  1. There's also flexible CAT5 cable. We use it for transferring a USB signal over > 50m. to a 01V96 from the FOH; works fine.
  2. Assinging new fixtures messes up the pallets in previous software versions, upgrade to version 9.8 and that should be solved. I think you've programmed your mems / subs with pallet info too, is that right? If so that's of course the same problem, if not; then maybe you're not tagging your fixtures correctly in partial mode?
  3. No, you can't. If your stepping through all memories at the same time you could of course just combine them?
  4. A remote switch is nothing more than a pulse-switch hooked to the right pins in your connector, check the manual for the pin-out. You only have to buy a switch and a connector (which costs about nothing), that's all. I haven't made one yet though, still need to do that. Your plan is going to work fine I think, but I prefer the wireless-ness of the Focus Hand. Maybe you could lay an extra line to the stage containing your remote switches, so you could plug in a remote on stage. Thats usually where you need it, right?
  5. And once you've created that memory there's always a remote switch you could set for jumping too that one. Buy one of those cool big red buttons and there's your alarm-button!
  6. Pics / specs?
  7. Don't you guys run any shows anymore? Another one with our Leap Frog: Stuff: - Mac 250 Krypton - Robe XT250 washes - ACL - Source 4 PARs - Hazer - Frog - and everything else is the house rig of the theatre
  8. That's of course the fastest solution! Didn't even think of that one
  9. Change the column B to 'S' as Kirkup_xp explained, that will snap the gobo. And if scrolling the gobo's isn't fast enough for you, you're only option is the blackout. You could program 2 memories; first one begins with the new position (leave beamshape as it was) and the second one, trigged automatically after a few milliseconds changes beamshape. That should give the fixure enought time to start the movement, close the shutter and then scroll the gobo. And a thourough explanation of what can and can't be done with moving lights to your director may be a good idea. If he wasn't this effect without the beam moving just use some generics with goborotators!

    Two odd things

Still the console takes more time saving then loading. The show I'm currently working with is now 270kb in size and takes almost a minute to save, that also applies to the autosaves / RAM-flushes now and then; no need to mention how annoying that is []. Isn't there a way to discard the autosaves, by flushing the RAM whenever the CPU isn't doing anything else?
  11. After last nights show I noticed 3 potential bugs... - The reference pallet given in the fixture LCD doesn't seem to match all the time. I programmed a scene with a position pallet and saved it. When I edited the scene it was telling me P09 in the position parameters, though that wasn't the pallet I recorded... I pressed P09 and the position of the heads changed; so that definitely wasn't right! Unfortunately I changed that one and didn't save the wrong file, can't reproduce it I'm affraid. - The effects generator always sets the shape to Figure8 when you record a position pallet. Though it's playing the right shape; editing the shape always sets you beginning at figure8, don't know why. To reproduce; press home, set a position and record it to a pallet. Now load the pallet and turn the shape wheel: it'll go to figure8. - When you're playing a position pallet and record it into another one, the shape generator is ignored completely, it seems to take the position parameters at that point and lose the effect parameters. In my opinion it shouldn't do that. Also it's still a bit annoying that you can't alter the effects engine parameter when you're running an effect from a scene. The pan/tilt values keep on changing and the effects engine says it's not doing anything though you did program the movement as an effect. And again I've been waiting quite a bit while the console was saving / loading the show. I thought that was just the desk being a bit slow, but loading my show into Phantom Frog also takes a while, but saving it is done in a few milliseconds; why does the loading take that long?
  12. Of course you'll always need to press 2 buttons; one for entering the edit mode, and one for selection. Nothing to improve there
  13. I Guess the power distribution in the console is a bit dodgy, same with the "wrong" desklights ending up crashing the entire console, that's no good of course. It seems the power line to the fixtures part (which is a seperate one I guess, because the smallest Frog doesn't have that part) first powers the floppydrive, and therefore the line isn't stable. Could solved with a simple condenser I guess, but hey; as long as it's working
  14. This may be a bit off, but it's worth mentioning... maybe a good feature to implement in F2. I tend to run into situation where I have too little faders to run the show I want to. I have to group things I rather don't want to and thats annoying. Mostly this is caused by a few items which should be turned on in only a single scene (or only a few times). These items/effects all need a single fader, therefore limiting me in my possibility to patch other things. It would be great if this could be solved using virtual faders, so pressing a button (combination) would set the desk in virtual fader mode, you press in a DMX number (1-512) and set the value (maybe by one of the fixture wheels, or just the numeric keypad). The channel stays on until you repeat the same steps and set it back to 0; it gets recorded as a normal HTP output channel. This way I can still use the effects (doing this routine a few times doesn't matter since I'm programming anyway) and have faders free for more important things. It's kinda like the compulite way of programming. Any chance of this, should be too complicated I guess, the desk only has to remember which channels were turned on separately... the only thing is the user interface for this.
  15. Guess the impendance in some way influences the volume the speakers are producing? Lower impendance means more power for the speaker but also more heat. Don't know how to explain this in English Just google for it, you'll probably find some physics related sites explaining how a speaker works. Anyway, this is more of a sound-related question I think? Ask the noiseboys!
  16. Pressing the submaster button and then a submaster flash button seems a bit redundant; could be brought down to just pressing the submaster flash I guess?
  17. The powerdip isn't limited to the fixtures LCD, it also effects the LEDs in the fixture selection buttons. And indeed; it happens when accessing the floppy drive, our console does the same thing. I never noticed anything going wrong because of this though.
  18. Okay, I'll be patient then
  19. Any idea on how to fix it yet? It's becoming worse and the LCD is pretty useless right now I'm afraid. If there's some kind of coat we can use to polish it, I'd like to know which one that is
  20. Edit the chase and your fixtures will be tagged as they were recorded into the chase... then set the modifier to manual, and go to the chase step you want to record. Now you can just capture that output by hitting program again on a new memory and by that copy your step. If you want to copy a few steps, just assing the chase to a submaster and step through it, each time recording a new step into a new memory.
  21. I'm in favour too..! GLX: you can of course program lamp off / on for all fixtures with 2 pallets, and select the ones you'd like to strike. I've now set up my rig so that it comes on automatically when the DMX input is plugged in, and goes off when the DMX signal is lost for > 2 mins. Still I'm in favour of a greater number of pallets too! Maybe there should be somekind of a map function to map the keyboard keys to certain pallets / cues etc. on the console. Users could define themselves which links should be made between the keyboard and console.
  22. Okay, any chance of that item getting a reference number? I can understand you aren't able to add more than 9 new cues, but in my opinion it should be possible to add one on other points than what currently possible.
  23. When working with an external keyboard, is it possible to insert a number other than .1-.9? Also; there should be somekind of option to insert new memories at any given place. At the moment (or something changed since last OS update?) you can insert a .1, .2 .3 etc... but after that there's no possibility to insert another number after one... for instance a new memory is created and all successive numbers get increased by one... So: 1,1.1,1.2 selecting 1 and pressing insert: 1,new 1.1,1.2,1.3 That's not possible yet, right?
  24. Buy them all a LED Lenser Just kiddin' GLX' way is the simplest and how I also work... just manual control a channel, or use the pre-heat to get some on-stage lighting. Taking a construction light with you and plugging that in somewhere works fine too.
  25. And yet another one! It's a kind of award show for best sportaccomplishments in our town. WYSIWYG render: I'm still a n00b with that program so it's not that good yet And some showphoto's Camera wasn't that good so most pictures are blurry. What I used: [*]3x martin mac 250 krypton [*]6x movitec xt250 wash [*]1x leapfrog zero88 [*]Conventionals from the theatre itself [*]the wite cloths
