  1. A seriously old post but I am trawling the forums to establish where a show programme went wrong. I got called in late to help programme a show because the original op was having a problem. Its a while since I ran the desk and I never did it a lot. The answer here interests me. Can you change programme mode back and forwards? The desk is a mark one Leapfrog No way are we going to change anything as we made the mistake of going into Full mode and of course tweeks on the run have gone wrong because of lights up on blackouts etc!
  2. It is an original Leapfrog. Its not been over used but about ten years old. I will check the tips from kgallen! My main desk is a Frog2 where its all a bit more straight forward!
  3. Vendetta. I planning on going down the usb route and have a unit waiting to try once the current show is done. I have to say the only bad thing I have ever come across with Zero 88 kit over maybe 20 years is the floppy frives in the Frog desks. It seems they were bought as a dodgy batch as having to format in the desk to make sure the data could then be read is totally contrary with history of 3.5 disks, they are supposed to be interchageable. Each time I want to add another fixture for instance we scrabble around trying to get a floppy to actually work! I note my replacement unit came with a disk, I assume with some drivers. Were there any issues installing the unit?
  4. Tried the F2 trick and all that comes up is a box with the ability to cancel out of it, without any keyboard strokes working!
  5. We have just programmed a show and then decided to retrospectively name cues. For some reason tabbing through does not stop on the Description column. Any ideas? If a bug then it stays until after the show!
  6. Brilliant. As helpful as always. Out of interest do you still do courses for this desk? As I drift towards semi retirement I want to get more into the ways things like this desk works for my extra curricualr work!
  7. I have six quad pars that are FOH. Rather than just use them to add colour to the musical I would like a gently changing "rainbow" of colour across the two side thrust stages and the main tabs as warmers preshow. I think a slowly moving fan of colour change would do the trick. It maybe that such an effect is one of the stored ones that I can adapt? But up to know I mavemostly been usung the desk for conventional gear with LEDs and Macs. No use with sequences
  8. I have a Frog 2 and am trying to get my head around programming LED Pars in a subtle colour fan. Obviously I am reading the book, but having trouble getting things to work in a way I can replicate. Anyone out there give some layman steps to take? Thanks Nick
  9. Thanks for those two tips gents. The show is next week. I am loath to start mainataining things right now as very hard to fit around the day job. In fact the desk is at least seven years old and the battery never changed. The last hirer never mentioned anything so a bit late to find out now
  10. My Leapfrog is not used so much now days. It is currently at a show to be used in place of a Fatfrog. For some reason it is losing some settings from the onboard memory. It maybe a case of sitting around for so long the battery backup is dead or totally flat. Having said that it kept the fixtures. For the time being I have suggested leaving the desk plugged in for 24 hours to see if that works. Obviously if it needs a service I will get that done after this show!

    UDF settings

I am using the desk on a show this week. third time out but oddly the first time I have actually run a show with it. My question is. What should I have set on the UDF for the following scenario. I have a playback main stack. the show has LEDS and Mac 250s all programmed in and working fine. However I want to manually add two thrust stage areas (conventional lights), up and down as required. The problam is at the end of the manual part on pressing next on the master output the thrusts if on at all surge to 100 % and then fade. My workround has been to decide the maximum I require for the lighting on thrusts and set the UDF at say 60%. Then when I press next on the master they dont flash up but fade with the rest of the lighting. I have tried all the LTP and HTP settings, but with no luck. Any ideas chaps?
  12. I have two desks with varying levels of faults. My personal one is spares or repair. The one from my societies has "only" a couple of channels not working. Apart from you buying a spares or rpair and transferring modules I am not sure what you can do.
  13. I am sure it is simple, But while learning my new desk, I have accidentley inserted fixtures in duplication. My question is how do you you actually remove them from the list. I assume the asterix next to fixture/dimmer channel shows you have duplicated a patch somewhere!
  14. To be honest any pc I own gets very creaky when it is maybe four years old, it gets clogged with files updates etc. To have lighting desk of any make working with no servicing after that length of time is pretty good going IMO
  15. Sorted. I thought it must be something like that! Its interesting that is the logic route. I assume other higher end desks do the same. Otherwise I cant see why you would have a unit that is RGB, but control it in a subtractive way. I mean when someone says I want red I would not want to have to stop and think how you get it subtractively!
  16. When I launch my app on my Samsung Galaxy S2 it does not come up with the option of Frog 2. Am I doing something wrong? In my case I only want it as a riggers remote!
  17. Just got my new desk today so felt the need to have a play. I have installed a fixture, the Lanta Fireball Tri LED Par (Five channel) Then I have successfully programmed a sequence to a play back fader. However I found the characteristics are inverted. I found by trial and error intensity is run by position. And with the colours I have Cyan Magenta and Yellow rather than Red Green Blue. Plus with all three off I have full and vice versa! Is there an invert button in the software? A lovely desk by the way
  18. No still no luck with FatFrog. And now I find I cannot upload a CFT file to the forum! How is anyone supposed to try to install which I was going to ask! All the files are recognised by my slightly newer LeapFrog Anyway I attach the fixture files. We have tried the older Fixture manager. Any bright spark in the Hertfordshire area care to pop over to have a look. Payment by beer! Chauvet Par 64 Tri.ift EUROlite LED Par.ift LEDjBattennostrobe.ift ledpar.ift
  19. We have now had another go with this problem. Basically a fixture that is 1 Brightness 2 Red 3 Green 4 Blue 5 Strobe is setup using the fixture tool and saved to floppy. Having gone through the usual boredom of having to format this disk in the desk then take that to the PC we got the file on board the floppy. Nearly there we thought, WRONG! Doing the normal procedure to install from floppy disk on selecting and pressing "assign" the fixture takes adevice already on the desk. It will not take the one from the floppy disk. By deleting all fixtures we got the LEDj to work, but cannot with other fixtures. We have tried renewing the operating software but nothing works. Any ideas guys The very odd thing is the install works on my Frog desk!
  20. The syptoms here looks like an odd problem we are having. We have bought some LEDj battens. Got them working using the Sweetlight dongle so know they work. However when trying to load the fixture supplied by Zero 88 ( a tweek of one done by me with fixture editor) it refused to load, in fact the desk kept loading the previous fixture on the desk. On removing that fixture from the list the batten loaded okay, but on trying to load back the previous fixture it refused. I suspect thi is the same bug as quoted before on this thread. the desk in question has the latest software were as my desk ( cant check as at home) has an older version and the fixture installs okay on that desk. Does this add up as a known bug?
  21. We have two Leapfrogs. We need to run the Eurolite LED Par 64 on the other desk. However the disk from my desk which I had problems getting the desk to recognise, worked once in the other desk but no longer. With mine I had to do the format on my desk, put in floppy drive and copy the fixtures over. That I am used to but it took a few attempts. The drivers for the floppy onboard have not been updated have they? We have not had many problems in the past. Now it is getting a bit serious as we cant get fixtures on board with any reliability.
  22. Well the show is now well and truly over. I have tested the desk back at home with just one LED can and all of a sudden I can control green okay. In fact if i go through all the cues any that had green in on purpose or by accident(at a low level) I can now kill. The way the show was set up I had three trucks with showtec pars on each with a lightweight mains cable plus dmx and four Eurolite gauze washers and fours uplights on small thrust stages The DMX chain for all the latter lanterns came direct from the desk. The trucks came from a dmx splitter. It was the up-lighter Euros that I had a problem with. Might it have needed a termination? Likewise with the trucks, by the wait a pair of showtecs on each. I did have couple of problems which sorted themselves out with the showtecs. In the past I have not needed to term these things but possibly now I am running a lot more at once I do need to? Anyway at least the desk seems okay, though I must say it does seem to be the extreme right wheel I ever have a problem with.
  23. Interesting thread. My extreme right hand wheel which controls Green on my LEDs seems to be stuck but I am wondering if i can run the rest of the run without sorting. Still some useful tips here. A pity it plays up as i have great time while the two pianists let loose on gershwin and would be great to be able to adjust green as well for the montage of colours!
  24. I am running a show using a combiantion of Eurolite Pars and Showtec ones. The whole show is programmed in but when running I am tweeking colour settings. Often for no reason and it seems to happen with Green in particular, I cannot control that channel, either when it is already on or off. Red and blue seem okay. Is it to do with the way I have the programming setup?
  25. Okay. I have the time to look at this further. trying to get 6 showtecs and 8 Eurolights set up before the move in. I must be particularly stupid, but I use the fixture manager to find the fixture, then I open editor and try and open the fixture but it cannot find it.What is going on! All I want to do is setup a colour mag as suggested!
