Filenames (USB) Backspace [BS] erases filename completely
kgallen replied to discover's topic in FLX S24 & FLX S48
It looks like your filename is highlighted/selected in blue - and as on Windows, if something is highlighted then you overtype or hit delete the whole lot will change. I'm not saying the UI is correct in this instance so a fix might be desirable. As on Windows, probably if you hit right arrow the highlighting/selection will go? -
Don’t panic - the Zero88 guys will sort you out. They always do and always will (in my experience). Well done for getting through the show. It’s awful when equipment malfunctions (I’ve had this too) but you got through it!

Hi. Yes that’s right. Just send a link or copy of the pdf to fixturesupport@zero88.com and request the fixture profiles are built.
-
At the moment ‘colour morphing’ is not possible on ZerOS, so yes your only way to have a palette available is to ensure one of each type of fixture is selected (and dialled in with the colour etc) when recording the palette. I don’t know about why the name doesn’t show. Hopefully Edward can clarify soon.
-
So you re-recorded some of the mood board palettes into the main colour palettes? But when you did you only had some fixtures selected? And now you have different fixtures selected and 26C wasn’t recorded for those fixtures? Palettes are only blue if they can apply to the currently selected fixtures.

Hi If you provide the manual containing the DMX map to Zero88 they will build the fixture profile for you, if it is not in the library already. This one? https://www.thomann.de/gb/varytec_event_par_ip65_4in1_14x8w.htm?ref=search_complete_suggestion_products+-+Varytec+Event+Par+IP65+4in1+14x8W_Varytec+Event+Par+IP65+4in1+14x8W_1_Varytec+event&i11l=en_GB.GBP

Look, I know you boys have now got Neo and probably lots of other secret stuff to work on as well as ZerOS, but Christmas just isn't the same without an Advent Calendar 😉 ... ... Actually I don't care about the Advent Calendar, I just want the outtakes video - as long as you have falling scenery and Tyler again. 🥰 For those who don't know, we used to be treated to beauties like this (and yes I did just re-watch it instead of testing Edward's latest ZerOS beta 😆 ). I'll note we're still waiting for the feature with the drop down menu that drops the scenery!!!

Hi, in reply to your message (best we share this live so others more knowledgable on Orb can help): Your patch looks sensible if you have normal dimmers (I can see at least 27 on your screen shot) and they are based at DMX address 1. This would be typical so I don’t see anything out of the ordinary there. Otherwise I’m afraid I know nothing about your board other than it is a very capable and high end desk (as a school you are very lucky!). We could try come commands (but you might have to do other things on the Orb for these to work). For example: 1 THRU 24 @50 do any lights come on? If you drop and raise the grand master and master playback faders does this help? Otherwise I would give Keith (Service Manager and all-round good egg) at Zero88 a call. +44 (0)1633 838088

There have been a massive amount of changes to ZerOS since 7.3 including (I understand) significant changes to the operating paradigm. You’ve probably done the equivalent of moving from Windows XP to Windows 10. Before the Zero88 guys can be more specific I think you’re going to have to download a lot of the intervening release notes and have a read. Also have a search on this forum, probably most usefully in the Solution (or ZerOS LeapFrog) area, for discussions on this and probably around the 7.9 to 7.12 versions. (No point in looking at the FLX forum). Dumb question: Have you checked your lights are still patched?

Try a "small" stick, say 32GB or smaller. and ensure it's not in a "fancy format" - FAT32 is good...
-
Touch screen is probably still good. Bet the water can't get at that easily. Most at risk would probably be the button pads and faders. I think the CPU card is mounted under the front panel so that might have avoided a soaking?

If you're up against it at this time, then give them a call. I'm sure Keith will be around even if Edward or Jon aren't. +44 (0)1633 838088

Does your "8 way Chauvet DMX splitter" support RDM? Most "cheap" DMX splitters are unidirectional and will thus block RDM packets, so RigSync won't work for fixtures fed from that DMX splitter. Do you have other fixtures fed from this splitter where RigSync works? (And to add, that these fixtures weren't previously connected directly to the console and then moved behind the splitter after their config was set by RigSync).
-
Interesting. I guess I never really thought about default holding colour but I guess it does, just the default is usually white! So what you’re saying seems perfectly sensible! I guess this us fairly easy to do - you’d set some fixtures and done RECORD HOME. It would have asked, I think, home or default, which might have rung some alarm bells, but certainly not hard it do. Tomorrow, Edward comes along and tells us we’re both talking nonsense!
-
I’m not sure what you mean by ‘recorded into default’ - which ‘default’ is this? The only ‘default’ I know of is under HOME and you DELETE HOME. But you can’t record an effect there so you must mean something else?

As with me, this is due to COPY cue. I think if you were programming a fresh show, did a COPY then did an UPDATE then when you are programming the next cue fresh (not COPY) then I think it will be tracked from Cue 10. Maybe what is happening here is either (a) Cue 10,11,12 were all COPY, or maybe (b) if Cue 10 is a COPY, then when you UPDATE cue 10, the desk has to repair Cue 11 by changing the values to blocked. Just my guess! I'll add that I've never been brave enough to try the global unblock in the middle of a tech. I'm sure it's fine though and Edward has tested it thoroughly!
-
Yep, that’s the ticket.
-
We didn’t do anything really! Good luck with the gig, sounds like you’re up to your neck in it!
-
Looks more than capable.

Doesn't sound like the console, sounds like an electrical noise coupling issue between your dimmers or control wires to those dimmers What are your dimmers? Where are 14 and 26 in respect of the dimmers - same dimmer box, or different dimmer boxes on the same phase of the electrical supply? Are they analogue control input (with a DMX demux)? If you swap control cables (DMX/analogue) around does the problem stay on 26 or does it move around? If you go into the Z key there is a tab for DMX Outputs. Do you see what you expect under address 14 (whatever) and circuit 26 (0 presumably). (This assumes your dimmers are patched at addresses 1-<whatever>, adjust above numbers if they don't start at 1).

The Zero88 YouTube channel I think is "mothballed" in preference to now using the Vari-lite YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/@zero88/videos -> https://www.youtube.com/@VariLite/videos Is it worth, if you can, putting something on the Zero88 channel to direct users to the Vari-lite channel plus referencing that channel in the About and Channels tabs? Probably a 30 second video would be the best way to get a notification in front of users looking for information beyond (e.g.) ZerOS 7.12 because for example the 7.14 stuff is on Vari-lite rather than Zero88 (which of course I realise you know, but users possibly don't!) Ta.

Yea Edward is right, since both of your fades are 15 seconds then you don't need the Auto cue in my explanation. If you wanted different fade times then you would need the Auto method in my post (say you wanted 15 secs to 0% and 20 secs to 25%). Sorry for over-complicating it!

It's a standard ethernet port so you can use a standard ethernet switch as you would with a computer network. (I'm guessing it's 100Mb/s not Gigabit). https://www.zero88.com/manuals/zeros/networking/building-a-network

Playback configuration changes when Tracking Option is enabled
kgallen replied to penlec's topic in Solution & Solution XL
As I understand it, the internal database does not change with the Tracking setting. What does change is how the console interprets that data when you play it back. Different to Frog consoles if that is your history, you couldn't change between Full and Partial mode without corrupting your cue stack (generalisation - but you couldn't swap back and forth without consequence). -
I think we'd need a little more information to find an explanation for this. Maybe if you upload the showfile this will be enough for Edward to try "unblock" and give you an explanation if the unblocking doesn't work for a specific fixture.
