  1. Hi Edward, Thanks for your response. Hmm, this isn't as ideal as what was in the Beta version. Since we have staff and students of different "technical" competence including very low, and having the desk start-up in a known state was the ideal. You know, "just turn it off and on again" and it should work, kind of thing. With this feature absent, we'll just have to train everyone and leave a quick-start guide next to the unit. But since people don't read in general, I can imagine it will be quite a few call-outs for tech assistance. Let me know if you have any ideas of how to make this easier. I suggest a "Base Scene" mode, with a password to lock out changes, such that it's always in a known configuration upon startup would be the best going into the future. Thanks again, Matthew
  2. Hello Edward, I have just installed Phantom ZerOS 7.9.5 and am having trouble finding the feature that you said was going to be included in this release, ie the "Boot up with Playbacks selected". Please see the 4 posts above from March 5th. I remember seeing this in a beta release, but can't find it in the official release. This is critical for us, as I have 5 FLX S's waiting for this feature before I deploy them around the educational site that I manage. It's been 6 months holding onto new devices waiting for this firmware upgrade. Can you please confirm that it has been implemented? Thanks in advance. Matthew
  3. Hi O Thompson, You could ask your network admin if they would do "DHCP address leasing by MAC address", that way the fixed MAC address of the console will always have the same IP. Then it would be effectively static, and you could know the address to connect with the Remote Monitor app. But since it's on a different subnet, Remote Monitor would still benefit from the proposed feature of "IP Address Saving", because it won't be populated automatically. Jon, Edward - thoughts? Cheers, MD.
  4. Hi Jon and Edward, (Sorry for the delay. Crazy busy.) This feature would be highly highly desired, so please look into including that into the next release. As I said, this is especially for emergency quick connect to remote consoles. We have ~7x FLX S's located on different sub-nets, which physically translates to different buildings and/or venues in a large educational institution. IP addresses: (eg) 10.1.20.32 (Gateway = 10.1.20.1) 10.5.20.45 (Gateway = 10.5.20.1) 10.9.20.56 (Gateway = 10.9.20.1) ... etc. ie:- "10 . Building# . AV_Net . FLX_IP_Address_in_that_venue" Subnet Mask are 255.255.255.0 for all buildings. Since the remote monitoring or controlling computer could be anywhere, including not on the same subnet, there will never be more than one FLX automatically populated on the list, if any. So a "saved list" of IP's and passwords would be incredibly advantageous from a customer support perspective. Thanks again in advance. Matthew
  5. Hello, We have 7x FLX S consoles on our site. When I open the Remote Monitor App, I need to manually enter the IP, name and password of each console every time. This is very annoying, especially for emergency venue support. Is there a way that the program can save the manually added consoles, so that I get a list of which device I could connect to? I use the "Remote Monitor" app on iPad, iPhone and on the PC. So a solution for all platforms would be ideal. Thanks in advance. Regards, Matthew
  6. Hi Edward, Could this please be put in as a feature request? Perhaps a "Shift + Backspace" clears the whole command line. Thanks in advance. Matthew
  7. Thanks Edward, Is there a command for clearing the whole command line? Pressing Backspace clears one field, but I'm finding I need to press this many times if there's a large command line built up. Thanks in advance. Matthew
  8. Hi Edward, Thanks again for your response. This is a very productive thread. So can you please confirm that this is the current answer to my initial questions, combined from multiple threads and messages:- Controlling FLX S via a keyboard in "ZerOS Remote Monitor" App (on PC/Laptop or Tablet):- Z / Shift Key (toggle) Cntl + Z (To exit "Quick Access Functions", press Cntl + Z again.) (Enters "Quick Access Functions", but this is only displayed on the Internal screen, not the external monitor.) Channel / Playback (toggle) Not currently possible; however a "boot up option" will exist in ZerOS 7.9.5 when you can choose which option to display by default. Page Change 1..48:49..96 (toggle) Not currently possible, and not planned for next OS release. Record Not currently possible, and not planned for next OS release. (To get out of this menu press "Backspace" ie Clear.) Update Not currently possible, and not planned for next OS release. (To get out of this menu press "Backspace" ie Clear.) Delete Not currently possible, and not planned for next OS release. (To get out of this menu press "Backspace" ie Clear.) Setup Shift + F10 (To get out of this Menu press Shift + F10 again.) Clear Backspace View In ZeroS 7.9.5 there are virtual buttons to select which view/desktop to display System Information Shift + F9 Help Shift + Left + Right (To exit Help, press Shift + Left + Right again.) (or F1 , though this is often buggy.) Lock Left + Right + Enter Go Spacebar Exit Alt + F4 (This doesn't work in the App, and it closes screens on the external monitor !?!) Thru > @ * OR @ Except - And + Full Page Up Rem Dim Shift + Page Up There are also some shortcuts available:- Set Intensity to 100% @@ Set Intensity to 0% @. [ie at dot] Select all channels that are currently on (ie above 0%) Enter Enter [ie Enter Enter] References:- Keyboard shortcuts compatible with a keyboard/ZerOS Remote Monitor [http://support.zero88.com/998481801] Syntax Page in the FLX training notes is also applicable for FLX S, with the exception of a few buttons FLX S doesn't have. [http://support.zero88.com/1011387501] Syntax Overview [ https://eaton.nanorep.co/storage/nr1/kb/2AD62C9/3879A76B/3C488C6D/2/Syntax Overview.pdf] Please confirm if these are correct, and I will create a document to send to our Venue Supervisors for controlling the FLX S's. Thanks in advance, Matthew
  9. Thanks again Edward, So is that Boot Option going to be in the next release? That will be a good start. Regards, Matthew
  10. Hi Edward, Thanks for your reply. If possible, can this please be escalated, as this feature is really important to our situation. The use case is:- A user turns on the whole venue from a Touch Panel inside the performance space, which powers up the FLX S48 (via a networked PDU). (But the rack and FLX S is located 2 mins walk away, up many stairs in a BioBox.) The user turns on the iPad and connects to the FLX S via "ZerOS Remote Monitor" app to control the lighting remotely. The user still CANNOT control the lighting because they have to walk up to the biobox and press just ONE button, ie "Playbacks" in order to control the playback scenes from the iPad. Once pressed, the lighting scenes can be fully controlled for the production via the iPad. I am hoping it's a small change in code, and quickly implementable, as this would allow instant control of lighting upon startup on the console without having the inconvenience and delay of walking. PS - we have just purchased 3x FLX S48's and 3x FLX S24's, under the impression that these could be controlled via an iPad, but this issue is currently preventing us from delivering this feature to a large Educational Institution. Regards, Matthew.
  11. Thank you Edward for your response, and for all the developments in the new version. I have installed the latest Beta release and I can see the new options on the External monitor. It's so much better, but still missing a few options to enable control when not at the console, (eg controlling the lights via an iPad or laptop):- Could you please include the controls:- A virtual button for changing the Fader Display to be "Channels" or "Playbacks". ie on the external monitor, in the bottom half, in the MFF display window, when "Fader" is selected: please include the ability to choose Playbacks or Channels on the ZerOS Monitor app. The ability to select pages "1..48" or "49..96", on the ZerOS Monitor app. I know you can change apps to the "Remote" app to change these, but it inconvenient during live support, and would be better if it was all in the same app, ie ZerOS Monitor. Thanks in advance. Matthew
  12. Thank you for your response. And sorry for my delayed response. So there's no hard fault in doing this, just a reliability and security issue. Thanks again. Matthew
  13. Hello, Is there a way to trigger these buttons from the ZerOs monitor app:- Z / Shift Key (toggle) Channel / Playback (toggle) Page Change 1..48:49..96 (toggle) Record Update Delete Setup Clear View Reason:- Since the ZerOS Monitor displays what is on the FLX S external monitor of the console, therefore from my PC (or iPad), I can only control and see whatever is actually displayed on the external monitor. So when the console powers on in "Channels" mode, if I am not near the console, there is no way I can control the "Playbacks" unless someone at the console presses the "Playback / Channels" button. Likewise, pressing the "View" button will affect the monitor, etc. So is there a way to have these buttons "pressed remotely" via the app? Perhaps a keyboard shortcut? It would be ideal to have full remote control of the console via an App. There is already the ability to change between "Programming" and "Palettes" in the ZerOS Monitor App by pressing the on-screen button with a mouse or finger. Perhaps additional buttons could be added here for: "Channels/Playbacks", "Views", "Page Change 1..48:49..96", etc. Thanks in advance.
  14. Hello, is there a list of keyboard shortcuts for the FLX S consoles for when I'm using a USB keyboard in the console, or for ZerOS Monitor App on a remote PC or iPad? I have worked out a few., eg selecting / adding / excluding channels. Are there commands for Select "1 THRU 10" Selecting attributes Thru Record Update Delete etc. There is a list on page 5 on the FLX Training Guide ( https://eaton.nanorep.co/storage/nr1/kb/2AD62C9/3879A76B/3AF13603/5/Zero 88 Training Session - FLX training notes.pdf ), but what about for the FLX S models? NB:- the "@" symbol on Australian keyboards is on the number 2, whereas in the FLX is expects it to be on 8. So SHIFT+"8" gives me the "@". Thanks in advance. Matthew
  15. Hi Edward, Thanks for you reply. The 1024x768 resolution must be what is causing the pixelated image on the external monitor, and also the iPad. I'm guessing it's the same image used for both, just stretched over the external monitor, and again on the iPad? Are there any plans to improve the resolution of this image? The Phantom ZerOS has a cleaner more native pixel allocation, except for the Front Panel window, which is almost unreadable, even at full maximised state. (please see screen shot attached). And this happens for both "High Quality Scaling" on or off, in the settings. Please advise if there is a way to setup the computer of FLX to obtain better images for any of the above. Thanks in advance, Regards, Matthew
  16. Thank Edward, So the company LAN consists of 18 buildings each with a different subnet address. ie 10.Building_ID.VLAN_ID.Device_ID The following devices will be connected to a network switch in one building:- Zero88 FLX S48 (via ethernet port, art-net protocol) Crestron Room Processor Pro2 (or DMPS3) via Art-Net Enttec Datagate Mk2 ie https://www.enttec.com/products/network-and-distribution/dmx-management/datagate-mk2/ The Datagate Mk2 will then merge the FLX S and the Crestron Art-Net streams, plus merge the DMX input port from some DMX keypads around the venue. (So a three way merge in the Datagate Mk2.) Then output a single DMX port to the dimmers. (There will also be internal software switches and priority merges utilised inside the Datagate. And we may also use RDM to query the dimmers.) However, remote iPad control of the FLX (and Crestron) system is required via the WAP in the same building. (And this works well, btw, already tested 🙂 But from all other buildings via wired connections and WAP / Wifi connections, we need to be able to monitor and control the FLX for AV remote venue support. Again this is tested, and seems to work. The company LAN is fairly wide (18x buildings), and there is a gateway, such that our VLAN has access to the internet. So the FLX is on an internet accessible network, however, through a gateway with a strong firewall. There will also be up to 5 or more FLX S's on the whole network, as we roll out lighting console upgrades. So does the above network structure seem like a suitable and stable setup to you, Edward? Thanks very much in advance, Regards Matthew
  17. Hello, The screen graphics on some of the external devices of our FLX S is very pixelated and unclear to read. This includes with the External Monitor (DVI), Phantom ZerOs (on the PC), iPad, and iPhone. Is there an optimal resolution for the various screens? Is there some way to force the windows or screen resolutions to the optimal / native resolution so that the words are clear and more readable? Thanks in advance.
  18. Hello, All throughout the FLX S manual it says, "NB: FLX S should not be connected to the Internet" Why is this so? I have about 5x FLX S's that are intended to sit on an educational network spanning many buildings, [10.x.y.z, where x = 1 to 20 subnets] and I need to:- have remote control of the consoles within in the venues over Wifi (on the same LAN), eg via Android and iOS. have remote monitoring from within the AV Office, (on the same LAN, but wired). The main option for a network is the college's LAN, which is highly Firewall-ed internally. However, it is connected the the Internet. I would also need to add a few ArtNet nodes onto the same LAN, to also be controlled and monitored by a PC, Smartphone, and sometimes an FLX S. Can anyone please explain the risks of this situation and reasons why I should or shouldn't go ahead with this idea? Thanks in advance.
