Remove is detailed on this manpage: https://www.zero88.com/manuals/zeros/cues-playbacks/updating-cues/update-options#remove I've struggled with this myself over the years, I'll try and find the "full recipe" that Edward gave me... (although it is in words on that manpage).
-
External or internal touch screen? I think you're talking about external but you don't say. Did you do the calibration procedure in Setup? You'll have to do this after for example a fresh ZerOS install, or a factory reset. You might have to press the Update key for some monitors.
-
This requires a very specific operation to eliminate the instruction for the light entirely from the cue (rather than just alter its non-zero intensity). This requires using the Remove option in the Update window and the turning off of Smart Tag. Can you confirm you're familiar with this operation? Further, if you have Tracking enabled, then that light could be "on" due to tracking in from an earlier cue. You will see this in the output window with the fixture intensity number being in purple.

Ohhhh.... so FLX S users can't do "scaling" then, only "relative"? Why the two different mechanisms - was this deliberately and knowingly different, or did it just get coded like that and Jon went "(cough) Well that's not what I expected, but I like it (not a lot), but I like it! We'll keep it." (Sorry, old reference there which you might not pick up on given your more tender years! 🤣) I can see an application for both, but I hadn't clocked they were different as you clearly explain! But given the relationship, a cross link to "the related feature" would be handy - I suspect "the old guard" (who might have grown up with one or more Strand consoles) would search on "relative" for such a function. Thanks for the explanation - so I think also the "Z Key" chapter needs an example along the lines of what you've just given and maybe a comment to highlight that the two mechanisms, whilst related, perform different (mathematical) functions and hence why the different terms used of "relative" and "scaling". Slightly confusingly for me the wheel is actually taking the values down by the same *absolute* amount (both by 50 points in your example), I'm not sure there is anything relative in it!

On this page: https://www.zero88.com/manuals/zeros/z-key/z-encoders It talks about using the Intensity Wheel to do a relative adjustment. The terminology used is: "This intensity adjustment is relative" This section should link to the syntax that provides the same function, on this page: https://www.zero88.com/manuals/zeros/selection-and-intensity/commands#scaling The terminology used is: "SCALING SYNTAX" The terminology needs aligning. With the wheel the terminology uses "relative" (which was the search term I used). For syntax the terminology uses "scaling". Hence I didn't find the manpage with the syntax I was looking for since the term "scaling" was used instead of "relative".

Ah, answered... https://www.zero88.com/manuals/zeros/selection-and-intensity/commands#scaling Would be good if a search of "relative" found that or it was linked from the Encoders->Intensity subsection. Also whilst I'm moaning about Search again, I selected FLX as the product and Search gave me results in Solution (amongst others).
-
Wrong thread really but as I'm here... Is there a syntax equivalent of using the Intensity Wheel for a relative nudge? Something like 1 THRU 10 @-50 that takes channels 1-10 down 50% of their current value? Or 1 THRU 6 @+20 takes them 20% up relative. That's what I was looking for in the manual but didn't find it.

Probably due to the Vari-Lite move. This page: https://www.zero88.com/manuals/zeros/z-key/z-encoders This link: Click here for more information on using the Intensity Wheel This result: 404 Page Not Found (URL is: https://www.zero88.com/manuals/zeros/intensity/encoder-wheel) Possibly other links in the online manual are broken to for the same reason, could you please check and fix. (ETA: On the same page, link "See Chase Settings for more information." works ok!) Thanks! 🙂

Hi Jon. Interesting point. When the ZerOS manual is rendered as a pdf it doesn’t come out that great on the formatting or pagination. Also content wise, it reads more as a ‘reference manual’ than a user manual (I’ve commented this before). It’s all there (when you finally find the right section) but it doesn’t really lead the user through in a ‘friendly, readable way’. The short pages of the online version are hard work to keep the reading thread going, hence the original request for the P/N buttons. Also the search doesn’t seem to be getting any better at presenting the most likely candidates. I appreciate Edward and yourself have spent many hours on this, so I do apologise if I’m sounding ungrateful, that’s not the intention. How do you present the Neo manual? Regards, Kevin

😛 OK I'm playing my joker... I was perusing the ETC ColorSource manual because a BlueRoomer is looking for a console upgrade from an Illusion... Then I needed to look at the ZerOS manual... 'nuff said. 😁

I know, I know, never happy, always moaning... Pretty Please can we have "Previous" and "Next" page buttons on the Online Manual? It's so tedious to have to keep going back to the menu to get the next page, and doing so on a phone is a real PITA (did I wear that one out already? 😛 ). Buttons top and bottom of the page would be nice 🙏
-
Then a Topset for the 90%? Depends on the console...
-
It's an ok green, but we're sad to see the Zero88 brand being diluted... 😞
-
Edward did you use the FLX colour picker to get the Vari-Lite green for the site? 🤪
-
Nice videos link... 🙂
-
For others, on an iPhone it’s in the top right menu (3 lines). Thanks Edward 🙂

The bottom of this manual page says you can manually update the address of a fixture that was originally patched by RigSync. https://www.zero88.com/manuals/zeros/patching/fixture-schedule/edit-dmx-address

Finding stuff like the Online manual is a PITA (it was bad enough before VariLite, now it's... more work than it should be, it's not under Support that I can find, not easily anyway, so then it's dig around under Products...). Could you add a ZerOS online manual link in the Forum header - the banner with Homepage / Forums / All Activity / ... ZerOS Online Manual. Or maybe even more generically "Manuals" then we can find stuff for Frog etc quickly too 😉 Pretty please? 🙂

No you shouldn't need to start physically moving dimmers around, that would of course be madness! Can you access the dimmers? You should be able to set the address on them and then RigSync should keep that. Also you should be able to set the address manually on the desk and then RigSync honour that too. After that you should be able to do "Lock Rig" - then I assume that new fixtures added would still be patched at free addresses. I'm blagging this all though, because I don't have any fixtures that support RDM... (well maybe 2...) Some might say "why do you care about the addresses that RigSync allocates" - but I'm with you, I would want some order in the addressing against physical locations of static items like dimmers, because such order helps when plugging up and diagnosing issues. So don't take "No" for an answer 😉 This any use?

I would use the Effect section. Choose ‘lightning’, wind up the speed and set the offset to random.

Looks better. Desk ID is invalid - start the console again and see if this disappears (console re-wrote the desk ID). Or some internal switches got moved? @KWR88 will know the answer. Keep posting info here, but @KWR88 said above to PM (private-message) him. You should be able to do that by clicking on his icon above or using the envelope icon at the top of the Forum.

Will do. These happened last night (when I was commenting on the MACRO stuff in beta). Posted the above this morning when it worked! Let's see if this reply gets in!

I’m getting cant edit then forbidden access messages again. They persist after a browser restart.

@KWR88 Service Manager (and a whole lot more) at Zero88.

I’m getting the ‘can’t edit’ message again.
