  1. Hi Mac, The most time consuming part of these situations, is simply getting the fixtures patched, let alone thinking about starting to program them. If the fixtures are RDM, RigSync will sort this out, otherwise it will be a case of working out what fixtures you have, and if they are in an existing suitable address and mode, getting them patched in. Fixture swap-out/change/morph/replace is ultimately all the same thing - the ability for the console to replace an existing fixture in the show, with a different fixture, applying all information such as programming to the new fixture. With the addition of the new fixture library in ZerOS 7.9.8 and later, fixture changes are now far more detailed, due to the extra information in the fixture database. This will help ensure the new fixture uses the same positions, colours, intensities etc in all your cues and palettes. If you have existing fixtures in your show, which are not used in a venue, you can therefore use these as templates, and perform a change profiles to replace the existing fixture with the venue's fixtures. If you have more fixtures in a venue than you had programmed in an existing show, you have a couple of options. Either add the additional fixtures manually into key cues, or add additional addresses to the existing fixtures - you can then start to have pairs of fixtures doing the same thing. In some lighting designs this works really well. This is a great place to start. If you do at least know what fixtures the venue has, pop them into a visualiser, and then replace the existing fixtures in the show file with the venue's fixtures. Address them to match the visualiser, and see how your programming looks. On 3rd March, I'll be running a session dedicated to using the console with limited programming time. 2. Hello, No news on this unfortunately. The ZerOS Remote watch app currently remains incompatible with watchOS 7, due to the changes Apple introduced in watchOS 7. If you have any questions let me know. Edward
  3. No problem at all. Edward
  4. Couldn’t agree more. Fundamentally it is down to your particular system, and if there are benefits to powering the console after the devices you’re controlling then that makes sense. The only “rule” we would advise is to ensure the console is earthed prior to connecting other devices to it. If you get into more complex network systems, you can easily get into the situations where you may have multiple controllers, and so of course the order the system is powered will be down to the system design. If you are using DMX relays to power the fixtures in the rig, such as our RigSwitch cabinets, then these allow you to remotely power the rig on and off from the console. Edward
  5. Hello, Thanks for you email, I will reply shortly. If you have any questions let me know. Edward
  6. Hi Kevin, This list is no longer required. Any touchscreens which are plug and play with Windows 10, will be compatible with ZerOS. More information below... https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/desktops-windows/external-display/external-touchscreen Hope this helps, Edward
  7. Hi Rob, As best practice, it is usually best to power the FLX console first, and then the fixtures. If you have fixtures that without the presence of DMX will go into an auto mode, having the FLX powered first will mean they will boot straight into DMX receive mode, as there will already be DMX present when they boot up. From a safety point of view, connecting the console first prior to powering the system, will ensure that the console is earthed. This doesn't require for the console to be switched on though. For more information see below... https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/quick-start Hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know. Edward
  8. Hello, Thanks very much for emailing me your show file. I will reply to your email. If you have any questions let me know. Edward
  9. Hello, Has this touchscreen worked with the console previously, or is this the first time trying it? Please plug in the touchscreen via USB, power the touchscreen, and then boot the FLX S48. Then tap Z/Shift -> System Information -> System Info. In this window is a "Input Devices..." list. Can you see whether the Acer touchscreen is listed? Feel free to email me a picture of this window. The Acer website seems to have fairly limited information... https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/model/UM.VT2EE.A01 I am struggling to see whether this states it works with Windows 10. If it needs special drivers to work and is not just plug and play with Windows 10, then unfortunately it sounds like it won't be compatible with FLX S. If you have any questions let me know. Edward
  10. No problem. Edward
  11. Hello, If you lower your colour mix intensity playback, it will release control of the fixtures. When you then next raise it, it then triggers, sending the fixtures to the values recorded in the playback. In this case, Red, Green and Blue at 0, giving black. To stop this happening, you can simply prevent this playback from releasing, which in turn means it cannot be re-triggered upon raising its fader. To do this, open the playback settings, by pressing and holding SETUP and tapping the playback's button. Then choose Raise and Lower, and then disable Release On Lower. If you ever want to manually release this playback, hold CLEAR and tap the playback's button. For more information see below... https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/cues-playbacks/playback-settings/raise-and-lower Hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know. Edward
  12. Hello, Great, glad you have managed to get your Zoom playback working. We have now retired our old support.zero88.com site, and so unfortunately many old forum links will now be broken. All the information has been migrated on to the main site, with all ZerOS articles now living within the ZerOS Manual. For information on RGB colour mixing on playbacks, see below... https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/cues-playbacks/playing-back-cues/rgb-colour-mixing-on-playbacks Hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know. Edward
  13. Hello, Ah yep you’ve got it. If you’re in Global Cue Only mode, the SmartTag button will be hidden. All the currently available Record options will be shown in the Record Options window, that can be opened on the internal touchscreen by pressing and holding RECORD. For more information on the Record Options, including the Global Tracking options, take a look at this section of the manual... https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/cues-playbacks/record-options Hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know. Edward
  14. Hello, To record just the Zoom parameter to a playback, ensure the programmer is cleared (double tap CLEAR), select the fixture, then dial just the Zoom parameter to the level you wish to record it at. Then press and hold RECORD, and ensure SmartTag is disabled, indicated with a blue stripe. There is no need to adjust any other Record Options. With SmartTag disabled, anything that is currently tagged will get recorded, which in this case is just Zoom. You can then choose a playback button to store this to. You can then configure the playback fader to control the beam parameters. Hope this helps, Edward
  15. Hi Dimitri, No problem at all! If there's anything else you need just let me know. Edward
  16. Hi Dimitri, Welcome to the Zero 88 Forum. Really glad to hear you have enjoyed a positive experience with FLX S48. For this, I would recommend taking a look at the "Fan V" offset setting. This allows you to achieve mirrored effects, such as intensity working out from the middle of a selection of lights. To configure Fan V, press and hold SETUP, and tap the Effect tab at the top of the touchscreen to open the Effect Settings. Then hold Z/SHIFT, and choose "Fan V" from the Wheel Mode options. Release Z/SHIFT, and press OK. You have now configured the shifted effect encoder function to be fan V. Now, if you select the fixtures, you can apply the effect you need. Then tap "No Offset" at the top, to allow you to create your own custom offset rather than an automatic one. Then hold Z/SHIFT, and dial the offset encoder. As you continue to dial the wheel, you will see the fixtures start to "chase" one another, in or out from the centre point. When you have achieved an offset you like, tap RECORD, and store the effect as your own custom effect palette. For more information on fan settings, see the link below... https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/controlling-fixtures/attribute-settings For more information on effect parameters, see the link below... https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/effects/effect-parameters For information on recording effects, see here... https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/effects/programming-effect-palettes To adjust the sensitivity of the encoder wheels, again hold SETUP and tap Effect to open the Effect Settings, and in the window that opens is an option to adjust the Wheel sensitivity. Many thanks for the suggestion. I will make a note of this. I hope this helps, if you have any questions please let me know. Edward
  17. Dear All, If you’re free, join us for a relaxed look into various FLX range lighting console topics, online during February and March. Follow along with your console, Phantom ZerOS, or just watch, with plenty of time to ask questions, to make sure you get the most out of the sessions with the Zero 88 training team. These sessions will cover FLX S24, FLX S48, FLX and ZerOS Server, but will also be applicable to other Zero 88 consoles running the ZerOS operating system. For a list of sessions, dates & times, and also to register, head to the training page below… https://zero88.com/training#eventdates If you have any questions, as always just let us know. Edward
  18. Hello, If you come across links to support.zero88.com, this is our old knowledgebase that has now been retired. All information has now been migrated to the main website. If you are looking for information specifically for FLX S48, this can be found in the ZerOS manual below... https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros?filter=2 For information on this, see the Desktops and Windows chapter below... https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/desktops-windows Hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know. Edward
  19. Hi Steve, Really glad to hear you have just purchased a FLX S48. There is no list of fixtures detailing their channel maps, however I would recommend using the Fixture Editor software for PC to help you out. If you haven't downloaded it already, the Fixture Editor is contained in the Fixture Tools package which can be downloaded from the link below... https://zero88.com/library#download Once installed, run the Fixture Editor, and then open the file that can be downloaded from the link below... https://zero88.com/fixtures/legacy-library/Legacy library (gft41.0)/UNBRANDED/_ALL UNBRANDED.ift This file includes all of our existing Unbranded fixtures. If you work through the properties of each fixture, you may find one with the channel map you need. Hope this helps, Edward
  20. Hi Mac, Thanks for the update. If there was any grime in the faders causing issues, it sounds like this may have cleared. No problem at all. Edward
  21. Hello, If you are able to email me a copy of the show file that is causing issues, along with the cue numbers that don't seem to be working correctly, I will take a look. If you have any questions let me know. Edward
  22. Hello, What issues did you experience with ZerOS 7.9.9? ZerOS 7.9.9 contains some small enhancements and an updated fixture library. If you tap Automatically Create Effect palettes in the Effect window, how many auto effects are created? You should see 45 auto effect palettes. In ZerOS 7.9.8, there was an issue with some fixtures not storing intensity effects correctly into cues. This is fixed in ZerOS 7.9.9. If you have any questions let me know. Edward
  23. Hi Mac, Really glad to hear your FLX is going to see some action again. Have you booted the console into test mode? If not please see the link below for more information... https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/trouble-shooting/test-mode Do your faders exhibit the same behaviour in test mode? If they do, I’d recommend using a can of air duster, and spraying this into the faders causing problems, and work them up and down. This will clear any dirt and grime that may be causing them to register incorrectly. Hope this helps, Edward
  24. Hi Jake, Welcome to the Zero 88 forum. As @kgallen says, sounds like to achieve what you're after, you will need to be in Partial programming mode. This means you can control what does and what doesn't get recorded into submasters. More information on page 59 of the PDF manual here... https://zero88.com/storage/downloads/24230203-252a-4a5a-b578-43c498bd6721/Frog-Range-Manual.pdf If you have any questions let us know. Edward
  25. Hi Tim, The / shortcut allows you to define playback/cue numbers in record, update and delete commands. For example, RECORD 1/2 ENTER would record cue 2 on playback 1. The > symbol has always been the shortcut for Thru in ZerOS, and as a symbol makes logical sense. > is also the symbol that has always been available to use in the Copy window to achieve Thru. We may add another key option for Thru in future. Hope this helps, Edward
