Hi Wol I'd use 8 fixtures, 1 for each cell of RGB, and patch a standard RGB Dimmer (found in Conventionals) for each fixture. Of course, this limits you if you have more than 4 'other' fixtures, but it really is the best and most efficient way of controlling them. HTH Peter

All/Channel indicates whether ALL colour attributes are programmed together, or just Cyan on its own. The default (Colour=All, Beamshape=Channel, Position=All) is best. LTP stands for Latest Takes Precedence. The last thing you changed is what is output. The opposite is HTP (Highest Takes Precedence), which is how brightness channels are mixed from different sources.

You can purchase a relay rack, such as our Switch 6, which does exactly this and responds to a normal 'dimmer' channel. This will give you true 230v supply, rather than going through a dimmer which still has a chopped waveform and may cause you problems with certain types of load.

Yep - patch a "relay" fixture (found under Standard Fixtures/1 Channel or 6 Channel), which will give you a beamshape attribute to control the relay. You can then simply set the default value to 100% and the channel will stay on when the desk is booted, until you tell it to change. Peter

Hi there Unfortunately it is not possible to do this on the Bull frog. You can create a fixture profile which controls a particular DMX address, however fixtures are treated Latest Takes Precidence so moving a wheel or playing a memory that contains that fixture will adjust it to whatever level has been requested. What is it that you're trying to achieve - there may be a simpler way using the memories on the chilli dimmer, if you don't need remote control from the desk. Peter

If you create macros (RECORD MACRO n ENTER, COLOUR 1 TIME 5 ENTER, MACRO), you could display the macro window to give you crossfading palettes

Hi Ted The lights must be connected to the desks DMX Output using a daisy chain topology. If you already have dimmers connected then the easiest way to link in the new fixtures is to take the DMX Out from the dimmers and into the first light, then out of that light into the second light. Each fixture will need a DMX address, which will be described in the fixture manual. You will then need to Assign and Patch the fixtures, which is described in the user manual for the Frogs. If you have any problems doing this, please don't hesitate to contact us - if you let us know which manufacturer the scans are made by, we can check if we currently have a fixture profile to support them. The external monitor screen resolution is fixed at 1024x768 (XGA), it is not possible to change this.

Hi Rhiannon It might be best to try this as a chase rather than an inbuilt effect. This gives you the possibility of defining in more detail what happens when - eg you could program the following steps: 1. All fixtures down 2. Fixture 1 up 3. Fixture 1 down, Fixture 2 up 4. Fixture 2 down, Fixture 3 up... Because the Quad effect runs with a fixed time delay you won't achieve what you're trying to as each fixture will want to be Up for the same time it is down. Hi iljan Do you have a show file with the problem times we can look at? Did you record the memories with Smart Tags enabled or disabled? With Cue Only enabled or disabled? How are you adjusting the fade times? There are 3 ways... Select the relevant time, press ENTER, enter the time, press ENTER Select the relevant time and use the wheels to adjust Select the relevant time and use + and - to adjust Which method are you using? It might be worth trying another of them incase that is the problem.

Hi Tara There are a number of bugs we've found with Cue Only updates in version 2.15 which are in the process of being fixed. We'll have a public beta test version out shortly which should fix the majority of them, but please let us know of any examples and we'll get onto them straight away. Peter

No, however you can have Delay times on any of the fade parts on the cue (eg Colour Delay, Beamshape Delay, etc). These are set by pressing the Delay MFK when setting the fade time.

Hi Neil Stage LIghting should have supplied a user manual with the fixtures, which would detail the channel assignments. It's most likely to be something like 1 = Mode 2 = Red 3 = Green 4 = Blue 5 = Speed 6 = Strobe (thats the most common one i've seen from the chinese import LED fixtures). I tend to not bother patching the Mode, Strobe & Speed channels, but instead patch them as a <Conventionals> RGB Dimmer, which gives you 3 RGB channels. I would patch this at DMX 2, if the fixture was addressed at 1. If you have a user manual, fax across a copy of the relevant page and i'll get a profile built for you. Alternatively, if you're happy with the fixture type editor, it shouldn't take long to build. The problem with these unbranded products is that they could be from a number of sources, so recommending an alternative profile is difficult. I hope this helps,

Hi Bill Not at present. Even if it was, it is definately NOT recommended to power moving lights through a dimmer, even if set to 100%. I'd urge you to run 'true' hot power, as the 100% cycle on a dimmer can still give a chopped waveform that can cause problems to the processors and motors in the fixtures, and the power on surge for the discharge lamps could well overload the dimmers circuitry and cause problems there too.

Hi Gavin You can only edit shows offline - there is no link between Phantom and the consoles themselves. We have talked about adding such a link, but that won't be in the next version. Peter

Hi Gavin The remote software is due for launch in a couple of months, and is currently undergoing testing. The software will only function on a Pocket PC device and not on a Laptop - for a Laptop you want Phantom which is the offline editor. I hope this helps,

Do you have Smart Tags enabled? When Smart Tags are enabled and a palette is stored, it tags *all* channels for that attribute. Not ideal in this situation - Smart Tags should be disabled in this case.

In what way do you need to adjust them? The generation is fairly complex, but here is a brief summary: For colour palettes... 1... 10 are always generated, based on the fixtures patched. If the fixture is RGB or CMY, it will use the mix values to create those colours. If the fixture is Fixed Color, it will take the RGB values from the parameter details and match as closely as possible for these palettes. 11 onwards... are generated based on any fixed colour wheels containing RGB data. If more than one type has the same RGB data, the palettes are merged. For gobo palettes.. The desk looks at the GoboX wheels and looks for parameter details named "Gobo X" - the first time it finds each instance, it creates a palette. If, for example, you want the desk to use the Rotating Gobo instead of the Indexing gobo (Indexing normally falls first, so is found first by the desk), you'd have to rename the details in the fixture for Indexing so that they don't start "Gobo X". For position... Just a basic 50/50 Pan/Tilt (it actually picks up the Home value from Edit Fixtures, IIRC). For effects... These are locked and are generated based on the capabilities of the fixture. It relies on the fixture profile having "Special" parameters defined for Position (Pan/Tilt) and Colour (C/M/Y + or -, R/G/B + or -) effects, and just goes on parameter names for effects like Iris and Focus.
