    ZerOS 7.9.5

To add onto Edward's comments, tonight we've released ZerOS 7.9.5.31 to our Beta Test forum. I've also written this note in the Beta forum:

    ZerOS 7.9.5

Hi Eric, Sorry to hear your frustrations. I can't remember whether you are part of our beta test group? If not, you are more than welcome to drop us an email to support@zero88.com requesting to be added to the beta test group, if this is something that may be of interest. This will give you access to the latest beta software. Internally at the time of writing we are currently testing ZerOS 7.9.4.31. We are hoping to release another beta soon for beta testers to get the latest preview of ZerOS 7.9.5. The current beta software available for our beta testers is ZerOS 7.9.4.25. This already includes the ability to change fixture defaults, home values, and max levels on FLX S consoles. Support for what we call composite fixtures is being worked on, but there is no preview of this as yet, and no release date. If you have any further queries do feel free to post, or email me directly. All the best, Edward
  4. Hi Edward, i’m Away from the desk now so i’ll Give this a go on Monday and let you know! thanks
  5. Hello, When the console powers up and this playback is output, what does the Output Window display for this fixture? If the fixture is displaying 100%, and when selected colour is reporting 5600K, then it sounds like the console is outputting the correct information to the fixture. If you pull the playback down, and push it back up, does the fixture then come on? If you push the playback up, select the fixture, turn it on to 100% (2 @@ is a shortcut for this), is it on in the correct colour temperature? If so tap UPDATE, and tap your playback button to add the fixture into the playback. If it helps, feel free to send a copy of your show file to support@zero88.com with a description of the problem, and one of the team will be able to take a look and get back to you. Hope this helps, Edward
  6. Hi, ive got a Zero88 FLX console operating the DMX controls for lighting on a filming stage, using a combination of sky panels and space force lights. day to day we operate with the lights on 100% intensity and 5600k, so to make life easier i recorded a playback of all the lights set this way, to recall when we power on the desk. however, upon power up, the intensity and colour settings for the 2nd light in the sequence are forgotten, meaning it just goes blank when the desk fires up. any ideas? thanks

    ZerOS 7.9.5

I thought the development would be faster. The ZerOS 7.9.4 was released on March 19, 2018. I have submitted Bugs. And there isn't a Bugfix Release since than. I think it should be possible to release an update with Bugfixing every quarter of the year. No one gives you a real timeline. No one knowes what will be on the list. I think it's a shame that everyone is talking about features on and on.. and nothing happens over years. I have now many fixtures with many LED Pixels and more than one dimmer channel. And you found things like this for less money in many ways. It is not possible to change defaults... i hve to use a pc software for that... And the resolution of the PC software is bad... you can not use this in the way it should be... I thought this lighting desk would be a good solution. But after a year... i think i will sell it and by a GrandMa or ChamSys solution. That can handle fixtures that are on the market for many years. The FLX has some nice features. But for an "easy" solution for everyone, there are so many little problems... and no one can say when they where changed.

    Beam & Shape Lockup

Dear Kgallen, Thank you for your swift response much appreciated, i thought this may be the case but wanted to confirm that i did not have some corruption during the update process. Kind regards,
  10. Hello, To reset the console, these are the keys you'll need to press: Enter Setup, by holding SHIFT and holding MODE, then Arrow down 10 times, and press ENTER. Then Arrow right, and press Enter, which will reset the console. Then hold MODE to leave Setup. To change the Main LCD contrast, again enter Setup, then arrow up 5 times, and press ENTER. Then press ENTER, and hold the up arrow to raise the Back light, and press ENTER. Then arrow down, and press ENTER, and then hold the up arrow to raise the contrast. You should then be able to see your way out of the menus. You may find that using Phantom Jester on PC helps you find your way around the menu structure. Phantom Jester allows you to emulate Jester ML24 on your PC. You can download Phantom Jester for PC here... http://support.zero88.com/975199911 Hope this helps, if you have any queries let me know. Edward
  11. The manual, p34, says "If the LCD Backlight or Contrast have been set to unreadable values, you will need to connect a monitor to be able to navigate to this menu and set readable values.". It seems your only other option is to know the menu structure and be able to navigate to the required menu item blind. I don't have a Jester - Edward might be able to supply the "footsteps" you need to navigate blind from a cold desk start... https://eaton.nanorep.co/storage/nr1/kb/2AD62C9/3879A76B/3A205D35/22/Jester Manual 3.4.pdf
  12. Hello. I have a Jester ML24 console and I set the LCD display Brightness to zero and now I can not get it back to 50 (I have no monitor). What to do? Can I reset the console (hard reset)? Kind regards Bo

    Beam & Shape Lockup

Yes it's normal... for now. The Shape button is provided for future use with a new fixture library format which requires separate "Beam" and "Shape" attributes. Pressing "Shape" used to display a message "Coming Soon..." but Zero88 seemed to get a lot of stick from the user-base for this so they just made the Beam and Shape buttons act as a locked pair. In some future software release, Shape will have it's own functionality. For now, don't worry about it, just press the Beam button - and yes, both Beam and Shape LEDs will light.

    Beam & Shape Lockup

Hi All, Since upgrading my desk to ver. 7.9.4.3 when i press the "Beam or Shape" buttons, both led's on the buttons turn on. Looking at the syntax it also confirms this by displaying "Beam & Shape" was pressed. I have at least made an attempt to read the change log info provided for the new version and cant seem to find any mention of this being normal or an intended feature, could someone please confirm if this is standard in the new version software? Kind Regards, Keyzer

    ZerOS 7.9.5

Nico, I think you're going to be waiting a little longer:
  16. When does this long promised Update to ZerOS 7.9.5 finally release? I've been waiting over a year now for compound fixtures support. Best wishes, Nico
  17. Hi Martin, I’ve had a quick look at your show file, and there’s definitely something strange going on. There’s nothing in your programming that is causing the issue. I will have to do more investigating. Edward
  18. My fading chase still behaves oddly. One thing I did notice is that whilst I set my fixtures on MFF49 and MFF50 and select the colours I want on each fixture and that when I fade up I get that colour, if I double click the CLEAR button as you would if you make changes in a normal Master playback scenario the colours are reset back to, in my case, white. The fading up/down to the BPM works by adjusting intensity and colour settings under Setup for the cue (in my case 19) but the colour still flicks back to white at about 90% fade up in intensity. File of just this is attached. I would like to know what I am doing wrong. fading chase.isf
  19. No problem, let me know how you get on. Edward
  20. Thanks JWylie91. I shall be doing just that. I guess I was in a bit of a rush to do the effect (which will be vastly expanded on but wanted to test it basic!!) Thank you.
  21. That would have been my method of approaching programming this chase. I would, as you have suggested, initialise each fixture with its desired colour then simply take the intensity down, then record and repeat with the intensities reversed... That way I would be sure that the information given to the fixtures is always going to contain my required colour data.
  22. Hi Edward. Again many thanks. I will now look at intensities and colour Given you second comment about hard value, I am thinking if I approach it differently and set my intended colours at the outset i.e. fixture 1 is set at red and fixture 2 to green before I create the playback then create the playback/chase. Again many thanks for your help
  23. Hi Martin, If you are viewing the cues recorded as a chase in the cue list window, the fade times you see are not used for chases. These times are purely there for if you were to revert the playback from a chase to a cue stack. Therefore adjusting these won’t effect your chase. Instead go into the settings of your chase, ensure Cross Fade is selected, and then enter an intensity fade percentage. If you enter a colour percentage, do you find this solves the issue? If you are seeing a white intensity value in the output window, it means that channel has been blocked. Basically in this scenario it sounds like in cue 1 of the chase fixture 2 has been given hard values of white, which means that as you fade down from cue 2 to cue 1 you see the colour change. If you’d like one of the team to take a look at your show file, please send us an email to support@zero88.com with it attached, and we’ll be able to take a look and give you an explanation of what’s causing the isssue. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any queries. Edward
  24. I have posted a couple of things regarding chases and all have been answered - thank you!! New query. Requirement of a chase of two LED's - one LED set red the second green. a slow chase of alternating red and green (10BPM) just alternate fading up and down (colour stays fixed to LED) Desk set no tracking. LED fixtures (PAR's) set and controlled on MFF 1 and 2. First: MFF 1 up full, colour set to red. Program to Playback 10. MFF to zero. Second: MFF 2 up full, colour set to green. Program to Playback 10. Select as chase. MFF to zero. Select playback.Setup on playback with global BPM field set to 10BPM. MFF 10 to full. two LED's alternate (snap red/green) On the two playback lines (playback view) the two lines that a alternate green/yellow I see fade up/down times on one as 3 and 3 seconds but the other as 0 and 0. I have altered them so they are the same but makes no difference. The only time I can get them to fade up and down is to go to the Setup for playback 10 and adjust Intensity %. That then causes a further issue that the fade up and down is as required but the second fixture (the one that had its times as 0 and 0) fades up and then snaps to white and then fades down. On the channels display you see the intensity 'count' up and down but one does so in BLUE (the channel that performs correctly) but the one that misbehaves counts up in BLUE and but when the colour snaps to white the intensity value snaps to white, continues to count up and then down. The first cycle behaves correctly but the second and subsequent ones 'fail'. You don't seem to be able to undo the situation - only delete it and start again!!

  26. Hi Martin, OK, let us know how you get on. All the best, Edward
  27. Hi, slowly going to understand things: I added a new file in /etc/network/interfaces.d/wlan0-artnet with the following content: This creates a new wlan0 interface on wlan0 with the required IP address. Adjust to your own IP adress. Works for me at home. Lets see for my theatre setup tomorrow. Martin
