possible shortcut key gadget on FLX S24/S48 :)
Edward Z88 replied to Ed75's topic in FLX S24 & FLX S48
Hi Ed, Thanks for sharing this! I have looked into the Stream Deck but haven't had a play with one myself. Sounds like a great idea. Feel free to post some pictures of your set up here if you'd like to. Edward -
Hi Alex, Thank you for the information. Please select the fixture, and then tap the COLOUR key. Then tap "Wheels" at the bottom of the external monitor, to view the Wheels desktop. What do the onscreen wheels display at the top of the window? If you drag the onscreen wheels, do the values change correctly? Are your encoder wheels working correctly with other fixtures? That is correct. If you use a standard monitor with a mouse, or a single-touch touchscreen, you will not be able to fan colours across the colour picker. Colour picker fanning is done by using 2 points of contact within the colour picker, and so a multitouch screen is required. Alternatively, you could use a tablet running the ZerOS Monitor app, as this will also allow you to use multitouch on the colour picker. If you have any questions, please let me know. Edward

Hi Alex, The Orb section of the forum is still available, so I have moved this topic... https://zero88.com/forum/forum/136-orb-orb-xf/ Please see the link below, for information on controlling multicell fixtures... https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/controlling-fixtures/multicell-fixtures Would you be able to talk me through the steps you are taking? Once you have selected a fixture, for example "10 Enter", the encoder wheels can be used to control all cells together. If you move the "Red" encoder wheel, what happens? To select an individual cell, you can then type "10 . 2 Enter" for example. If you are using the Colour Picker on an external touchscreen that does not support multitouch, you will not be able to fan colours across your fixtures. Edward

Hi Ed, When you record a parameter onto a playback, and enable Fader Controls, the fader will crossfade the parameter from its current value, to the recorded value. If Pan/Tilt are currently at default, the fader will therefore fade you from 50% to the recorded value. You could therefore update the default for the fixture's Pan and Tilt to 0%. That way your playback faders would have control from 0% to 50%, with the fixtures in their original default position when the fader is at 50% travel. Information on editing fixture default values here... https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/controlling-fixtures/defaults Tip - record your fixture's Pan and Tilt at 0% in a position palette. Then apply your new position palette, and then update the fixture's defaults. That way, the fixture's default value will reference the position palette. This allows you to easily update the palette, to change the fixture's defaults. Hope this helps, Edward

I think @Davidmk has hit the nail on the head here - it sounds to me like there is zoom information recorded in the intensity playback. Therefore when you raise the intensity playback, the zoom will always go to the value that is stored in the cue, replacing the zoom value that had been controlled by your Zoom playback. When you want to start getting specific about what gets recorded where, I'd recommend disabling SmartTag in the Record Options. Therefore bring up the intensity of your fixture. Then press and hold RECORD, and from the Record Options window ensure that the SmartTag button is disabled, indicated with a blue stripe on the button. You can then tap the button below the playback fader you wish to use for the fixture's intensity. Then double tap CLEAR select the fixture, and then adjust only the Zoom parameter to the level you need it. Then tap RECORD, and tap the button below the fader you wish to control Zoom. Then go into the settings of this playback, and enable Fader Controls Beam. This will give you 2 independent playbacks - one for the fixture's intensity, and the other for Zoom. Hope this helps, Edward

Hi Philip, Thank you for following my instructions. When you say it didn't start, how long did you leave the console with its LEDs chasing? Were any USB or network devices connected? If possible, please email us a picture of your console's System Information window to support@zero88.com, to allow us to investigate further. To access this window, please tap the Z/Shift key, and choose System Information from the touchscreen. Edward

Hi Terry, Thanks for the information. Really sorry to hear this. Would you also be able to confirm the software version currently running on the console? You can find this by tapping the Z/Shift button, and choosing System Information from the internal touchscreen. The latest software for FLX S consoles is ZerOS 7.10. Edward

Hi @terryb Thank you for the information. Sorry to hear one of your console's USB ports is not working. I would only recommend using powered USB hubs with FLX S48 consoles. Would you be able to send me a link to the USB hub you are using? When the console freezes, does the internal touchscreen freeze too, or is it just the front panel controls and DMX outputs? Some touchscreen monitors have a USB hub built-in - does yours have this functionality? Please drop us an email to support@zero88.com including your console's full serial number, and we will be able to get back to you. Feel free to email us a picture of the serial number sticker if that is easier. If you have any questions, please let us know. Edward

Hi Philip, No problem at all. Sorry to hear that. Sorry to hear you are still having difficulty booting your console. I would recommend trying the following process: Boot the console with the ZerOS-formatted USB drive - the console should boot up. Unplug USB drive. Plug USB drive into a Windows PC, and in File Explorer right click on the drive, choose Format... then click Start Copy the ZerOS 7.10.exe file onto the USB drive. Do not run the ZerOS OS Creator on PC. Plug the USB drive into the console, and tap SETUP -> Load, and choose ZerOS 7.10 to load in Perform the software update. Once complete, switch off the console, and unplug the USB drive Power the console - does it boot normally? It should take around 30 seconds to boot. If you are able to try this, please let me know how you get on. Edward

Oppsk 50 Channel Wall Wash - LED Group Control
Edward Z88 replied to LouAldons's topic in FLX S24 & FLX S48
Hi @LouAldons Welcome to the Zero 88 Forum. Would you be able to confirm which software version you are running on your FLX S console? If you are running the current latest software, please see the information below on controlling multicell fixtures… https://zero88.com/manuals/zeros/controlling-fixtures/multicell-fixtures If this doesn’t help you, please link to your fixture’s manual, and we’ll be able to take a look. If you have any questions let us know. Edward -
Hi @Tassal Welcome to the Zero 88 Forum. Glad to hear your console is back in use again. Sorry to hear this. Would you happen to know what software version your console was running? Feel free to send me an email if you’d like to explore this further. That’s exactly it - most people that get ZerOS Servers buy them hoping they’ll never need them, but it’s nice to know it’s there just in case! Edward

Hi David, Sorry to hear this. Once your show run has completed, I would recommend updating your console's software. If you can't get your hands on another FLX within your budget, it might be worth shopping around and seeing what price you could get for a 4-universe ZerOS Server... https://zero88.com/control/server If you have any questions, please let me know. Edward

Hi David, Sounds good. I have updated this topic title to "S48" rather than "S24" to avoid confusion. Any DMX channels that you are using, will eat into your channel limit. So patching 1 dimmer channel, with an additional address configured, would use 1 of your 96 fixtures, and 2 of your 512/1024 DMX channels. To do this, firstly save a copy of your show file to a USB drive. You'd then need to delete all the playbacks you don't want to access on your FLX S48, and move the playbacks you do want to access to playbacks 1 - 96. You could then save the show file to USB, and load it into FLX S48. You could then load the original show file back into the FLX. For clarity, FLX S consoles do not feature a MIDI input. UDKs will not be loaded, and palettes greater than number 96 for each attribute will not be loaded. Total DMX addresses and fixture count are the main thing to bear in mind. Yes worth clarifying - FLX S consoles do not support the Tracking Backup protocol that is available on FLX and other ZerOS consoles. So a FLX S could not automatically take over control of the show, should your FLX go offline. Edward

Hi @diacong I would do this using two cues, that run simultaneously. I would have one cue, that just fades the garden lighting. You could then have this cue with one fade time set. You may wish this cue to run automatically after the previous cue. For example if the previous cue brings the lights up, this cue can then start running automatically, slowly fading out the garden throughout the duration of the scene. I would then have another cue that controls the room lighting. This cue could then have a different fade time, however be triggered with the previous cue. Hope this helps, Edward

Hi Tony, Yep, the Prolight LEDJ Pixel Storm 12 Tri Batten can be operated in a 36 channel mode. This gives you 12 cells each with RGB control. Edward
-
Hi Tony, There are many battens available from different manufacturers that can be operated in a "Multicell" mode, allowing individual control of the pixels/cells. Some other forum members may be able to suggest battens. If you find a batten that you're considering, feel free to link to its manual, and I'll take a look to see whether it can be operated in a multicell mode. Edward

Hi @Perla Welcome to the Zero 88 Forum. Glad to hear you have a FLX S24. Would you be able to explain why you had to reset everything? Has anything changed between the system working yesterday, and today? Have any new lights been added? Have any changes been made on the console? Has any cabling been changed? To be able to help further, would you be able to explain your lighting system? For example, where does the DMX cable from the console go? What fixtures are you controlling? If you have any questions, please let us know. Edward
-
Hi Tony, Thank you for linking to the fixture's manual. The fixture file for the LEDJ Q Batten can be downloaded here... LEDJ Q Batten.ift This fixture does not offer the ability to control the individual LEDs of this fixture separately. If you have any questions, please let us know. Edward

Possible hardware issue, Fader 5 affecting fader 19
Edward Z88 replied to keredyelesob's topic in FLX
Hi @keredyelesob There is no dedicated Test Mode for the ZerOS Wing. Instead, ZerOS Wing updates will be displayed in Z -> System Information -> Event Monitor. The faders/buttons on the wing will be numbered 25 - 48. Hope this helps, Edward -
Hi @martin BA Welcome to the Zero 88 Forum. Sorry to hear you have experienced the same issue. To confirm, are you finding that your console only boots with a USB drive connected? Have you also tried this... If you have any questions, please let me know. Edward

Hi Ed75, I haven't used one of these fixtures myself, but from memory they have a setting in the fixture's menu to enable or disable the ability to control the lamp via DMX. This option therefore has an affect on the personality used to control the fixture, hence there is a lamp on and lamp off variant for both modes. Glad to hear it, thanks for letting us know. Edward
