I think that's part of my problems! Suppose your creating a chase: first a gobo flip, then a colour change, colour changes back and gobo flips again. You would 2 steps for the 2 gobo positions and 2 for the different colours. Say we want to program this without brightness being recorded, so we place the brightness on a submaster. Programming step 1: gobo gets tagged, lower sub and record Programming step 2: gobo get tagged, lower sub and record Programming step 3: colour gets tagged, lower sub and record (raising sub again dicards tagging info) Programming final step: colour gets tagged, lower sub and record: finish creating the chase. Console gets tagging parameters from the final step and uses those for tagging and as a result of that the first two steps are lost. Is this correct? And how about after recording a step: does the console untag everything too? Think you see the problems I'm having with (auto-)tagging functions
-
Yeah I figured that one out myself, for clearing it works great since I lower the sub anyway. Doens't work for chases though, tagging gets messed up when you tag different attributes / fixtures in each step of the chase. It seems to remember only the last tagging information stored in the chase, using that information throughout the entire chase, is that about right?
-
Ok, fine.. it's not that big of a deal anyway.

The actual pallet number currently active is shown on the LCD as Pxx, but after a while it skips to displaying the wheel mode, if you want to view the pallet output the only option is to release and press it again. Not exactly sure what I was using it for though :? I just remembered it was irritating me
-
That reminds me: holding the colour button for > 1 sec. sets the LCD to the wheel mode. That way you can't see the pallet info anymore, a bit annoying having to release the button after 1 sec because I wanted to view that info for a few different fixtures.

Anyone know how to remove trigger level on a FatFrog???

Why did you program that state then, If you don't want to use it? Or am I missing something here? -
The point of keeping functions within the approriate section of the desk is a nice one, but the combination wheelgroup + clear already disregards that since it uses the clear button. Why not implement both options so we can all be happy  En inderdaad niks persoonlijks hoor, iedereen operate op een eigen manier natuurlijk!
-
True, but the single "clear" press hasn't been implemented yet, so I don't see why it shouldn't be. In my opinion it's much easier to remember because the clear button has the same functionality on other consoles and it'll still have the functions it did in previous software versions. I don't see why one would want to clear just the selected fixtures; you select the fixture you want to record, alter things and save: accidentally tagging other fixtures can be solved by clearing all tags and reselecting the fixtures you want to program. As for tagging; I find the new autotagging functions not as useful as you might think they would be. Submasters containing no tagged fixtures should not release tags of already tagged fixtures. Same goes for the memorystack: try editing a chase and inserting a new step, sometimes tagging gets lost for the previous step and the chase becomes all f*cked up. Can't wait to see the tracking implementations, but for now I the new updates need some work in handling and operations for them to work as they should. Gook work though!

Last weekend I provided some of my collegues with a training on the Frog consoles because they didn't know much about it. Everytime when an action involved 2 actions or buttons it went wrong... "uhhh, okay so I press this and then... ehhhh... what was the other thing to do?" It doens't make the desk more overzichtelijk 8) cause these functions are only documented and not written as a label, "clear" is. With all these new updates and features it's almost necessary to respray the entire frontpanel and place some new labels on there.
-
No, no more combinations please! A single press is prefered cause every combination requires 2 hands instead of one!
-
You can always combine pallets of course! If you use pallets 1-6 for technobeams and your laser you can select the fixtures you want to recall pallets for. That way you could combine some stuff, but you're right; when a fixture has some cool beamshape options 24 pallets isn't that much.
-
When you use the same pallet over and over again, it gets a lot easier. Or just stick some tape underneath your faders and write what's in the pallets. If you want I can write down all of my pallets here, without even looking at the desk! 1 = OW 2 = CTC 3 = yellow 4 = light blue (141) etc. etc. 8) 8) 8) I don't use the monitor for that anymore, finding the colour you need on there takes way too much time.
-
Useful when some light stick to being on all the time and you don't know where that output is coming from. Check your screen and make sure those virtual faders are at 0! During showtime these should always be set to 0, at least thats the way of running the show that I like. Use a submaster for brightness of your fixtures.
-
First of all: what a weird way of patching! Second: I don't get your question? You can alter the fixtures you're viewing by pressing F1 and a fixture selection button, the button you press will be the first fixture on the screen. It works fine for me, don't see your problem. Maybe you could explain a bit?
-
Maybe just a block of pixels (40x10 or so) which gets filled horizontally... Would be a nice feature though, I agree on the "not being able to see what it's doing"-part. This is annoying when your crossfade has to end on a certain line of text or something like that.
-
You need to be in the memories screen for the mem type. button to work! You can't program a chase directly onto a submaster I'm afraid, use a memory and copy it with the "transfer no/with time" buttons on the frontpanel (check the manual for that).
-
Because magically your console would have a USB port all of the sudden? I think you'll have to buy it if it's ever going to be made, and what I get from K-Nine's response it'll probably be an option in new consoles, not the ones already out there.
-
Do you have v10 running? Maybe you're not programming every parameter because the beamshape option is set to "channel" instead of "all"? With strobes it's important that you program every channel value to the sub, otherwise it won't work. Though that doesn't really explain why they're not dimming. Have you made sure the fixture file corresponds with the DMX chart of the Atomics? Maybe something's off there in one of the modes... ?
-
With the new v10 software it becomes a drag to untag fixtures everytime they get autotagged by the console. It slows down programming and here too the 1 second wait time is way too long. Maybe the "clear" button could be used as it is used on the Pearl? Pressing clear once (not holding it) cleares current tag information and sets all fixture to being untagged. The single button press isn't used after all; clearing memories and submaster can stil be done by holding the button for a while.

2*24 pallet should be implemented by the switch 1-24, 25-48 button on the front panel, but I believe not every Frog has that button or something like that.

It´s not illegal, just a little hack that Cast forgot to close down. The user agreement doesn´t state you can´t implement non-cast plugins or use only the Cast Wyg-It interface. If you buy the software (without Wyg-It) and bought the Enttec dongle there's nothing wrong. Guess it'll be fixed in a new release somewhere, don't think the Cast guys would want all of their users buying Enttec dongles instead of the Wyg-It. By the way; what does "defo" mean?

When the "flash" function is set to "off" the flash buttons don't have a function anymore. It's useful for selecting submasters without flashing them, but that's kind of it. Why not extend functionality here, and use the flash buttons as pallet selection buttons when the functions is set to "off"? There is no need for locking the outputs screen on this one, so you can still see your memories or submasters, but have pallet functionality by pressing a flash button also. This way the otherwise kind of useless "off" function is used in a nice way I think. Anyone with me on this one? And still: 2*24 pallet entries would rock, especially with the new software, since you need an "off" pallet for every function now (gobo / no gobo, prism / no prism, rotation / no rotation, etc. etc.).

Even if you output at 100%; running MAC's from a dimmer is NOT the way of powering those units. You can easily destroy the electrics in there, and I don't see why you can't provide some normal power up there. Just run an extra line and your problems are solved. Don't seek a solutions for problems which shouldn't be there in the first place.
-
Maybe a stupid idea, but couldn't the flash buttons be used for pallet triggering when the flash mode is at "off"? That way you wouldn't have to lock the pallet screen and the memories or submasters stay visible on the LCD. It's not really a problem that the names aren't shown, but otherwise you need 2 hands for pallet selection while locking frees one of them.

WD40 or any silicon spray will do just fine If you're not sure about opening the desk, return it to your distributor and they'll probably fix the problem for you.
