  1. Interesting, OK thanks Kevin. Edward
  2. Hi Claire, Have you saved a new stick on the USB stick from the console? Have you been able to try a different USB stick? Sometimes Jesters didn't like larger USB sticks - see if you can try a 1GB - 8GB stick. Edward
  3. Hi both, No it isn't, we will have to look at this. @kgallen - Do you get notifications when I tag you like this? Or if I quote you like this?! Or is it seemingly just random? Edward
  4. Hello, Have you gone into the Notification Settings here... https://zero88.com/forum/notifications/options/ At the bottom of this page you can customise when you receive emails. Edward
  5. Hi Claire, Try saving again (try a different USB stick if needs be), give the show a new name so you don't overwrite the existing show on the USB stick, and then plug into a PC. You should see your new show on the USB stick. Edward
  6. Hi Claire, When you save a show and give it a name, you are saving the whole desk state. Therefore when you load a show, you are removing the whole current show and replacing it with the loaded show. Edward
  7. Hi Claire, Pressing <Load Show>, allows you to choose which show file to load from the USB stick. Once you have chosen the show, you can then click OK, and the current show will then be removed from the console. Edward
  8. Hi Oliver, Thanks for the information and for testing this. We have received your email to support. We will reply with the best steps to make next. If you have any question let us know. Edward
  9. Hi Oliver, I'd recommend getting a can of air duster, and squirting this in the problem fader, and running it up and down with normal pressure applied. If you then boot the console with SETUP held down, you will then be able to see the fader behaviour on screen. If this fader is still registering incorrect values as you move it, the console may need a replacement fader. Feel free to send us an email to support@zero88.com, and we can advise on replacement. If you have any questions let us know. Edward (I saw your personal message to me, but figured it would make sense to keep this all in one thread).
  10. Hi Rob, I’m not sure off the top of my head, will have to check when I’m next in the office. Unfortunately we haven’t had many requests for these, so other enhancements have taken priority. The best way of achieving this behaviour currently, is to manually program colour, beam and position information in dark, to manually prep them. Therefore if you need a fixture to have timings different to the Move On Dark timing of the playback, record a cue with manual colour, beam and position information in with the fixture dark. To do this you will need to disable SmartTag in the Record Options window, to allow you to store a fixture with 0% intensity. You can then define your own custom fade times for the cue. You can also do this for the cue with the “Next” command in it. In this cue, prep your fixtures manually for the cue you’re jumping to - again with SmartTag disabled to store the colour, beam and position values with the fixture at 0%. Hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know. Edward
  11. Hi Rob, As far as the console is concerned, it will be treating the CTO parameter just like any other, and it will be using the colour fade time at the same rate as the other colour parameters. As Kevin suggests, you may be seeing the CTO parameter fade from cooler colours into the warmer colours, and therefore go via blues. The very basic description of how CTO typically works, is depending on the level of the CTO parameter, the fixture will essentially add a “max level” in for the RGBW parameters, and as the CTO is raised, the blue chips will be lowered, hence warming the colour temperature. This allows you to therefore mix a colour using the colour picker, and then warm it up by increasing the CTO. If you are getting some odd colour fades through doing this, I’d recommend programming second cue after the RGBW fade, and then change the CTO. This could automatically follow afterwards, and have its own custom fades to get the colour path you need. Hope this helps, Edward
  12. Hi Claire, If you can only see a single show on the USB stick, then unfortunately “Show 2” hasn’t saved properly. If you go to <Load Show> on the Jester, what shows can you see on the USB stick? Edward
  13. Hi Wolfgang, A quick way to do this for a single lighting state on a playback, is to change the button function to be a Go. To do this, press and hold SETUP, and tap the playback’s button. The bottom row options allows you to customise the button function, where you can choose Go fade or Go snap. Go fade will use the cue fades, Go snap will ignore them. Click OK, and now the button under the fade will get the fixtures in their colours, beams and positions, allowing you to simply raise intensity over the top using the fader. Hope this helps, Edward
  14. Hi Mil, Yes, there are two ways of doing this. The simplest way, is holding SETUP, and tapping the playback’s button. This will open the playback settings, when you can enable Effect under fader controls. As well as controlling intensity with the fader, it will also control the effect speed and size. The other option, is to use Speed Override. Speed override can be found on the second encoder wheels when you press Z/Shift. This allows you slow down or speed up any active effects in the currently viewed playback. To change which playback you are viewing, press and hold VIEW, and tap the playback you wish to view. Hope this helps, Edward
This is because colour by default mixes LTP. Please see the guide below, on how to colour mix on faders... http://support.zero88.com/1014413041 Hope this helps, Edward
  16. Hi Claire, To reset the patch to 1:1, go into the <DMX Patch> menu in Super User, and press and hold CLEAR for a second. For more information on patching, see page 30 of the manual here... https://zero88.com/storage/downloads/7d3249f0-bde3-471d-8830-d4253ff0dc06/Jester-Manual-3.4.pdf Hope this helps. Edward
  17. Hi Kevin, Yes you can, however to do this you would need to choose "Keys" rather than "Commands", and you would need to use an external keyboard. So: RECORD MACRO x ENTER -> Keys -> 1 THRU @ . RECORD NAME DBO ENTER MACRO Edward
  18. Hi Kevin, Yes, 1 THRU, and not defining an end value, will select fixture 1 through to the last. So rather than "ENTER ENTER @ .", "1 THRU @ . ", giving all fixtures a 0 value that cannot be tracked into. Don't forget we say SmartTag ignores fixtures at 0% intensity, but if there is a 0% value in the programmer, this does get stored, just nothing else about the fixture will. For this example, type: RECORD MACRO x ENTER -> Commands -> 1 THRU @ . RECORD ENTER MACRO. You can then either type MACRO x ENTER, or simply tap it on screen to program your blackout. Taking this a step further, you could type MACRO x RECORD, and tap a UDK. A single tap of this UDK records your blackout cue. Hope this helps, Edward
  19. Rather than snapshotting blackouts, use the syntax 1 THRU @ . RECORD ENTER. To store a block blackout, allowing move on dark to still work. This is one of those syntax strings you could record as a macro if you wish, so you simply press your macro and it records the cue. Edward
  20. Hi Peter, No problem, if you have any questions let me know. Edward
  21. Hi Rob, Good question. When it comes to computing, "program" is preferred!... https://www.grammarly.com/blog/program-programme/ If you have programmed all your cues, and then want to add in movers, this is where tracking may come in very useful. If you want to add a fixture in, and only add it into the current cue, you will need to update cue only. If you would like to add your movers into multiple cues, for example, a gobo wash over the top of several other lighting states for the duration of the scene, do a track forwards update, to add the new light in. This update will then track through subsequent cues, until that light has new information from a cue further down the stack. Therefore if you recorded a blackout which didn't have information for the light, you will need to go into the blackout, and update this cue too, to take the light back out. Obviously updating 2 cues is much easier than updating 10 that all needed your mover added in, when you could have simply done a tracking update. The Cue Only option shouldn't affect move on dark behaviour. This is where SmartTag comes in. With SmartTag enabled, it will not store information for fixtures at 0%. This therefore allows their parameters to be prepped, ready for a future cue when they're next used. I'd recommend taking a look at our "Simplifying Jargon" series of videos i you haven't already. One of these is on tracking, and another is on cue only, which hopefully will clear things up... https://zero88.com/jargon If you have any questions as always let us know. Edward
  22. Hi Shane, Thanks, we’ll take a look into this. Thanks for letting me know. Yes if an attribute is enabled under fader controls, this attribute’s cue fade times will be ignored. Edward
  23. Hi Peter, Thank you for your detailed post. It sounds like you’re almost there. These are exactly the steps needed. Remember, the reason pressing CLEAR is important, is because it allows you to remove your manual information from the channel faders. If you don’t press CLEAR, the channel faders will still be controlling those fixtures, not the playbacks, as values from the channel faders, displayed in red in the output window, have the highest priority on the console. For more information on the colours see you see in the Output Window, see below... http://support.zero88.com/1011707591 The default options in the Record Options are SmartTag and Cue Onlt enabled, indicated with a red stripe. For more information, see below... http://support.zero88.com/1014189311 When you have programmed your lighting state, using the channel faders, there are simply three things you’ll need to do to use your playbacks. These steps are: - Lower your faders - Press Clear twice (if no fixtures are selected, simply press it once), and the clear button will turn off - Tap fader function to toggle to playbacks You can then push up your playbacks, and you’ll see your intensity fade in with the raise of the fader, and colour/positions will fade in. To adjust these fades, press and hold VIEW and press the playback’s button, to view the cue stored on the playback. Correct, to edit a lighting state, push the playback up, toggle to channels, and tweak the lighting levels and other attributes. When happy, tap UPDATE, and then the flashing playback button you wish to update. Doing this automatically takes all the values you have manually adjusted using the channel faders, and puts them into the cue, you’ll therefore notice the clear button turns off automatically. That’s correct - by default the console will store the whole current lighting state when you press RECORD. When you are then mixing playbacks, you will see that intensity mixes using Highest Takes Precedence (HTP) between playbacks, and colours, beams and positions will mix Latest Takes Precedence (LTP). HTP being whichever playback has the highest level for a fixture takes control of that fixture, and LTP being whichever playback has been raised most recently controls the fixture. If you’re able to, I’d recommend looking at attending a FLX training session, where we spend time going through this on a real console with a virtual rig of lights connected. For a list of our free FLX training dates and locations, see below... https://zero88.com/training#eventdates Hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know. Edward
  24. Hello, Welcome to the Zero 88 Forum. To trigger a chase on a playback from a cue, click the Settings button of the cue you wish your chase to start in. The Settings button is found at the end of a cue's row. From the Settings, click Macros..., and then choose Trigger Cue Stack. You can then press the flashing button of your chase on the console, or press the chase on the touchscreen. Then OK the Macros window, and OK the Cue Settings window. Now when you go into the cue, the chase will fade in using the cue's fade times. You will then need to go into the settings of the cue you wish the chase to stop in, but this time choose Release Cue Stacks. For more information, see page 50 of the FLX range manual. Hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know. Edward
  25. Hi Mil, Welcome to the Zero 88 Forum. As you have found, most effects have an auto offset. If you want to quickly change this, you can use the quick offset options along the top of the effects window. If you want to customise the offset, you can use the Offset encoder wheel. If you simply dial the Offset wheel, in the same way when you dial speed you give that speed value to all selected fixtures, you give the displayed offset value to all selected fixtures. As a result, each fixture is not offset from one another. As Kevin mentions above, if you hold SHIFT and dial the Offset encoder, you fan the offset values across the selected fixtures, in the order of selection. There are 4 fan behaviours to choose from, which can be configured by holding SETUP, and tapping the Effect tab. You can then hold Z/SHIFT, and choose the Fan behaviour you would like when the Shift key is held. Hope this helps, if you have any questions let us know. Edward
