Hello, That’s correct, palettes can have the same value for each fixture stored, or each fixture can have their own value. With colour palettes, if fixtures contained in the palette don’t all have the same RGB(W) values, you won’t be shown a colour preview on the palette tile. Edward

Hi Carl-Anders, Firstly, welcome to the Zero 88 Forum. When in Channels fader function, the buttons below the faders will always act as channel select buttons. There is currently no way of changing these to be a flash function. If you do wish to have the ability to flash certain fixtures, you can record these onto playback faders, and use the playback buttons to flash them. Hope this helps, Edward

Hi Thierry, This is for FLX series and ORB series only. For Solution, when you run through cues the blue highlighted cell should remain on the cue number. If you press ENTER, the MFKs will allow you to type in a cue number. Press ENTER, and this will change the chosen Next cue. You can then press GO, to go to this cue. Alternatively, in your example to go back a single cue, you can double press Pause. Hope this helps, Edward

Hi Zulu, If you tap SETUP -> Upgrade, you will see the console's current universe allocation, and the maximum it can be upgraded to, which will be 2. What is your console reporting as its current universe count? Even if you have a 1 universe console, you will still be able to patch onto universes 1 to 64, as long as your total patched channels doesn't exceed your allowed universe count. You could therefore still assign universe 1 and universe 2 to the 5 pin and 3 pin output, even if you have a 1 universe console. Hope this helps, Edward

Hi Thierry, To insert a cue, create your lighting state, tap RECORD, and then using the MFKs or an external keyboard, type the cue number you wish this to be stored as (such as 2.5 for example), and then press the playback button you wish to store this cue onto. Hi Zulu, Glad to hear you got the tape working. It sounds like it has been disabled. You can check this by tapping SETUP -> Universes -> Desk Universe 1, and ensure that both output 1 and output 2 are assigned to be outputting universe 1. If you only see Output 1 under Desk Universe 1, click Add, type 2, and click OK to add DMX output 2. Hope this helps, let me know how you get on. Edward

Hello, This option has been added thanks to the firmware update. Continuous streams DMX at a rate of 29Hz. Delta streams DMX packets whenever there is a change in DMX data from the console. If there are no changing values from the console, the data rate drops 1Hz. It is therefore a useful option to use for a couple of reasons. Firstly if there are DMX devices on the line that are not truly DMX compliant, changing this could help control them, by changing the data rate. It also can be useful when running effects. If in continuous the parameter changes would happen 29 times a second, whereas delta would increase this for an update every time there is a change. It’s therefore an option that you’ll probably not need to change, but useful to have if you run into any issues. Edward

Hello, Cues have a single colour time, which is the time it takes to change the fixture from its current colour, to the colour stored in the cue. This can also be delayed if necessary. Edward

Hi Neil, That's great, glad to hear it. To delete a fixture, tap SETUP to enter Setup, which takes you to the fixture schedule. In here, use the channel select buttons to select the fixtures you wish to get rid of. When you can only see fixtures you wish to get rid of listed, press DELETE. You can then confirm this. This action cannot be undone, and these fixtures will have been removed from any cues they were recorded in. Hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know. Edward

Hi Thierry, It sounds like you have Fader Controls Colour enabled for that playback. When fader controls is enabled for an attribute of a playback, that attribute's parameters will ignore the fade times defined for the cues. To disable this, hold SETUP and tap the playback's button to open the Playback Settings. From the settings, tap Colour to disable it, indicated with a blue button stripe. Click OK, and you will then be able to use cue fades. Hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know. Edward

Hi Zidi, Welcome to the Zero 88 Forum. Currently on FLX S consoles, only one set of RGB controls per patched fixture can be applied to the colour mixing and effects. This is why you will find the colour picker and effects only work for the first cell of your batten. If you wish to gain best control over each RGB cell of the fixture, the recommended method is to patch each individual set of RGB as an individual fixture on your FLX S. Looking at the Varytec GigaBar II manual, I would recommend using it in 24 channel mode, and patching 6 sequential RGB cells into the console per fixture. As channel faders are in banks of 6, you could have a batten per bank, and push them all up to turn the fixture on. You will then be able to fan colours, and run effects across the whole batten. Hi Neil, Firstly, welcome to the Zero 88 Forum. Would you like this fader to control just the colour wheel, or the intensity too? To record the colour wheel along with intensity to a playback, select the fixture and turn it on, and dial the colour wheel up to the maximum DMX value you wish the fader to be able to take the wheel to. Then, tap RECORD, and tap an empty playback. Then hold SETUP and tap the playback's button to open the Playback Settings. From the General Settings, choose "Colour" under Fader Controls..., so that it is enabled, indicated with a red stripe. Click OK, and you will then find as the intensity is raised with the fader, the colour wheel will be scaled from the current value, to the recorded level. To record the colour wheel without intensity, select the fixture, and again dial the colour wheel encoder to the maximum level. Then press and hold RECORD, to open the Record Options window. From the options disable SmartTag, so that it has a blue stripe on the button. Then tap an empty playback button to store this to. Again go into the settings and enable Fader Controls Colour. You can then apply intensity to the fixture using another playback or the channel faders, and then use this playback to control the wheel. To turn SmartTag back on, press and hold RECORD to open the options, tap SmartTag to enable it (shown with a red stripe), and tap RECORD to save and close this option. Hi Wai, To stop moving fixtures going back home after lowering a playback fader, hold SETUP and tap the playback's button. From the Playback Settings tap Raise & Lower, and disable release on lower. The playback fader will by default control the intensity level of the playback. Hope this helps, Edward

Hi Roger, Do you mean visualisation software? There are various packages available that are compatible with Macs. Personally I have used WYSIWYG, Vectorworks, Light Converse and Capture. The Zero 88 team use Capture for training and demonstrations, using the CITP protocol to communicate between Capture and ZerOS. All the best, Edward

Hi Zulu, If you choose LED Unit under Generic manufacturers in Add Fixtures, and see a 3Ch RGB LED with virtual intensity fixture, ensure you patch this. If you just see 3Ch RGB LED, choose this (depending on the version of the Fixture Library on the console, you will see different fixtures). As Kevin describes, always use a virtual intensity if there isn’t a dedicated intensity parameter. Have you got a 2 universe or 1 universe FLX S. If you have a 2 universe console, the 3 pin output will be universe 2 by default. You therefore need to patch your RGB LED unit onto desk universe 2, or under SETUP -> Universes -> Desk Universe 1, also add DMX output 2. You will then need to ensure the DMX address configured on the dip switches/ the address you have used in LightFactory, is matching on FLX S. If this still doesn’t help, patch 3 dimmers to channels 1 through to 3, on DMX 1 through 3. Address the decoder to DMX address 1, and ensure both DMX Outputs are outputting the required universe. You can then use each channel fader, and should control RGB. To see the raw DMX you are sending, tap Z/Shift -> System Information -> DMX Outputs. Hello, If you wish to control the intensity of a group of fixtures using a playback fader, double tap the group, tap RECORD, and choose an empty playback fader. If you were looking to select the group of fixtures whilst raising the playback fader, FLX S consoles are unable to do this. On the FLX console, you could program a macro to do this.
