  1. To anybody else in this position - the easiest way to deal with it is to patch three fader channels to the appropriate DMX values for RGB, then mix like that. However, you lose three faders per lantern and can't use fixture features like palletes or FROG. Awaiting solution from the software geniuses of Zero 88.
  2. Yes, it is possible to invert on a per-fixture basis since I had to find out how today. I can't remember the exact sequence (sorry) but it's in Super-User in a fairly obvious place. Like sam.henderson said, make sure you've got the latest software.
  3. I'm trying to get some new LED parcans working in a chase sequence on a FatFrog and am running into some difficulties. The lights are designed with each colour (RGB) being assigned to a DMX channel, with 0 being no output in that colour and 255 being full. I have built a fixture type and loaded it into the desk with no problems, spin wheels work fine. When chase is stored into memory, colours fade or snap properly (Depending on settings). The issue is that when the chase is 'parked' on a submaster (i.e. faded out) since the colour settings are all seperate and not brightness channels, it simply parks the light with the colour channels on their step 1 output. Since step 1 involves set colours, I end up with lights on in the wrong place. Is there any way to tell the FatFrog to treat all three 'Colour' channels as brightness (And thuly fade properly on submasters), or is it just easier to patch them to non-fixture channels and run like that? Note for any techs around, could functionality like this be considered for an OS revision? I've seen a few newer lights with no common brightness, since all three colours (RGB or CYM) are effectively their own bulb.
  4. Hi there, I've got a Fat Frog on hire for a production (Extremely nice desk by the way) and have downloaded the Fixture Type Editor to create some profiles for some obscure scanners we have. My only question is this: What is the "Fixed" checkbox under the "Details" tab of a parameter actually for? See attachment if you're not sure what I'm blathering on about.
  5. For me, it has to be the show I'm dealing with at the moment for my school. We have run a few in the past by borrowing from a local AmDram group and botching things together with gaffer tape and strange adaptors. For this show, however, I decided to make the school realise how much effort goes into lighting something. Long story short, I managed to condemn all the school's own lighting equipment for relatively minor things such as no earth connections on the luminares. I wish I was joking here, but from the asset register of 54 items we had at the beginning (Once I'd bothered to make one) only 10 lights survived the cull. I've just got back from a rig involving putting up nearly a mile of hired cable, 40 hired lights, and a FatFrog for a school production of a script so bad it makes me cry. They'll learn eventually.
