  1. Hello,

    Sorry to hear this.

Have you created a show file from a fresh install, or have you loaded an existing show file into the new software? Please could you send us a copy of this show file to support@zero88.com, and we’ll take a look to see if there’s anything causing the issue.

Has the console offered to dump a debug file to USB? If so could you send these across?

It is possible to roll back the software to ZerOS 7.9.4 if you wish, however we haven’t come across this issue before. ZerOS 7.9.4 can be downloaded here...

For information on setting Default values, see below...

By the way it would be awesome to have a second window with White, Amber, and UV or what ever needed by the color picker. (Im thinking about buing rgbwauv par)

The colour picker will use RGBW chips for colour mixing if present. Other chips will be available via the encoders.

Hope this helps, if you have any questions just let us know.

  2. Hello,

See if there is a “Shutter” parameter or similar under the Beam attribute. What value is this set to?

Most fixtures personalities should be configured so that when intensity is raised, you will achieve White light output. Therefore parameters such as RGBW or Shutter are preset at values specified in the fixture’s manual to allow this.

  3. Hi Steve,

Just to confirm, what console is this on? What software version were you running previously before updating?

I would recommend doing a fresh install of ZerOS 7.9.5, using the instructions available here...

    http://support.zero88.com/1518910761

Once ZerOS 7.9.5 is freshly installed, you should find new effects are available when you press the "Auto Create Effects" button.

If loading in the show file into the freshly installed software is still causing issues, please send us a copy of your show file to support@zero88.com, and one of the team will take a look to see what may be causing the issues.

    Hope this helps,

    Edward

  4. Hi Paul,

Just to double check, the software installation application to be loaded into the console is "ZerOS OS Creator USB - v7.9.5 17-5-2019 MD.exe". If you are running ZerOS 7.9.4 you will be able to tap SETUP -> Load File, and choose this file and load it in.

Also available with the ZerOS 7.9.5 download is Phantom ZerOS 7.9.5. This is not the console software - this is the offline editor. If you try loading this into the console you will receive the error you described.

Hope this helps and solves the issue.

  5. Hi Walid,

If you wish to communicate with Light Converse, you'll need to route your lighting data to the PC's loopback IP address, which is 127.0.0.1. It will be one of the IP options on Phantom for each protocol.

I believe Light Converse will be listening on this IP, however you may need to manually change this in Light Converse.

Only use one of the protocols to communicate with Light Converse, and disable the rest. It doesn't matter which protocol you use from Phantom's point of view - I'm not sure whether Light Converse recommend a protocol in particular.

Hope this helps, if you have any questions just let us know.

is this the same a No Effect or would it HOME the fixtures C/B/P too (which is probably undesirable).

EFFECT + HOME is the same as the No Effect palette - it simply stops any effects running (the syntax EFFECT 0 ENTER also does the same). In the same way COLOUR + HOME will just home the colour of the selected fixture.

Also creating the block cue would disrupt move-on-dark for other fixtures. If this understanding is right and hence there are implications, how else could this be achieved?

It would only give hard values for that cue, therefore only fixtures that needed to Move On Dark for the next cue wouldn't be prepped. When you go into the cue after the block, fixtures could then move on dark for when they're next used.

  7. Hello,

SmartTag will register a fixture as "off" when at 0%. Therefore if a fixture is at 1% SmartTag will include it.

If this is causing you problems, you can simply hold RECORD, tap SmartTag so that it has a blue stripe meaning disabled, and then press RECORD to close the window. Now all tagged fixtures will be recorded, including those at 0%.

For more information on tagging including SmartTag, see below...

    http://support.zero88.com/1014189311

Fixtures can't be created with a minimum parameter level.

    Hope this helps,

  8. Hi Simon,

There isn't a way of undoing updates. Currently there is no way of importing certain parts of a show file.

Best practice before doing updates, is to ultimately save your show file, but also copy your Master Playback to a different playback, as a backup. You can then copy from this backup, back over the top of the Master playback.

  9. Hello,

Have you changed the Master Playback's Fader Function? To find out hold SETUP and press the Master Playback's button. The default is HTP Master. If it is set to either of the Manual Fade options, the Go button is disabled. The fader's travel will then allow you to advance between cues instead of the button. If you want to use the Go button, change this back to HTP Master.

    Hope this helps,

    Edward

  10. Hi Kevin,

No reference number for this one currently.

When RECORD is pressed, and an empty palette button marked with an asterisk is touched, this automatically applies that attribute’s relevant filters.

However when RECORD is followed by the attribute key, the attribute filter is automatically applied in the record window, however then allows you to customise the attributes. If you were to press a palette button at this point, the usual rule is applied and only that relevant attribute is stored. Whereas if the palette number is typed, followed by enter, this stores your palette with your custom attribute filter.

    Hope this helps,

    Edward

  11. Hi Kevin,

This can be done via syntax.

For an ICBE effect palette, create your effect, tap RECORD -> EFFECT, choose the attributes you wish to include from the Record Options, applying a green filter, type the effect palette number you wish to store to, followed by ENTER to complete the command.

    Hope this helps,

    Edward

One more question regarding MIDI and the MTC section in the linked article:
"...Any cue across any playback can be assigned a Time Code stamp, meaning that when this clock time is received, this cue will be triggered....":
On reverse closure that means if I want to use MTC for more then one song I have to somehow deal with an offset in the MTC, meaning I can't start the timecode for all songs at 0:00:00:00, right?

That's correct - an example in this situation would be to have each song number as the hour number, and then the timings specific to that song.

For example song 1 could start on 01:00:00:00 and have its specific timings, and then song 2 would start at 02:00:00:00. After the first song your MIDI source could then stop the first clock, and start the next for each song.

    Hope this helps,

    Edward

  13. Hi Chris,

At the point of recording the Colour Effect, the fixture's position parameters must have been tagged.

For example after recording your position effect, if you select your fixtures and tap HOME, then apply your colour effect, and then record this to a playback, all parameters including position will have been tagged. Therefore the fixtures will go back home when the playback is raised. Whereas if you select your fixtures and type @@ (or any other method to control just intensity), then apply the colour effect, only intensity and colour will be tagged in that playback. You can therefore layer the position and colour effects across the same fixtures.

    Hope this helps,

    Edward
