  1. Hi - I've just seen that the new upgrade is available. I'm loading in for a show tomorrow so I won't update now, seeing as everything is working pretty much. I wanted to ask about the desktop feature - I like the option to choose desktop 1,2,3 etc using the mouse at the bottom of the screen and I also use the wheels setting sometimes (because I have a dodgy LCD on my console, to see what the wheels do for each fixture) I want to use Desktop 3 for output, but I can't see how to add desktop 'panels' to each Desktop - tried pressing the 'output button' but it doesn't appear to do anything if Desktop 3 is selected. At the moment desktops 3 - 5 are all blank. Any clues? Thanks
  2. Hello, Apologies if this is a simple question. I'm trying to programme some LED PARs - I have 16 of them in a 4 x 4 array at the back of the stage. They're ADJ TriPAR Profile plus if that's relevant. I've programmed in a simple colour change effect on one of the playbacks (submaster) so that the fader controls the overall intensity of the pars and when I hit the 'go' button for that playback it fades into a new colour. I had a lot of frustration sorting that out but I think I have it sorted now. The fader controls the intensity, and the go button changes the colour using the fade time in the cue stack.. 8 of the 16 PARs form a nice 'arch' and so I want to bring up a second fader which will just control these 8 - so that, if, say, the 16 lights are on red, but the arch is on blue, those 8 light gradually fade from red to blue as I bring up the second fader. I'd like to be able to take the first fader down and just leave the arch on, or vice versa. I've been messing about with HTP and LTP and also fiddling with the colour fade / fader controls colour etc and getting nowhere. It seems to work for a while and then the colours either 'snap' without fading or they don't change at all. If you could let me know what I'm doing wrong I'd be grateful! It's a standard Solution running 7.9.2 Thanks Tim
  3. Ah - I might have found the issue - am I right in thinking that the desk uses percentages (0-100%) but the fixture editor goes by absolute values? So if it's a 16bit pan and tile 60 and 50 are very close to the start points anyway - should I be using 43690 for the pan and 32768 for the fixture profile?
  4. Hello, I am still quite new to programming the Solution so forgive me if this is a basic error, but I can't find the answer in the manual. I have a number of very small moving head wash lights (Orbit-70 from Gear4music) - they're not spectacular but they are cheap enough that I can buy 12! I have created a fixture for them using fixture tools - because they have 180degree tilt and 270degree pan I have set the default home positions in the fixture profile to 50 and 66 - so that they point vertically downwards when you press 'home.' However, this didn't seem to transfer when I loaded the fixture profile into the desk with the USB stick. They were going to 0,0 whenever I pressed 'home.' I did then edit the home position on the desk (I couldn't find the 'edit fixtures' setting mentioned in the manual, but I am running 9.4 software) but I did find a way to change it, and now the fixtures go to the correct place (50,66) when I press home. However, I've created a number of cues using these lights and saved to a submaster/cue stack, and when I pull the fader back to zero, the movers go back to 0,0. They go back to the correct place when I raise the fader again, but of course the light comes on too and sweeps across the stage which looks terrible! Am I doing something wrong, or is the a bug? it's the first time I've created a fixture profile with the tools and I think I've done it correctly, but would be grateful for any advice? I'll try and attach the fixture profile file in another message.
  5. Hello - I have a question abou the fan effect (I've just bought a Solution so I'm new to programing it) I will have 8 or 10 small moving heads on a truss and I wanted to know if it's easy to make the middle two act as the centre ones, rather than make just one the centre one? or do I need to have an odd number of fixtures and make one of the them the 'middle' one?
