  1. The behaviour you are describing of the preset faders is correct. Because the LeapFrogs work with a program window, you must clear the program window to release control of channels to the submasters or memories. You can alter this behaviour in Desk Setup/Behaviour/Preset Mix Mode... change this to HTP and you will get the behaviour you expect from Frog 1. The multiple patches are done in Edit Fixtures - select the fixtures you wish to repatch, then click "Patch", enter the new (second) dmx address and press "Add Patch". Come out of this window, then "OK" Edit Fixtures.
  2. It sounds like you both have similar problems, which are occuring when PhantomFrogX tries to load the show data, a couple of seconds after you run it. We're hoping to release a new version this week which has some improvements in this area, so it would be good if you can try that when it's released. Watch this space... [You are both running 1.10 at the moment aren't you? We forgot to announce it in this forum, although it was announced in the main Leapfrog48/96 Software Releases forum.]
  3. It all sounds very unusual this, every PC we've installed it on here, Win2K, WinXP or WinVista, it just works! Pipo - where did you get that data from? What OS are you using? Having it fail on 3 different PCs sounds very odd. Have you tried downloading it again from the website incase it got corrupted? Are you logged in with Administrator privileges when installing it? On Windows Vista you may need to do 'Run As Admin' when installing it. ryandell - what do you mean "the screen goes weird"? There isn't a background bitmap for the Leapfrog at the moment, you just get black, with the buttons, LCDs, faders & wheels shown on it. Might be worth checking that your DirectX graphics drivers are up to date. Go to Start->Run, and type dxdiag to get the DirectX diagnostics screen which will show you the versions. The latest at the moment is 9.0c I think - go to Windows Update if DirectX isn't installed or is an older version. Also if you have any weird User Interface skins installed on your PC, try removing them, as these might be causing a conflict with Phantom Frog X. Also check you are using a decent screen resolution, at least 1024x768 will probably required to be able to see all the windows, with 32 bit colour depth. Let us know if that helps, if not, a bit more detail on your system might help us get to the bottom of this. Also making sure your PC is up to date with all the Windows Updates is probably a good thing so we're not worrying about conflicts that may have already been fixed.
  4. Once you're in Partial mode, Press and hold the fixture button for a couple of seconds (until the yellow LED goes solid) to untag the whole fixture. You can do mulitple fixtures by pressing and holding the first and last, in much the same way as multi selection.
  5. This feature has been added to the new Leap Frog 48 & 96 desks - hold down TIME and press a palette, and the desk will crossfade into the palette in the internal time (defined on Special Page 1)
  6. Hi Orlando The feature you suggest has been asked for a few times, however in order to implement this would require a fairly major rewrite of the submaster data structure internally, not something likely to happen at this stage in the Frog software. However, the new Leap Frog 48 and Leap Frog 96 give you this ability straight out of the box. Note that we have changed the chase recording method, inline with the Jester, so you now must attempt to overwrite step 2 over step 1 and then choose "turn into chase". I hope this helps Peter
  7. Hi Mel What mode are you running the desk in (Basic-Full or Basic-Partial?) Can you send me a show file (pkirkup@coopercontrols.co.uk) and i'll take a look at it. Also, is your desk running version 1.10 or 1.0? There have been a number of bug fixes between 1.0 and 1.10, so it might be worth finding out if you can upgrade the desk (as it's a hired desk, please check with the supplier first). Thanks for the feedback Peter
  8. This was posted on the Blue Room.
  9. Leap Frog 48 & 96 Software Version 1.10 Released Continuing the development of the Leap Frog 48 & 96, Zero 88 have now released an interim software version 1.10, which features Blind Mode functionality as well as bug fixes and speed improvements. Desk software, Offline software (Phantom Leap Frog), together with full documentation is now available from the Downloads section of the website, here.
  10. Hi You can only have one HTP dimmer channel in any fixture. You can however have multiple Colour, Beamshape or Position parameters. So, you could set your fixture up like this: Dimmer: DMX 1 (Brightness) Dimmr2: DMX 2 (Beamshape) Dimmr3: DMX 3 (Beamshape) Dimmr4: DMX 4 (Beamshape) Dimmr5: DMX 5 (Beamshape) Dimmr6: DMX 6 (Beamshape) The problem you will have using this fixture is that Dimmers 2 to 6 will follow the LTP Fade Time and the Beamshape action (Fade/Snap). These parameters will also be treated LTP so raising a submaster with them programmed at 0 will force the dimmers to 0. A better way to do this (assuming you're not using the fixtures for moving heads, etc), is to patch a single "Dimmer" to each of the first 6 fixtures. There are profiles in the fixture library already for <Conventional> Dimmer. Patch these to fixtures 1 to 6 and these will work as expected. Bear in mind that if you press HOME these channels will snap to full. Hope this helps. Peter
  11. In Version 10.8 software, when the desk is set to Partial mode, channels have to be "tagged" for programming. To check the tag-status of a channel, hold down the Wheel Group button - if a channel is tagged, it will display the outputting level in the Output Window, if the channel isn't tagged, it will display ---. When a submaster is activated, it tags all the channels that were tagged at the time of programming (and removes any tags that weren't there). Obviously in a busking scenario this means that if you are activating lots of submasters, only the last one you have activated will control the tags. If you wish to re-record the submaster, the easiest way is to ensure that all the channels you require are tagged (by nudging their preset fader you set them to tagged, unless Wheel Group is held down in which case the tag will be removed when the fader is moved). Alternatively you could use Edit Mode - select the submaster, press Edit, make the changes (to move a preset fader, you need to hold down the flash button below it then move the fader) and press Edit again to come out of Edit mode. Hope this helps.
  12. Yes, the DMX Input will be recieved as the full universe and any channels that are not patched on the Jester will be output as they were recieved. When in Program Mode, any incomming DMX is stored onto the Memory or Submaster at the time of programming. When these Memories or Submasters (indicated with a +) are output with no DMX-input present, the incomming DMX values at the time of programming are output. When an incomming DMX feed is present, it overrides the output from Memories or Subs. Hope this helps.
  13. Have you performed the two firmware updates in the Desk Information screen in Setup? Hold down SHIFT+CLEAR in this screen to run an update - if the update is required, the version number will appear in RED text.
  14. Hi Mel The Lamp+ scroller profiles provide a multi-part fixture for the scroller, allowing you to patch the Dimmer and Scroller attributes seperately. This is the best way to get scrollers to move on dark. First you need to patch the Lamp+1 Chan Scroller profiles. When you patch these, you will have to enter two DMX addresses (the LAMP/SCROLL button will appear in the MFKs). Then when you're programming you'll use the Fixture section of the desk and the Colour attribute will give you the scroll control (the Dimmer will appear under Position, in common with moving heads). Once your shows programmed, turn on Move On Dark (in Setup/Desk Setup/Memory Defaults/Move On Dark) and your scrollers will automatically preset themselves Note that Move On Dark only works in Basic-Partial mode. Hope this helps. Peter
  15. Hi Mel You should see the front panel like the attached image - is yours displaying like that? As a quick tip, first thing to do is press SETUP... the MFK LCDs on the right hand side will then take you through setup
  16. Hi Pollywog Your best bet would be to record a submaster with the solo data (blinders @ full) and the stage data (front pars) on it, then solo the submaster.... this would prevent the channels from dipping. Alternatively just use "Flash" mode

  18. Hi John Can you email it to me (pkirkup@zero88.com) and i'll get it added to our main library in the next full release.
  19. The Chillis numbering works like this... The first 1/2 digits indicate the number of channels (4, 12, 24) The next two digits indicate the amperage per channel (10 or 16) and then either i or HF. i is a standard leading-edge thyristor dimmer for resistive or inductive loads, HF is a high frequency ballast controller version capable of dimming DSI or 0V to +10V flourescent lamps (providing compatible electronic ballasts are used), as well as acting as a switch pack. HF is available in both the 4 and 12 channel cabinets. In addition to these, the "Pro" dimmers feature Neutral disconnect breakers instead of standard breakers. These are most applicable in the European market where certain countries safety standards require them. Some models can also be ordered +RCD which feature a master RCD at the top of the cabinet for overall protection of the circuits on the pack. I hope this clears things up. Peter
  20. Shortcuts means that if the shortest route is taken, sometimes this is 'around' the wheel rather than in sequence.
  21. Insert memories (27.1) and chase steps (27, Step 1) are different. Insert memories are used for putting a cue between 27 and 28 that will respond to a trigger (normally the GO button). Chases are a series of Step memories run in sequence. In version 10.8 software, the chase steps won't run unless the Playback X (or Submaster fader) are above 0.
  22. Do you have shortcuts set to ON on the fixture (see the user manual for details) as this would explain the behaviour.
  23. On the Frog 2 and new Leap Frog 48/96s this is possible
  24. Hi Zorp The Wheel Group button changed function between software version 9 and 10. The Colour/Beam/Position buttons now cycle through the wheel groups, and the Wheel Group button has become a 'shift' button used for tagging in partial mode. If the Wheel Group button is still 'working' on your other desks then they are probably running older software. Hope this helps Peter
  25. At the moment yes, we have only used the 3M Microtouch range with the desk. After the move from Windows to Linux we have added more drivers but these remain untested at this stage. For the latest information, see THIS TOPIC.
