  1. There's no fix yet... I certainly hope there not going to wait for the next software release, cause I though I read somewhere that's going to be as far away as next year? Too bad lighting software isn't open source I vote for frog.sourceforge.net
  2. Just program a decent show, install a footswitch and you've got no use for the entire console The GO button is a wonderful thing
  3. We've got a special green uhhhh don't know the English word for that; that thing you use for supplying power to several devices on just one outlet *feeling stupid now*
  4. Uhhh isn't that a LOT of work? I always select the fixtures I want to store in that pallet, and then store the pallet. You'd think that when removing the MACs their data would also be removed from the pallets, but a lot more gets lost in that process.
  5. Found another bug (99% it's a genuine one). This weekend I had a show with 4 Pro518 scans. 2 Weekends before that I already programmed some stuff for 4 MACs and 4 Pro518s, so I thought I was smart loading that show. All went well until I started deleting the MACs (unassigning those fixtures). Strangely enough with deleting the MACs I also removed pallet data for the 518s! I lost all colour pallets, lost beamshape pallets for only the 4th 518 (the first three worked fine!!?). If u want I can send the showfile so you can try; I loaded the show again and just left the MACs unpatched, but I guess such a thing should be possible without altering the info for the 518s right?? At first I didn't notice it was caused by deleting the MACs, so you'll understand I was quite dazzled
  6. The frog sounds like what you're looking for. When u use the effect generator, you can simply alter the speed of current moves with one of the control wheels. The Frogs channels and fixture are totally separated; so it's 96 channels AND 24 fixtures, all at the same time. WYSIWYG is lacking I'm afraid. The possibility of offline programming is given with the "Phantom Frog" which U can download from www.zero88.com. But I must say that's not really useful for things other than patching your DMX and assigning fixtures. It's really for setting up the desk, saving that to a floppy and program your lanterns onsite. I don't think you'll run into any problems. You could check the current fixture files to see if all of your fixtures are in there. If that's not the case; just post a DMX-table here and one of the guys here will set you up with a valid fixturefile. You could also of course create it yourself with the Fixture type editor. I hope that answers your questions, but as GLZ said; K-Nine will come and do his promotional-talk-thingy here
  7. LEE 119 does the trick Or 220: reduces 2 stops
  8. Every effect can be acheived, it's just the amount of work you're willing to put into it, that's true... But the way the topicstarted means to do it is impossible; that's like the "move while dark" function requested in other topics So I guess were both a little bit right
  9. No that's not possible.. such a feature has been requested though.
  10. Ok that's exactly what I too think of the console; but bigger shows and more lighting stuff requires more programming work, and more thinking-in-advance. Running the show would be pressing throug pre-defined programs; and that's not what I consider to be a live kind of operating (some opinion differ on this, I know). DMX-In would definitely solve some things, it would be neat hooking up the leap for conventionals, and using the 2 for the intelligent lighting. Combining the best of both consoles!
  11. Of course your absolutely right when you tell me to wait and try the console, and I definitely will. It's just the fact that the current Frog range is awesome, it offers great stuff for reasonable prices. The only thing missing is for instance the possibility of partial programming. Because the next console is named "Frog 2" and is announced as being a successor of the Frog I thought it would solve those kind of programming issues, offering a slightly improved interface. The Frog 2 like you're showing it at the moment is a completely new desk; the way of programming differs, the market it's aimed at differs, the price differs, etc. etc. In my opinion the only comparison with the "old" Frog consoles is the name. So I guess that fooled me for a while, thinking wrong things about the console. I'll stop speculating and wait for the console first, it's just that when I look at it now I'm not sure I'd buy one. And that's not because I think the console isn't going to rock, it just isn't going to be what I hoped it would be; and a Pearl is much more closer to that I guess. The way I see the F2 now is a great console when you've got a pretty nice rig and (very important) enough time to program you're lights, of course assuming you're going to get the software right that is.
  12. Sorry Pipo, but that's total bullshit! You know as well as me the Hog 2/3 has its wings, and it's not a kind of desk you'd use to do lighting for your top40 coverband this friday. Ever seen a Hog 1000 or Hog 2000? I rest my case... With my postings here I dont intend to flame anyone; I'm just wondering the things I'm asking, nothing wrong with that, right? It's not critisism, just noticing the way you guys are developing the new console and I think I would have made other choises being a Lighting tech & software developer myself. To erikje: dat zou goed kunnen ja.
  13. Okay so just to sum it up: you recommend a leap/fat frog for the somewhat smaller shows, and the Frog 2 will be usable for the larger type shows. It's gonna cost somewhat less than €10k, that's about the cost of an Avo Pearl 2004; which does bigger shows; is preferred & accepted by other tech's on bigger shows, and is also very usable for the smaller gigs. I'm just wondering what your marketing strategy on this console is going to be. The Avo's have been accepted by a whole lot of people, and the Frogs haven't. Creating a console which works best in the larger shows and costs just as much as an Avo, I don't know.. don't really get it at this moment.
  14. To be honestly I think this design is absolutely worthless without motorised faders. Than you would have the normal Frog like we have now, with the ability of partial programming down to attribute level, but with the generic faders replaced by those 10 "memory masters". And even like that I'm not quite sure yet... let's say I program page 1 for the frontlights, page 2 and 3 for backlighting (1 page on which every colour is programmed separately, and one for some combinations) and page 4 for the effects like blinders, floorspots, strobe etc. Let's say the desk has motorised faders, otherwise this wouldn't even be possible: I'd like to set my frontlight in page 1, no problem... I'd like to use pages 2 and 3 for flashing, so I'm working on those pages. There comes an accent; I'd have to change to page 4 and hit the button for a second, change back again and continue my show. Not really a cool idea. Maybe extending the number of faders to 24 would solve the problem a little bit, using the page-structure isn't a 100% substitute for a number of hardware faders / buttons. I still think the console is going to be nice, but these kind of things should really be thought of. When the situation is going to be like I described above; or even worse without any motorised faders... I'm not so sure I'd buy one for live stuff.
  15. Use the search; partial programming has been talked about many times. In short: full programmming = easy, partial is a bit more thinking work. But if you don't want to program everything when you hit program (not all LTP levels that is) you have to program partially. The rest you'll find with searching.
  16. A new demux isn't that expensive I think; just buy one that alters the dimmer curves (if such a demux exists?) and your problem should be solved I gues... To check if the demux is the problem, simply find/rent a analog desk and test it directly onto the dimmerunits.
  17. I don't know if they're planning to actually alter the hardware?
  18. You've got a pretty good point there; and I think it would be foolish releasing the console without proper software, so it's going to take I while I guess. After reading the piece of text NZ posted here I'm still wondering about live playback. The faders aren't motorized right? That would mean you've got 10 faders for the playback stacks which I don't fully understand, and only 10 faders for "whatever you want". But that would mean I'll program effects and stuff in the lower 10 faders, program effect speeds sizes etc. in the top 10 faders, but where would I leave the 24 channels I use for flashing? :?: On the current Frog I program like this: channels 1-24 are different colors of frontlight, some floorspots in the front and maybe some effects I don't use often. channels 25-48 contain the things I use often: backlighting for flashing, blinds, ACL, strobe's etc. My question: is it possible to program such a show, and still be able to hit a SINGLE button to get an accent for instance? Because if that's not the fact; this isn't going to be my console and Im going to but an Avo (sorry guys) No offence, just curious about the way you're going to handle such things.
  19. I was wondering if u guys could give us some more info on it. I can imagine the people who went to PLASA asked u all about it, and u told them some details on software, hardware, specifications etc. How about sharing that here? Unfortunately I wasn't there, but I'm still really eager to check out the way you sorted out several things. Just put the manual online or something like that K-Nine
  20. I already gave 2 informal training sessions, just talking about the possibilities the Frog has, short explanation of how-to program stuff, how the console is built etc. Maybe someone in your neighborhood is interested in doing this?? There are quite a few frog users around the country, so until a official training has been set up this might be interesting to have some of the basic knowledge? grtz from Holland
  21. Those plants were the idea of the organisation, but it turned out to be a great sight. Too bad; I had one setting in green & blacklight which was cool, but the picture of that one didn't turn out good because of the dark setting. I even had fountain plugged into a DMX-switchpack; that stood in front of the drumriser. Weird ideas (somewhat dangarous, combining fountains & electric things) but cool lookin'
  22. Nice one Yves! Do you rent lasers too, or was that another company?? Just some pics from last weekend: Herel aftersummer in Heerle: Organisation shot some pics too: Working with: * LeapFrog * 4x Mac 250 (and 4x 518 on that second party) * some 4bars contra (8/6) * some 110V front * audience blinds & smoke & strobe etc
  23. That should be black and green I guess But just leave the style like it is please
  24. What kinds of lanterns are you talking about if I may ask? With intelligent fixtures this is rather common... our MACs seem to be at 90% output while the fader is still around 50 or so. But that's got more to do with the shuttering I think. Check the curves on your dimmers.
