  1. Apologies on picking up on this so late. Ed was such a great tutor and producer of fantastic reference material I hardly visit the forum now. None the less I would also like to say a huge and genuine thanks to Ed. He even put time aside in the evenings for Skype calls to help me understand and run ZEROs. Good luck Ed in your chosen new direction and thanks again. It was folks like you who fuelled my loyal support for and in Zero 88. All the Best.... Mac
  2. Evening all, Just thought I would ask if there is anyone nearby to help out an Elton John Tribute . Using in house rig and I will pass on contact details if interested.
  3. Good morning all. I have been using the FLX for quite some time and intend to carry on doing that. I may have an opportunity to introduce a Solution XL into a venue and wondered what I can expect. Are the workflows for the Solution XL the same as those for the FLX given they are using the same software. Any good/bad points and given the desk is now a legacy product what is the lifetime expectancy for ongoing support on it please. TIA
  4. Just to clear this up. I was trying to trigger the SOLO cues via MiDi which did not work. All other cues on the MiDi work fine but just not SOLO. They trigger fine when using the desk. Thanks Ed for your time and effort on this
  5. Thanks Ed. I will read through this and have a play, much appreciated. Good luck with the production you are working on. Sounds pretty complex !!
  6. PS.... just tried the Chase 1/2 effect and adjusted the size and achieved 100%. Unfortunately on recording it is showing 50% in yellow in the Output Window.
  7. Thanks for the help Kgallen, much appreciated. I will have a play with the size on the Chase effects and see if I can get the intensity as needed. I have had a look through the effects attributes and cannot see anything right away that allows me to adjust the effect intensity. Thanks again !!
  8. Good morning all. I am trying to use 'Effects' i.e. Chases, Ballyhoo etc i.e. featuring intensity effects. I would like to then record them at various selected speeds to palettes. The problems I am having are: A. The intensity defaults to 50 as opposed to the desired 100 B. Selection of the palette results in the effect immediately being applied as opposed to me wishing to do it via an intensity MFF i.e. gradual introduction as opposed to immediate. As usual really grateful for any help please....??
  9. Hi Ed, thanks for the reply. They are replacement fixtures for some of mine that are nearing the end. Unfortunately the fixture file for them is different as they jigged the DMX channels around quite a bit. I was just looking at the quickest way to replace them with the minimum of re-programming.
  10. Afternoon all, I have a number of cue stacks built using groups. I would like to add some additional fixtures to the cues and thought if I just update the group that would then work. Unfortunately it did not. I was wondering if this is possible or not and how to go about it please if it is.....??
  11. Good morning Ed, I had a play last night and it does what it says on the tin. Thanks very much again for the help !!!
  12. Good evening Ed, what are you doing working at this time on a Saturday night my friend. I was really surprised to get a reply. I will have a look at your guidance in the morning and thanks very much !!
  13. Evening all. My programming and show execution approach for movers until now has been to record cue stacks of attributes, select each cue and then increase intensity. I am looking to be able to now select those attributes from palettes then increase intensity as needed. Unfortunately the intensity playback cancels all the other attributes (well the way I have it configured) and I have to set them all again once raised. Can anyone please suggest anyway of recording an intensity MFF which is entirely neutral and allow the attributes selected from palettes to remain...??
  14. Hi iank99, do these desks work as efficiently as the FLX with the latest ZerOS software please. I am assuming the down side may be the outputs i.e. numbers of universes they are capable of controlling. Would you recommend any of them above the others to home in on please. As a back up and spare I would make do with 2U output....???
  15. And far more eloquently put as opposed to my drivel 😁
  16. Thanks Ed, I guessed this would be a bit of a headscratcher as you say. I certainly will pursue the fault finding as you suggest with a video. I did power cycle but made no difference unfortunately.
  17. Thanks Ed, very reassuring and I will persevere with getting one.
  18. Thanks Kgallen, much appreciated. I will pursue the link but there does seem to be a lack of options to buy them unfortunately. Zero88 do not indeed have any other product in that class and I am wondering if the various company changes over recent times have influenced the availability.
  19. Evening all, I have been looking for a few months for another FLX desk as a back up to my existing desk. There are a few advertisements from various companies however digging down they are consistently out of stock. Just wondering what the direction of travel is for them. Anyone have any clues please....??
  20. Hi Tim, I hope this may be some help and thanks to Google translation. Question 1 - I have my moving heads programmed in 2 ways. I have a set of Playbacks on MFF's covering each attribute of the mover i.e. 1 - Intensity & Focus, 2 - Colours, 3 - Gobos, 4- Prisms. I have recorded them each into a cue stack on the Playback so can set each up before bringing the intensity up. You can play with the effects and set speeds, the prisms rotate speeds etc and just record onto a cue. For your position changes to be less abrupt you then go into the cue stack and change the posn speed. The default is 3s which I find covers most requirements but you can of course lengthen or shorten that period. I also have them set up in Palettes, covering all the attributes again. But going between positions using the palettes it will be a very quick change and uncontrolled. Question 2 - Again I would say this is down to the Posn timing set in the cue you are triggering. Hope this helps. Rgds Mac
  21. Hi SimonH, I am pretty sure they will only work in FAT32 format as opposed to NTFS. Have a go in that format if your stick is currently NTFS. Unsure on size but as Jon mentions it should read it but just take longer to index the larger sticks.
  22. Just offloading my kit and took the opportunity to test control via Artnet and DMX. I just set up minimal fixtures on the addresses in the show file. Both setups produce solo. Really weird as it does not work when I have all rigged and using 2 universes???
  23. Thanks Ed, a copy of the show file is attached. All the solo looks I use are on MFF buttons on Pages 1 & 2. The Playbacks are named with the caveat 'SOLO' When applying SOLO, no fixture blacks out on any of them. The look appears but no black out on the remainder. This is indeed set to 'Disabled' Thanks again for your help, much appreciated !! UnReal Festival 2023 - V0-12 - LIVE DAY 2.zos
  24. Hi, I sought help with this issue a few months back and just had another festival last weekend and the same thing is occurring. Ed very kindly had a look through the show file and did not see any issues. It also works just fine on Capture. I had this working without any issue for years on many cues but for some reason there is an issue now. The only thing that has changed since using it successfully on my whole live rig is I am now controlling it via Artnet as opposed to the two DMX desk outputs. I checked this via the DMX outputs before the last event and everything was fine. The exact result is the fixtures I trigger do what I have asked but the remainder do not black out. Any help most welcome please....??
