  1. I don´t think so ice, until you don´t want to have a strobe chaser It is possible to create a shutter chaser without saving other LTP values by holding the beamshape button and then press the program button. Yeah I use those, but I "turn off" fixtures by killing the brightness... oh well, the results will be the same I guess.
  2. I'll clean it when I've got the time, sure hope that solves the problem.
  3. Ok I always use the last method Haytech mentioned: detagging and recording the brightness values, that works excellent. So if you program such chases, and use the built-in shutter functions, is there any use left for shutter-chases from the Beamshape menu?
  4. Yeah exactly, but that means you're not going to dim your 4 PARs frontlight easily, unless you group them in 1 submaster. And with those kinds of things, you'll run out of submasters very quickly (unless motorised but that would rock anyway ) DVD player :?:
  5. I'm really interested in what you've done with all the generics faders. Counting just 24 faders in total I can imagine it programs shows excellent, but running it live... I'll just start thinking of a way to explain to the tech of another band he's only got 24 pages, or he has to perform some tricks... Hehe I'll just shut it and wait for the first demo-run in Holland If Rolight is going to do that, I'd surely want to visit, so keep us informed please!!
  6. Can someone explain the use of shutter chases? I just use brightness for that, and shutter only for it's strobo/fx functions.
  7. Although the design brings up some questions, I'll just wait & see how you solved things... Big hand for the way you guys handle your things, very organised and well thought off. Off course I'm with the others by hoping the console will turn out fine. I presume you already had a go with it, I can understand you're not going to say bad words about your own work; but how does it compare to the current Frogs? Is is better, or different?? Just curious as I won't be able to make it to PLASA

    Frog 2 - How Much ?

So that would be €9999,95 Just a little question for the Z88's in here; can u guys publish a website with info on the new console / pictures etc. along with the presentation at PLASA? I won't be able to go there unfortunately, but of course I want to know all about the new console! A short story with features and pictures would be nice.
  9. Okay I encoutered a weird problem during show today... When I put up channel fader 25 the value changes to FF as expected; but... the value of channel 26 goes up to 18% as well :S At first I thougt it was a problem with our dimmers, but the desk output screen tells me the desk is sending out wrong information. I've tried rebooting etc, that won't help... I guess something is broken, and this isn't really a bug; but what could it be that causes this problem? I've also solved it; by raising fader 26 just a little bit the value of that one stays at -- while raising 25. But still the faders aren't working the way they're supposed to be. Should I check the desk in for a maintanance session?
  10. Too busy convincing my boss he should start a new bankaccount to save some mony for F2... Too bad it's not really working But you're right; market sucks at the moment... Had only one gig this weekend, too bad it included a parachutejump Now I'm waiting for my 2 weeks of Greece, immediately followed by 2 days of festivalling... just great I'll post some pics next months, have some interesting shows coming up

    Next release

I'd like to know what the status / priority of the R&D department is right now... there are still loads of feature requests in the database, and its clear you guys are putting a lot of work into F2 (or something else for that matter). Any idea on how often software updates will be made, or when the debugging/upgrading of software will come to a stop?
  12. Ah... I hope so Didn't know that gone means broken too.
  13. Lamps and motors were GONE!!?! What the duck is that? Ok I've heard about hired lantern returning dead or beaten-up but stolen lamps & motors is really bad... weird folks u guys are, driving on the left, stealing parts :P
  14. sp Bwa, a nice wash is smooth & slow Just try me
  15. Yeah I know.. not to mention I'll have to buy it myself since I'm a lonely freelancer Maybe some of my employers will lend / share me some euro's, but still... I really doubt if it's gonna be worth it, on the other hand; awesome, timesaving tool!
  16. Here in Holland almost every theatre owns an ELC focus hand; don't u guys have something like that in the UK? Just typing in the DMX address sets the lantern on or off, easy as that... and completely wireless so it's really useful when focussing!! Check out http://www.elclighting.com/ for the site; White Light seems to be the distributor in the UK
  17. Nope never heard of them. When u render some more images in different colours, could you post those here? I'm still in serious doubt about buying a WYSIWYG package.
  18. For a hardrock show I'd use some deeper colours, and use the fixtures for effect. So yeah, 106 would do nice, 124, maybe some 022, 119, and u must definitely use something like 343/180 as a "Deep Purple" wash With the correct colours of your fixtures (macs have these colours) the effect of that is excellent. Use 8 of your floorspots on the back of the stage, left and right of the drumstage, stick 115 in them and have a blast! I'd raise the macs on the back if I were u. The macs at the drumstage have approx the same height, so maybe the effect is a little bit better when u raise those macs on the back, just rig 'em in the truss (render it and check the effect)
  19. Nice setup, though you're not showing too many different settings Which visualiser are you using for this?

    Frogs and the Future ?

Spilling money then... or does the internal harddrive doens't like it when the plug gets pulled out? Not running on WinXP are you? The wheels could be replaced by those rubber tracks, those work fine and seem to be of a bit better quality then the current wheels (I find them the weak spot of the hardware). The flash buttons could be altered also, maybe use a less cheap button (don't know if the current ones are?). And very important to me: a good internal design of the hardware prolongs the life of almost everything, including consoles! Never had to open up our console so keep it on this track
  21. In this case, I would use a fixture of only 1 channel (colour) for the scrollers. You use 18 intelli's, so there's space left for 6 scrollers on your leapfrog. BUT! Create a new fixture file, and assing 3 colour items to it. Working like that, every fixture takes 3 DMX channels, and has 3 colour attributes. Assing the fixture to DMX channel 250 and patch your scrollers like 250-251-252. Patch the lanterns to (for instance) 300-301-302 and patch those lanterns as generics. This way you can: * control the dim value of each lantern separately * control the colour of each scroller separately * use 6*3 = 18 scrollers... and even more when you create a second wheel group (more channels per fixture, but I don't think that's useful). The only thing I'm not quite sure about is the patching of the dimmer channel of a fixture; is that nescessary? In that case the fixture would have address 250, and the colour attributes would be at 251-252-253; don't hardpatch anything to address 250 (or use 1 lantern and separately patch the other 2 as generics). As you see; many solutions to the problem
  22. I think he means he's got some scrollers set to the same DMX address, on a couple of lanterns. He want to dim them separately, while the scroller colour stays the same, is that about it? Just use 1 fixture for the scroller only (just colour selection), and a few normal faders for the dimmer DMX addresses. Or rewrite the fixture file so there are 2 or more dimmers (but those would be LTP; maybe not too clever to do that).

    Frogs and the Future ?

I agree with the program mode, that would be nice... Also an easy way of using the interface for edititing stuff you'd normally wouldn't do while running the show. It's a nice and clean way of using the LCD / buttons / faders for different purposes while the desk stays 100% understandable. I'd like the idea of faderbanks with LCD's for viewing what you're doing intantly, although I can understand that that would increase costs a lot. Maybe just on the important things; or move some aspects around the LCD and use some buttons to switch LCD modes. Oh and that's another good point; the current usage of memory - submaster - output screens etc. is okay, but with the new desk I hope you can split that up. How many external monitors can be plugged in? One on the console itself and 2 externals would be sweet; 3 views at the same time, one with pallets; one with submasters etc... Another one; use some more buttons...! I think it would be a great idea to use 2 buttons per fader in some occasions. A flash and a select button or something... it's now impossible to use the buttons for anything else than pallets when u lock the pallet screen... that's understandable; but very annoying when you want to flash in time on a break or effect or something like that. Maybe a whole different section like the SX buttons would do nice in such a case.
  24. Sorry, using a different resolution I gues... will do that when I'm at home again.
  25. Jep that would be a nice feature! I'm working a leapfrog; so no SX buttons, but I use the submasters in the same way... program bank 1 for colour chases; bank 2 for beamshape and use bank 3 or memory playback x for brightness.
