated cue, but will also "un-do" the changes in the coming cue so it will look like before the cue before was inserted or updated. Please note, I do not try to say something is wrong with the software, I just wants to know if I got the basic right Thanks Ed, I was hoping for a yes/no answer but of cause in-depth is always better 🙂 I actually did watch that video some time ago but maybe I need to recall. Have a nice evening. Kind Regards droiddk
  3. Hi all Am I correct that when working with tracking, its actually not important that Tracking is enabled ( “Cue Only” disabled and for example “Track forwards” enabled) when recording into a simple cue-stack, like first cue 1, then cue 2 and 3 and so on. Tested with a simple cue-stack with Smart Tag on and “Cue only”. 6 cues recorded into a cue-stack all with 1 fixture-fader at 100% intensity. When running cue 1 intensity is at 100% and value is blue in output. Now I go to second cue and intensity is now purple and intensity still at 100% so tracking must be working. All recordings made with “Cue only”. So, am I correct that tracking-options (for example “Cue Only” disabled and “Track forwards” enabled) is first relevant when I want to record a new cue into an existing cue-stack or wants to update an existing cue in a cue-stack? I mean, its possible to use tracking-options even if the “original” recording into the cue-stack was made with “cue only”. Kind Regards droiddk
  4. Damn you are too fast Edward. I almost came up with something like that shortly after I posted the topic, and have been think about that issue for some days now Thanks, as always Kind Regards droiddk EDIT: I use Auto-trigger so sparkle-effect 2 (cue 3) is triggered when the "reset-cue" (cue 2) is triggered, seems to be working fine.
  5. Hi all Playing around with effects, this time with real lights (but also using Phantom ZerOs when at home). Playing with 4 RGB LEDs. Auto generated effect “Sparkle – red” and “Sparkle – green” looks good so I record these two into Playback One, cue 1 and cue 2. Going into “Playbacks” I raise Playback fader 1 and “Sparkle – red” looks like when choosing the effect using the palette. Now I press the button and next cue is triggered, the cue with the reference to the “Sparkle – green” effect. “Sparkle – green” starts but it doesn’t look right, its not 100% the same as when choosing it directly from the palette. In DMX-output (looking at one LED fixture) I can see what is going on: with “Sparke – red” (which is running correctly): Red is at 100% (DMX-value 255) and green and blue are taken to 100% at random intervals synchronized. When I trigger the next cue, the one with “Sparkle – green”, green is taken to 100% and red and blue are randomly taken to 100% but red and blue are not synchronized. The same happens with I take the cue-stack to the first cue using the button, one channel at 100% and two others channels randomly but not synchronized. Same output when Smart Tag is on and off when recording. What can I do if I want to record the sparkle-effects into a cue-stack and keeping the looks as when using the palette directly? Kind Regards droiddk
  6. +1 for separate speed and size master. I would love to have that so I can simply raise the fader and change the effect speed without affecting effect size. Kind Regards droiddk
  7. And 1:01 in this: 🙂 Thanks for all the great videos, been really helpful. Kind Regads droiddk
  8. Its perfect. Still playing on but I think I will setup a custom home position as mid for our pan-tilt-effects and therefore always home my movers before generating pan-tilt-effects (and include both position and effect when tagging). Our movers are only covering our dance-floor so mid is almost always the same) Still learning here, I'm starting to get a grasp about how the console is thinking 🙂 Thanks Edward. Kind Regards droiddk
  9. Hi Edward. Thanks. That makes sense. What if, I want to use 255 as default value, "special positions in my room where I want the light to go when no Playback is running", but also want the pan and tilt effect to use all values? Does it make sense? Is it simple just setting pan and tilt value to "mid values" and then generating the effect? Edit: Not sure I'm on the right approach here Regards droiddk
  10. Hello First post, new FLX S48 user. Been using Phantom ZerOs a lot when home, it’s great. Can someone explain what is going on in this example: Simple test with 1 moving head. First, I record one simple pan tilt-effect (auto-made effect, “Circle”) into Playback 1. No changes made to the effect. Record into Playback 1 is made with Snapshot and Smart Tag off. Only “effect” is tagged. Now I quit “Channels”-mode and enter “Playbacks”-mode. I press Setup and press button for Playback 1 so I can setup the fader and button for Playback 1. I use “Effect” for “Fader controls..” and “Go (Snap)” for button function. No lights connected (using Phantom ZerOs) but I can see what is going on in DMX-output and pan and tilt channels are changing as expected when I raise the fader above 5%. All fine for now. Now I want to setup custom home and default for pan and tilt. Playback 1 is stopped. I first setup custom home with 100% pan and tilt (DMX-value 255 for both). Record with Snapshot and Smart Tag off. Only effect is tagged. First I record custom home. All fine, DMX-output shows pan and tilt goes to 255 when homing. Now I go into “Playbacks”-mode. Playback 1 with effect is still running as expected. Now I continue for setup custom default. As before, pan and tilt 100% (DMX-value 255 for both) and record this into default for the one moving head used in this example. Clear all, DMX-output confirms default pan and tilt values are now 255. Now I go into “Playbacks”-mode again and raising the fader for Playback 1 but nothing happens, raising it over 75%, nothing, wait, after a while the effects starts. Now I change default pan and tilt to 99% and with this default value the effect starts as expected, when I raise the fader. What is going on when default value for pan and tilt are set to 100%? And yes, I will properly never use these values as default but does custom default value affect effects? Kind Regards droiddk
