  1. Hi Zhack If you download the Fixture Library and Unzip the file onto a Floppy Disk, the next step is to boot the desk and go into Super User. To do this, hold down +, - and ENTER. Then navigate to Desk Setup, Assign Fixtures. Select the fixture you wish to assign, and press the down arrow, followed by the minus button. The screen will now say 'Select Fixture From Floppy Disk'. Press Enter, and the library will be loaded from the floppy disk. Use the + and - keys to select your manufacturer and then the down arrow to move to the fixture field. Navigate again using + and - and then press Enter to assign that fixture. I hope this helps. Peter
  2. Ensure that the submaster which contains the podium generics does not have any of the position attributes for the technobeams tagged. To do this you will need to be in partial mode. Pull the podium submaster to full, then select the moving heads which are running the effect. Press F1 and the first fixture button to view the Fixture Outputs screen. Hold down WHEELGROUP and you can view the tag status of all the moving lights in that cue. To detag a parameter, hold down wheelgroup and nudge the parameter wheel. To detag a whole attribute, hold down wheelgroup and that attribute (colour/beamshape/position). When you've set the tag status', re-record the submaster and all should be fine. Hi Daniel Try the following: -Program your first memory as required (the static position) -Program your second memory (the movement effect) as follows: *Convert the memory to a chase *Program Step 1 of the chase as the memory you require but with an effect size of 0 *Program Step 2 of the chase as the memory you require with the correct effect size *Set the Position attribute to Fade in the Chase Settings *Set the chase to "Shots" of 1. This should give you a much nicer crossfade, although it is not perfect. Unfortunately the snap is due to the resyncronising of the effect which happens when you trigger it. I hope this helps.   6. The power supply supplied with the Jester and Frogs is the same unit. Older Frogs were supplied with a different power supply, however both are compatible throughout the range. The same power supply is also supplied with the Juggler. The Frog 2 power supply is also compatible with the all the other desks, although you must use a Frog 2 Power Supply for a Frog 2 due to the high power requirements of that desk. Hope this helps.
  7. Hi Sam The request to show the last recorded cue is something which we've had a couple of times, although I don't have the database to hand to give you an FR number. As far as printing a list of cues, the best option at the moment would be to use Phantom Frog2 on your pc to display each list of cues, then press PrintScrn and paste the image into an image editor. You can then print these screen dumps off, providing a list of all the cues. At present we don't have a more printer-friendly version. Peter
  8. Stomping: one stack can remove control of parameters or whole fixtures from another stack. If Stack 1 includes channels 1 to 10 at full, and Stack 2 is triggered controlling Channels 2 to 5 at 50%, with mix mode set to LTP Stack 2 will gain control of Channels 2 to 5. If you then release Stack 2, Stack 1 will continue outputting minus Channels 2 to 5. If Stack 1 and Stack 2 have the same parameters programmed, activating Stack 2 will release Stack 1. Tracking relates to the ability to program only the changes required by a cue. Q1 - Channels 1 to 10 at full Q2 - Channels 1 to 5 to 50%. Traditionally this would also have included channels 6-10 at full. Q3 - Channel 1 at 0. Traditionally this would have also included channels 2-5 at 50% and channels 6-10 at full. Q4 - 'Snapshot' All Channels at 0% If you decide to alter the level of channel 10 in Q1, using tracking this change will then filter though Q2 and Q3. Because in Q4 all channels are programmed at 0% this stops the data from tracking through that point. Hope this helps. Peter
  9. Hi Sam How have you programmed your stacks? It sounds as if you may be having problems related to tracking and stomping. A stack which is activated will 'stomp' on another cue stack which is active - meaning that when you activate stack two, the data from stack one will stop outputting and stack two will gain control of the channels programmed into it. If you have full programmed stacks, you will need to trigger a specific cue on stack one when you release stack two.
  10. You could always program the intermittant scroller state into the first cue (say, at frame 3 if they were going between frame 1 and frame 5) over 3 seconds, then program fram 5 in the second cue. That would do what you want
  11. Absolutely. Set a fade time of 6 seconds in the first cue. Trigger that cue, then trigger the next cue and both fades will be happening simultaneously. You may have problems if you want the second cue to be automatic, however, as the wait time applies once the cue has completed. Hope this helps
  12. Are you using Common Fixture Type Manager? The program you should be using is Fixture Type Editor... i've just tried it on my version and the method is as follows: -File, Import Fixture Type -Select library, then select required fixtures -Fixtures are loaded into the editor -Press File, Export Sirius UFT -Save file
  13. If the book of words says they self address, it sounds like a control issue - presumably they address sequentially from the start address. If you've patched the group (1 thru N @ 2/1) then this should be all that is required from the desk end. Try talking to AC Lighting support - they'll be able to check through the fixture specific things which may be going wrong. I've never used the fixtures myself so can't identify anything beyond the obvious.
  14. Try File, Import, then select the gft file. The fixture tools program can only load (user created) ift files. These use a slightly different format to the global gft file which we distribute.
  15. The easiest way is to assign a unique fixture number to each fixture, which is done in Edit Fixtures, then simply use the keypad to enter that fixture number.
  16. Quickest way at the moment is to turn on Highlight, then select the first fixture and use the -> (next) arrow to bash through each fixture one at a time. P
  17. Unfortunately not, you'll have to sit there with a stopwatch if you want to get the timings accurate. On a Frog2 you can set triggers to run after HH:MM:SS of a CD track, being played by the on-board CD player.
  18. Tom, firstly i'll do the salesy bit... everything you're asking would be a lot lot lot easier on a Frog 2, whch is designed to work and be familiar to users of Pearl and GrandMA. Each memory or submaster on the Frog range (excluding the Frog2, which uses different operating software and a different syntax) can only be defnied as either a Scene or a Chase. As such, if you want to run a chase, you need to program everything about that chase into the particular memory. To run simultaneous chases the only option is to use submasters - program a colour chase and transfer it to one submaster, then program a position chase and transfer it to another. Having said that, you could program a chase which includes a position effect (using the second and third Position wheelgroups) and the colour changes. As far as offsets are concerned, you'll have to program the chase taking into account to offset (that is to say, program step one with half of the fixtures in red, half in green, then step two alternating). Again, this would be much easier on the Frog2 where you can offset any effect with just a simple wheel movement.
  19. Hi Tom The effects generator on the Frog range (excluding Frog2) only extends as far as the Position of a fixture. Your only option for chaisng between two distinct colours would be to create a chase which affects the colour of a fixture. Note that you'll want to set the Colour drive to Snap in this situation. If you need to run this on a submaster, you'll need to first create it in a memory stack and then transfer it onwards to a submaster. I hope this helps Peter
  20. Prior to clicking Run the application will show blank windows. Double check that you're clicking run - if this has been successful the button will change its text to "Stop". Then try activating the windows and see if it works that way around.
  21. If you select the fixtures and use the Effect Window to build your new effect, you will find that you can individually modify each parameter. At present the Effects wheelgroup controls all outputting effects. HTH
  22. The SX master (as with all 'master' faders) applies a scale factor to the programmed brightness level. If you have a scene with channel1 at 50% and channel 2 at full, but the SX master at 50%, the output levels will be 25% and 50% respectively. Hope this helps

  25. Or... how about unlimited moving lights, "C" and "D" DMX output, another monitor output, little light, 3 USBs, CD writer, SMPTE, MIDI, Ethernet, and integrated touchscreen, and we call it Frog 2?
