Hi iljan Sorry to hear you're having problems. Can you confirm that the two Slave Processors are up to date? To check this, go into Setup/Files/Desk Information and check for any values displaying in red. If any values are displayed in red, hold down SHIFT and press CLEAR to enter the update menu. Select the out of date item and the desk will send the new update across to the Slave processors. Let us know how you get on and if that doesn't solve it, we'll try and work out whats going on

Hi Si 1)At the moment, Solo only applies to the area of the desk you're solo'ing (if you solo the preset channels, they only solo channels controlled by presets, etc). This is something we're looking to change at some point. 2)Cue Jumps are due to be implemented in the next software version. 3)If you select the "no" field of the Memories window and press ENTER to open the field for editing, you can then type in a cue number (either using the MFKs or an external keyboard) and press ENTER again to select it as the "Next" memory. If you press GO instead of ENTER after editing the number, that cue will be triggered. I hope this helps you... If you need anything else, let us know

Hi Si When I say Output It, I just mean play back the memory (or sub) as required. Smart Tags picks up on the outputs, not the program window. Cue Only should only really be used when inserting a new cue between two existing cues. What it does is sets the tags up in the following cue so that the changes you make in the added cue don't affect the following cue. Take this example: Cue 1 - Channels 1-6 at 50% Cue 2 - Channels 1-3 at 30%. No data for channels 4-6. If you add in a Cue 1.5 using Cue Only, which sets channel 5 @ 0%, when you play back Cue 2 it will return to 50%. If you had done the same without using Cue Only, because the channel was tracking from Cue 1, it would then track from Cue 1.5 and therefore would stay off. Hope this clears things up. Hi Si Sorry to hear you've had some problems getting to grips with the desk. First thing to check is the software version on the desk - version 2.15 is the current software, and adds a feature known as "Smart Tags" which will hopefully resolve a lot of the problems you're seeing. Smart Tags calculate what needs to be 'tagged' in order for the correct scene to be recorded, regardless of what is in the program window. Therefore, if you have data outputting from submasters, that data will be recorded into a memory when Smart Tags are enabled. Similarly, to copy a scene, simply output it and record it again (with Smart Tags enabled) as the new cue number. If you take a read of the release notes for 2.15, which can be found on the download page, they explain pretty much everything thats changed. Nice idea, I believe it is already implemented if you set the Preset Mix Mode to HTP instead of LTP (in Desk Setup/Behaviour). Let me know how you get on.

The Wireless remote software is currently under development. It will be a special piece of software which you install on the PDA, then connect to the desk via Wifi. Keep your eye on the forum for developments.

The Chilli Master Controller simply requires a CAN Bus feed which can be standard Cat5 cable connecting it to the dimmer. The Chillinet Master Touchscreen also requires a mains power feed.

Hi Enox I'm not sure I understand why you need this feature. The fixture library is available for download from our website and is the same as is stored on the desk.

First of all, press the HOME button - if the fixture profile is one in our master library, that should set it to 50/50 Pan & Tilt, Open Colour, Open Gobo, Full Brightness. Check also that the Grand Master fader is up, and that the LED in the Blackout button isn't flashing. If that doesnt work, its worth investigating whether the fixture has a Shutter which is closed. Also, is the fixtures lamp on internally. If not, you'll need to perform the Lamp On routine, which will be described in the user manual for the fixture. It'll be something like holding the Lmp/Res channel at a certain value for a couple of seconds. Alternatively there is normally also a menu option on the fixture to do this for you. I hope this helps

Hi Pete To patch the fixtures, you must first assign them. To do this, go into the <Assign Fixtures> menu in Setup, then press on one of the multi function keys to the right of the main LCD. Then select the manufacturer and model of fixture you are using, and select <Assign> Now you must patch that fixture to a DMX address. To do this, go to the <DMX Patch> menu and select the multi function key which you assigned the fixture to. Now select the DMX address field on the Main LCD and enter the address required using the MFKs. Once you exit Setup, your fixture should move to 'Home' to show that it has been correctly assigned. As an appendum to this release, some users have reported problems when updating from older OS versions (Version 4.0, instead of 4.2) and only performing the UPD update (instead of the full CD install). Therefore we recommend anyone updating from an older OS version should perform the full CD install, available for download from the above link.

Hi Brian You need to ensure that the necessary changes are programmed into each chase step. For example, if you wanted to chase steps 1 to 6... Step 1: Channel 1 @ Full, Channels 2 to 5 Unprogrammed, Channel 6 @ 0 (why? Because when the chase loops back around, you need to take it down) Step 2: Channel 2 @ Full, Channel 3 to 6 Unprogrammed, Channel 1 @ 0 (why? Because otherwise channel 1 will stay on... its value wouldn't have had an instruction to change) Step 3: Channel 3 @ Full, Channel 1 & 4 to 6 Unprogrammed, Channel 2 @ 0.... Step 6: Channel 6 @ Full, Channels 1 to 4 Unprogrammed, Channel 5 @ 0 When you play back the chase, only the *changes* are run between each step (hence why you need to hard-program the channels at zero in order to get them to go off. I hope this explains things a little more clearly. I spoke with your manager today and we're looking at booking a date some time in February for training. Peter

Hi Brian The important factor here is making sure that the desk programs the channels at "0" in the future steps, otherwise the channels will track forwards as expected. It might be worth trying this with Smart Tags disabled, to ensure you're certain which channels are being stored in each step. Hope this helps

You could do this using the Topset function, which is found in Edit Fixtures. Press Edit Fixtures, then select the fixtures required. Move to the "Topset" tab, and select the topset required for the fixture. Note that this is a topset rather than an inhibit, so it will limit the maximum value of the output, rather than scaling the output down. We have talked about adding Inhibitive submasters to a future software version.

You could use the Chilli Master Controller, or the Chillinet Master Touchscreen, which we launched at PLASA last year.

Are you running the desk in Full or Partial mode? When you're in partial mode, be careful of the distinction between selected and tagged. Selected (red LED lit) - those fixtures will be adjusted with the wheels or palettes or HOME button. Tagged (yellow LED flashing) - those fixtures will be recorded.

Obviously becoming part of Cooper Industries has brought changes to the Zero 88 organisation. These have been positive and we are looking to reap the benefits of belonging to a larger corporation during 2008. We also have seen the introduction of several new products and the final retirement of the original Frog series of consoles. The take up of the Leap Frogs and the Jester ML suggests that we have found worthy replacements. As for next year, well we are currently working on some exciting developments which we hope will ensure 2008 is just as successful. In response to the overwhelming user feedback regarding the original Frog range of consoles, our development team have now released version 10.9 software. This release adds a number of new features, aimed at helping users get to grips with the Tracking functionality added in 10.8. Full release notes and downloads can be found here. Hi Jazreal Firstly, please check that the desk is running the latest software. We released version 2.15 this week, so please download this from our website and update as per the instructions there. Smart Tags are enabled on Special Page 1. The problem you are experiencing is not one i've seen myself, but i'll describe how i'd program what you're trying to do. First, check that the CLEAR button LED is OFF. This indicates that nothing will be programmed, and is a good start point when building a new submaster. Now move the generic (preset) faders to set up the parcan scene you require. The LED in the CLEAR button will light to indicate that these channels will be programmed. Now press Submasters. This selects the submaster window on the monitor + main LCD. Select the submaster required. Press Record. Now press CLEAR twice. The LED will go out, as will the generic channels which you have just recorded. Now select the moving head and move it as required. Once you have set up the scene you want on the next submaster.. Press Submasters Select the submaster required Press Record Press CLEAR twice. This process should work with Smart Tags enabled or disabled - Smart Tags simply calculate the exact contents of the submaster based on the outputs of the desk (ie if you're outputting two submasters and have moved the moving lights using the wheels, programming with Smart Tags will store everything, programming without Smart Tags will only program the moving lights you have moved with the wheels). I hope this clears things up.

Hi John The second DMX Universe on a Fat Frog outputs the same data as the first universe, so you can safely run two streams of DMX data from the desk to two areas (your existing rig and your new fixtures, for example) The DMX addresses are still limited to 1-512, and will be the same on both lines. For example, if your fixtures start at 49 on the first line, a fixture addressed to 49 on the second line will respond to the same commands. Therefore, you should address your new fixtures differently to the existing ones. Hope this clears things up. Peter
