  1. Hi Tom,

Thierry's comment will work on ZerOS 7.9.2. The latest version of software is ZerOS 7.9.4.

You should find you can also use the Load method. With your chase released (fader at 0% so it isn't running), tap LOAD type the cue number followed by the Chase's button, and the cue of the chase will be brought in to the programmer. You can then make your changes, and tap UPDATE ENTER, to update the cue of the chase.

    Hope that helps,

    Edward

  2. Hi Jim,

It sounds like there is a patching issue if the Channel faders controlling the dimmers are affecting the movers, so check the DMX addresses.

Feel free to email me your show file with the list of problems you are experiencing, and I’ll take a look to find the cause of the issues.

  3. Hi Peter,

It sounds like your FLX S48 is running an early software version. You can check the software version by tapping Z / Shift, and then System Information. It sounds like it’s running software ZerOS 7.9.2.60. The latest software is ZerOS 7.9.4, available to download from our website here...

    http://zero88.com/forum/files/file/17-zeros-794/

In ZerOS 7.9.2.60, the External Monitor is Enabled by default, meaning the Outputs, Cues and Faders windows are displayed on the External monitor rather than the internal touchscreen. Therefore I would recommend installing the new software, that changes this, along with bringing new features and many enhancements. However you can manually access these windows in the internal touchscreen, by tapping SETUP -> System Settings -> External Monitor -> Disabled.

By default FLX S consoles will not be patched, unless your dimmer has something called RDM, such as our Betapack 3 or Chilli dimmers. Therefore you’ll need to patch your dimmers into the console, to assign each dimmer channel to a fader. Do this by tapping SETUP -> Add Fixture’s -> Next -> Tap Channel buttons 1 onwards for each dimmer channel, and tap Finish. You can then tap SETUP, and use the channel faders to control your dimmer.

Hope that helps, any queries let me know.

  4. Hi Lex,

When it comes to editing Playbacks/Cues, you first need to Playback/ Go into your cue you wish to edit, so that it is live on stage. Now using the channel faders, and fixture controls make edits to the lighting state. To lower channel levels, you'll need to level match the channel fader to the intensity level the fixture is at from the cue. The value will change from the cue colour to red in the output window, and you'll then have control of the fixture on the channel fader. When you're happy tap UPDATE, and tap the Flashing Playback button that your cue is coming from.

To remove fixtures from a Playback, again Playback your cue, and ensure that the intensity of fixtures you wish to remove is in the programmer. Programmer values are indicated by a red percentage value under the fixture channel number. When only fixtures you want to remove are in the programmer, press and hold UPDATE, and choose "Remove" from the Update Options pop-up, so that it has a Red Stripe next to it. If the SmartTag option also has a Red Stripe next to it, tap this so it goes blue. Then tap the flashing Playback button that your cue is coming from, and these tagged fixtures will be removed.

As you stated, editing cues on any of the MFFs or on the Master Playback will behave in exactly the same way.

Hope that helps, any queries let me know.

  5. Hi Eric,

If you are receiving that message that means you are running the ZerOS 7.9.4 OS USB Creator software. This software is used to format and create a bootable USB stick, which was the old way to perform software updates.

For Phantom ZerOS, you’ll need the dedicated Phantom ZerOS 7.9.4 software also available from the download here...

    zero88.com/forum/files/file/17-zeros-794/

This software allows you to choose which ZerOS console to emulate.

Hope that helps, any queries let me know.

  6. Hi Marco,

Glad that you found the cause of the problem. SmartTag will ignore parameters if the fixture’s intensity is 0%, which is why you can also get around SmartTag nudging the Fixture up to 1% intensity.

If you ever need more support with your FLX S just let us know. Our Europe Sales Manager Franck is German, and would be happy to help you out in German.

  7. Hi Eric,

As Solution and FLX run ZerOS, although they have different hardware, their functionality is very similar. As Kevin referred to, Solution has been around for a while, whereas FLX is only 3 years old this year. FLX has a much more powerful processor, future proofing the console for software advancements. FLX does have the ability to be upgraded to output 8 Universes of DMX, whereas Solution is limited to 4. FLX also doesn’t have a fixture limit, whereas Solution/ Solution XL are limited to 248 & 296 fixtures respectively.

6 ZerOS WINGs can be connected to FLX. There are 5 USB ports, so for 6 simultaneously you would need a powered USB hub.

    Hope that helps,

    Edward

  8. Hi Eric,

All of the consoles you listed run ZerOS, so all operate in a similar way. Don't forget you can download Phantom ZerOS, to try out these consoles on your PC...

    http://zero88.com/forum/files/file/17-zeros-794/

From your description however, it sounds like FLX would be the ideal console choice...

    http://zero88.com/products/consoles/flx/index.shtml

If you then require more hands on faders, you can add up to 6 ZerOS WINGs...

    http://zero88.com/products/consoles/wing/index.shtml

FLX S48 consoles can control a maximum of 96 fixtures. WINGs will not expand this fixture limit, purely give you more hands on faders.

If your required fixtures aren't included in our latest Fixture Library (version 35), send us an email to FixtureSupport@zero88.com, and one of the team will be able to make it for you. A list of available fixtures can be found here...

Hope that helps, any queries let me know.

  9. Hi Piero,

Thank you for letting me know. What Fixture Library has ZerOS 7.8 got with it? As it is such a long time ago that software was released, maybe Fixture Library 33 is too large for ZerOS 7.8. Fixture Library 33 is definitely compatible with ZerOS 7.8.2.39, so it’s probably worth updating.

I will check when I’m next in the office for you.

  10. Hi Marco,

Are you Recording the fixture’s intensity in with the Playback too? If you’re just trying to store the Flower without intensity, you’ll need to disabled SmartTag. You can do this by pressing and holding RECORD, and tapping SmartTag from the Record Options, so that it has a Blue stripe next to it. You should now find you can record the flower to a Playback. It would be a good idea to store the Flower effect you’re happy with to a Palette first, to allow you to palette reference.

    Hope that helps

     Edward

  11. Hi Pol,

Did Peachy's answer help at all?

Are you saying when you set the fixture's Colour and Focus into a Playback, you then don't want it to be changed by any other Playbacks? If so this will happen by default, if you don't have any Colour or Focus data recorded in any of the other Playbacks.

Feel free to attach your Show File from the FLX S, with a description of where you're seeing the issue, and I'll take a look.

I've tried The "Fader Controls..." colour option on Playbacks again but with my own EasyMove RGBW fixture profile where my intensity and colour default values are 0 it almost works. With   red green blue playbacks set to "fader controls colour" they will mix until a fader is set to full then it appears that LTP takes over and only the single colour that is at full is output.......?

The desk was manufactured in Nov and when it crashed I forwarded the log file to yourselves. Loaded 7.9.3  I did subsequently have a couple of crashes with no log file just the dreaded Z screen with an incomplete status bar mainly whilst experimenting with the android remote app. I was experimenting with different patches with a clear all between them as I'm looking to use a different patch depending on the user of the venue that day (I've had problems visiting university tech lecturers using all @ 1%, doesn't do the main incomer fuse stress levels any good having a dead short across it for half a second as we are mostly a halogen load rather than LED)

    Hi Paul,

It sounds like Tagging is the reason Fader Controls colour isn't quite achieving what you're after. When you move a Colour encoder wheel, all colour controls for the selected fixtures are Tagged, as in most instances when recording a colour, you are recording the mix of colour on stage. However if you want to be able to mix these colours on top of each other, you need to ensure only the used Colours are tagged. For example to Record Red, Green and Blue to a seperate Playback and give you RGB mixing on the faders, you need to ensure each has only its specific colour tagged (for example only Red is tagged for the Red Playback). The easiest way to do this is hold SETUP, and tap the "Colour" tab along the top of the FLX S touchscreen (this appears when you select a fixture with Colour parameters). In the Colour Settings, there is the Option for "Keep Parameters Seperate". Click "Yes", and now only the parameters you adjust with the encoders will be tagged, Allowing you to easily record only certain colour parameters to Playbacks, that can then mix when Fader controls Colour is enabled.

You can read a little more about tagging here...

Thanks for providing a little more information on the console crashes. Let me know if you experience anything similar on ZerOS 7.9.4.

Hope that helps, any queries let me know
