Hi Edward, Thanks for reply. I had half worked out that this was what I woulld have to do. I have 4 scrollers and I just wanted them to move 1 colour every few minutes just as a colour changing background to a social evening at the Theatre. I'll experiment. Dave

Hi All, This question may have been asked before but I'm having problems with Chase Speed. I don't want the chase to be activated in BPM. I want it to Chase using the Fade Times I have set in the Cue List. I'm sure I read somewhere that if you set the BPM to "0" then the Chase will ignore the BPM and use the fade times. But when I enter "0" in the BPM button as soon as I hit "Enter" it reverts to "1" and if you select "Global BPM" and try and wind the Encoder wheel to "0" it stops at "1". Am I missing something here. Has this feature been removed with the latest update. I am running the latest version and it was the same in the previous version. Dave

Many Thanks. When I got home from the Theatre yesterday I thought about it and realised what I hadn't tried which is exactly what you've described. I'm on it.😀

Hi All, Our FLX 48S desk has only 1 Universe. Before the latest update there was a way of using the Universe outputs as a DMX splitter which I had set via instructions from this forum. I used the 5 pin output to feed the dimmer rack and the 3 pin to run on-stage fixtures and all worked fine. Since the update I don't seem to be able to do this. I tried changing the Output of Universe 2 to Output 1 but it says this is already being used by Universe 1. Is the feature I had used before been removed from the latest software release? Dave

Thanks Jon.

Hi Jon, Our FLX S48 is at present running ZerOS 7.9.9 installed Dec. 2020. Do I need to install all the subsequent updates between then and now before installing ZerOS 7.13 or can I just install 7.13. Dave Sims

Thanks Both, I'll set this up next time I'm at the desk. Dave

Hi All, We use a FLX48S desk. We output DMX through 5 pin socket on rear of desk, through our rack of dimmers then on out onto stage for on-stage fixtures. Can the desk act as a DMX Splitter so that we keep the 5 pin output for the dimmer rack, then terminate and then use the 3 pin output to feed on-stage fixtures? It only has one universe. Dave

Hi All, Does the FLX48S have a back-up internal batter like the Jester range. If it does how often should it be changed. Dave

Hi Edward, Desk came back today. LED 2 fixed. Fantastic service. Thanks a lot to you guys. Onwards and upwards to the show in 10 days time. Dave

Hi Edward, Tried the Test and all looked fine so I'm assuming the software is doing it's job just a hardware problem. Desk is on it's way back to you via the firm we purchased it from. Thanks for all your help. I'm looking forward to the first show mid. October using the FLX S48 for the first time. Dave

Hi Edward, Thanks for the post. All OK now. It allows me to enter a "decimal point" cue number fine. It also allows me to enter any cue number which isn't already present so it allows you to leave gaps in your cue list so that you can infill later if need be. I sometimes do this for a revue style event when you are not sure what each act requires. Although with FLX you could program separate playbacks. I have a small query but am unsure who I should contact about it. The LED in the playback button under Fader #2 does not light up ever not even when the LED's are scrolling as the desk boots up. I don't want to create a new topic because this is really a warranty issue. Who should I get in touch with regarding this. As posted previously the desk is brand new. Dave

Hi Edward, Sorry I didn't get back sooner but have been working at our Theatre all day so only just read your post. With nothing being programmed on the desk, pressing "Z" gives me the "Quick Access Functions" page. If I now raise faders on several Dimmer Channels to program a cue, the LED in the buttons below the faders light. I then tap "record" and all the LED's flash presumably waiting for me to choose a playback to contain my cue. The display shows a page entitled "FLX Record Options". On this page "Smart Tag" & "Track Forwards" have a red line, everything else has a blue line or is "grayed" out. If I now tap "Z" nothing changes in the window. It still displays "FLX Record Options". The Software version is "7.9.4.3 4/5/2018". The desk is brand new. Only delivered the end of last week. All I've done is DMX patched faders 1 to 36 to "Dimmer" and have added a moving light from the library just to try out doing it. The desk has not even been connected to the Theatre system yet. Hope this explains where I'm at. As I posted earlier "Copy" works fine so I could fudge it by programming a cue into the end of the stack, copy it to, say, 6.5 then delete the original but it is a fudge. Dave

I have now tried this umpteen times. "Copy" to a decimal point cue number is fine. Set a scene, tap "Record", then tap "Z" no keypad appears. Tap playback button and cue gets recorded at end of stack. I've tried holding down "Z" and tapping playback button and keypad appears. As soon as I type the decimal point the numbers go red. When I go back to the stack the scene is at the end of the stack.

Hi Edward, I was able to "Copy" a cue to a cue "6.5". When I try to "Record" a cue to a decimal point number, I set the scene up, tap "Record", tap"Z" and the keypad comes up. I type "6" OK but when I type the decimal point the displayed "6" and the decimal point turn red. When I type another "6" the number turns into "66" in yellow. I hit the playback button. When I check the stack, I don't have a cue "66". The cue has just been added to the end of the stack. Dave

The manual, under "Cues", states that it's possible to have a cue numbered "2.1". This would be similar to "Insert Cue" on a Jester desk. I wish to do an "Insert Cue" but cannot work out how this is done. You don't seem to be able to choose your cue number anywhere so your new cue ends up as the next cue in the stack instead of being "inserted" where you want it. I tried copying this cue to a cue "2.1" but it just says this cue is not available. Dave

Is it possible to just have an ordinary monitor connecter to an S48? I assume with a standard VGA lead. Our Theatre is purchasing an S48 but not a touch screen monitor. We do have a standard computer monitor. Would this be OK to display Playback Window etc. Dave

Hi All, Problem solved by Keith Rogers (top man). It's to do with LCD Bias configuration. Our desk had gone into "Low" when I loaded software 4.0. Just needed to select "High" and it's fixed.

Hi all, I've just joined this forum. Our Group has a Jester 48ML which has been great and I really like it. In midst of a play this week and the small Fixture screens on the top right of the desk do not light up properly. Instead of blue they are streaked with vertical white lines quite close together. You can read the writing OK and the desk behaves as it should. I read a reply to a previous post that seemed to say this maybe due to the on-board battery. Is this the case or do the screens need replacing? The main display screen is fine.
