  2. Thanks Jon. That's good to hear. However as I've commented to Edward before, I'm still not clear why you want to hard-separate current and legacy products. Users don't know or care what their product fits under and your product line moves on so this implies you need to keep reshuffling the website to move stuff over - I'm not clear who gains from such partitioning? The user has to search multiple places and you have to keep moving stuff. Then as now we find the good current stuff has wandered off into the legacy section. Sure, on a product page mark it in big flashing words at the top that it's a discontinued product but why artificially separate in the support portal? More appropriate partitiioning is consoles, dimmers etc like it is on the Zero88 front page. If you must "separate" them maybe have the list like your example above but have "Consoles <current list> <blank line> <legacy list>" then the 40 odd don't crowd your current crown jewels but there is not a "separate section". Cheers, Kevin ps Should we not ask about the updated FLX manuals promised in May? 😋

  4. Tried to send the .exe file for you to check it, but it is too big. Its size is 132,786 kb.
  5. Hi Kevin, We're approx a month away from launching our new website, that sets us up to solve some of these issues: 1) All downloads for current products (such as ZerOS, Fixture Library etc) will be much more simply downloadable directly from the relevant product page, and looks a little like this: 2) Legacy products will be listed and, at start, will link directly to the relevant area of the knowledgeable. Once launched, one-by-one each of these legacy products (all 47 years worth!) will be converted to a "normal" product pages, making all the downloads work exactly the same as current products. The knowledgebase / forum will then not be used for any downloads what-so-ever. 3) We plan to transition the knowledgebase over to the new website as a Phase 2 development. Eaton's nanorep platform was a significant improvement over our old knowledgebase, but the search, URL structures and breadcrumbs just aren't performing how we were promised or how we'd like, so we'll bring it all back in house! Our beta testers can see how the website's coming along via the link within the beta forum.

    Macros on FLX 7.9.5

Hi Romec, That's correct, in some situations you may want the steps of the macro to execute over a longer period - for example when entering or exiting Setup using a "keys" Macro. Edward

    Macros on FLX 7.9.5

Hi Edward, thank you so much for your help. It has been very helpful! About the speed, is this utilized when a macro needs a bit more time to execute? Or what would be the purpose of slowing down the macro?
  8. In over 10 years of using the Fat Frog I never knew the reason for the Reset DMX option. Sure I triggered it a couple of times for the duck of it, but I never had a real reason for it! If you have inherited the desk I'd just be sure to install 10.12 software on it (the latest). This can be downloaded from this site, put onto a floppy and on power cycling the desk with this floppy in the desk should upgrade. Actually prior to doing this, replace the internal battery. 10.12: https://eaton.nanorep.co/storage/nr1/kb/2AD62C9/3879A76B/3A210339/31/FrogOS v10.12.zip Battery: (Jeez, Edward those "Download" and "Support" sections are just truly awful. Is it ever going to get sorted into an accessible resource? You can't find anything in the damn area. Casual visitors have no chance. As I've said many times before - I know what I'm looking for and I still have to hunt around - and I know there is stuff under there somewhere. Frog-wise it's just a jumble and ZerOS-wise half of the useful stuff for FLX is under the "Legacy" Orb/XF sections.)
  9. Hi Rigo, The Reset DMX Outputs option in Setup will temporarily reset the DMX outputs for a few seconds, and then return the output to the previous values. More information can be found in the manual here... http://support.zero88.com/975242041 You therefore should be able to use the console as normal without loosing show data or requiring a software update. If you have tried doing this and experienced issues, try power cycling the console. Hope this helps, Edward
  10. kgallen - no not the show. i don't know what is it but i think the desk has a DMX software of some sort on an internal memory and i deleted that by mistake. and when i bought the desk i got it without a floppy disk in it. the menu i used was the super user and i reset the Reset DMX Outputs and then none of the light output wouldn't turn on anymore.

    Macros on FLX 7.9.5

Hi Romec, When macros have been programmed, they can't be edited. When you recall a macro, you will see the commands being typed in the command line. If you wish you can slow the playback speed. To do this hold SETUP and tap the Macro tile in the macros window, and from the Speed drop down choose Slow. Macros can include as many button presses as you wish. If you wanted this to be a macro, you would tap RECORD -> MACRO -> 1 -> Commands -> [fixture number] -> [attribute key followed by palette number] -> RECORD -> [attribute key followed by palette number you wish to overwrite] -> ENTER -> MACRO. Macros on FLX 7.9.5

Hi Edward. Thank you for your advise. I have a whole lot more questions now. Let’s see if I can write them down 1: if I made a macro. Can I change it afterwords? And can I see the command-feedback (so that I know what I did) 2: so a macro can only contain 1 string of commands, right? 3: what would be the right syntax if I would overwrite a preset? (EG: fixture X at preset Y , store / overwrite) thats it it for now thank you!
  13. Hello, If you turn the console on, tap Z/Shift -> System Information, is the software still displaying ZerOS 7.9.4.3? Edward

    Macros on FLX 7.9.5

Hi Romec, When recording a macro, you have the option to record keys, or commands. If you choose commands, anything that gets written in the command line will be stored, until you press the MACRO button. Then when you recall the macro, all commands will be replayed as a single string. Hope this helps, Edward

    Odd Behaviour

Hi Olly, OK thanks for confirming. Yes keep me updated on the return - feel free to email if you wish. Will let you know what the issue is. Again really sorry you've experienced this fault, if there's anything we can do let me know. Edward
  16. Dear All, Zero 88 Fixture Library version 38 has now been released. For full information, please visit: http://zero88.com/software/library This release contains 10380 fixtures from 360 different manufacturers. For a list of fixtures in the library please click here. The library is released in 2 formats: Full version for desks running ZerOS software (ORB Series, Solution series, FLX Series, and Leap Frog 48 & 96). Filtered version for other Zero 88 desks. This removes data that is not used by these other desks, so that the file is smaller. When using a floppy disk (original Frog series, Illusion 500) it is recommended that the floppy disk be freshly formatted before using it. Download & Installation The correct format of the library for your desk can be downloaded by clicking the product name below. The library (.ift file) should be placed in the root directory of the floppy disk or USB stick. ZerOS desks (FLX, FLX S, ORB Series, Solution series and Leap Frog 48 & 96) To load this file into your console extract it to the root of a USB stick and plug into your console. Then tap SETUP, tap "Load File", then select the GFT.ift file. FROG2 To load this file into your console extract it to the root of a USB stick and plug into your console. Then tap SETUP, tap "Load File", then select the GFT.ift file. JesterML & JesterTL The fixture library is installed on the desk at manufacture, however this can be updated from USB if required in Setup -> Update Fixture Lib -> Update Library. Frog Series and Illusion 500 Use 'Common Fixture Manager' (included in the Fixture Tools download) to select the fixtures you wish to use, and save this as a file to a floppy disk. Diablo The fixture library is used with the Diablo Fixture Manager PC software. Sirius 250/500 Use the Fixture Type Editor to import fixture types from the fixture library, and then use the ‘Export Sirius UFT’ function (under the ‘File’ menu) to generate data in the correct format for the Sirius 250/500. Further details of assigning fixtures on the desk to fixture types in the fixture library can be found in each desk’s operating manual. Additional Fixtures If you need a fixture type which is not in the library, please read the following thread:
  17. Rigo - what have you lost? Have you lost the programming of your show? If so you can only recover it if you have previously saved to floppy disk which you can reload from. Maybe you can list exactly what you did to "reset" - tell us which menu items you used. Kevin

  19. I have a zero 88 light mixer and it had problems with the sliders so I saw on another form on this site how to reset the memories but I accidentally erase everything from the memories and i red that the DMX need a software of some sort on a floppy disk to work on the desk. hopefully you all have that software or another method to get that back because i need this mixer to work asap. hope to hear from someone soon. Rigo
  20. Having checked as you suggest the current software, it is indeed 7.9.4.3. I have downloaded 7.9.5, twice. The first time the file was shown as corrupted. The second time I extracted it to my USB flash drive and tried to install it following instructions. However the installation failed because it apparently could not find the update file? What do I do now?

    Macros on FLX 7.9.5

Hi All, I have a question about macro’s. is it possible to record multiple command (lines) in a single macro?

    Odd Behaviour

🤨 scratch that... started to repatch the desk rather than load an old show, in case there was an issue with the show file... lasted 25 minutes and then the same behaviour resumed. strangly i noticed this time it crashed as soon as i pressed the save button on the show file. now back to intermittent on / off pattern. I will email and post here once i have confirmation from the supplier about a return. Thanks for the help, Keith too. Id be interested to know what the fault is when you get it back... Olly

    Odd Behaviour

Hello, OK thanks for the information. This sounds like it could be an intermittent power issue, however we haven't seen anything like this before. If you have any questions feel free to drop me an email or give us a call. Edward

    Odd Behaviour

As Edward has confirmed for us I don't believe so on FLX. With Frog range, a flat battery caused all sorts of misbehaviour. As a result I asked about the battery in the FLX soon after I bought it, and Jon said that the battery was only there for the RTC and not related to retaining show data in RAM before it's copied to some non-volatile storage.

    Odd Behaviour

Thanks Edward, I have contacted Hawthorn who have advised they will contact me shortly to arrange a collection. In the mean time i have tried the 7.9.4 boot option and the same issue occurred. I have now gone back to 7.9.5 and on a further test, i can leave the power connected to the unit and the desk switched on. When i do this, the desk will intermittently power up. It will remain powered for between 2 and 5 minutes before crashing back to the same issues stated above. If i still leave the power connected, the unit will then power up again after 10-15 mins of "odd behaviour" and the process will repeat. However... i have left the desk to do this for the past couple of hours, and now i have returned to it, the desk seems stable again. I'm going to monitor the issue for the remainder of the day, and test again tomorrow to see if i can replicate the issue... if not, then im stumped as to why it now functions, although a little apprehensive about it acting up again during a show.

    Odd Behaviour

Hi Olly, Really sorry to hear this. I believe you have spoken to Keith on the phone regarding this. So to confirm, you have created a bootable USB drive with ZerOS 7.9.5. Booting the console boots into the install screen, where you can perform the installation. When complete, power cycle, and the console sometimes boots correctly? Please try repeating this process, however with ZerOS 7.9.4, available here... If this still hasn't solved the problem, please go back to Hawthorn, who if necessary will be able to send it back to us for investigation. The battery shouldn't have anything to do with the issue. Feel free to continue the conversation over email if that's easier. Kind regards Edward

    Odd Behaviour

No problem Kevin, test mode is a handy little tool. Reverting to the Jester is a PITA, but we'll make it work... we have a predominately LED rig, but not much in the way of moving heads, so with some creative grouping it will be fine. Just as thought, would the behaviour I'm seeing be related to something as simple as a flat BIOS battery?
